Stopped by Whiffletree while visiting from out of town and I'm so glad I did. The Bobo Burger was one of the best I've had in a long time. Jeanie was awesome and made me feel right at home. Everyone was kind, and the place had such a laid-back, welcoming vibe. Locals are lucky to have a spot like this. read more

Stopped in for lunch. Had burgers, fries. And slaw. Burgers were average; dense beef with little seasoning, but good toppings and fresh buns. The fries were fresh cut potatoes and the slaw was good. We had decent coffee and good tasting water. All in all a great greasy spoon! read more

This was our first visit. Not a huge selection for breakfast , but adequate . My eggs were ordered over medium and were cooked perfectly ! The homemade biscuits were delicious . Home fries were a bit cold and lacked flavor. Sausage gravy was average at best. The bacon was very good and my husband enjoyed his French toast . Priced very reasonable !! read more

Visiting the area from out of town, we found this restaurant using yelp. We stopped in on a Sunday in October just before noon with the family, two adults, two kids. The restaurant was about 75% full, no wait, seat yourself. The design and decorations of the restaurant were cute, very country, old west vibe. After a bit of a wait it became apparent that the restaurant must be understaffed. There were a few tables that were still not cleaned for a while and it took at least 10 minutes just to be greeted at our table and brought some menus, we almost got up and left thinking we were forgot about. It took at least another 25 mins after ordering to get our food and we noticed others still waiting a while as well. The menu was hard to read due to their design using semi transparent pockets with papers stuffed inside (just use laminating, or paper instead), the food was decent. One thing we weren't aware of was a service fee of an additional 3.5% just for using a credit card. This was rather annoying and honestly I don't know anybody that carries cash anymore so we didn't really plan for that extra cost. I would prefer just to pay a higher menu price up front and not be nickel and dimed on the way out the door. All in all it was nice to try something different as I like a good adventure but honestly if you're in the area and it's a toss up I would recommend trying something else. read more

The worse service ever. We ordered two chef salads and unsweet ice tea and coffee. Our salads were given to the wrong table. The waitress asked if I wanted a refill and I said yes. I told her unsweet ice tea because I am diabetic she brought sweet tea. Forty five minutes later she brought us the wrong salads. They had chicken on the salads. We have been there several times before and the service was good. We would have been off to go to McDonalds'. the service would have been faster and correct. Tiny little place with an AMAZING breakfast! Biscuits and gravy are on point! The reason I did not give 5 stars is because our waitress was very unfriendly. Her only words to us were do you want coffee and what did you decide. No good morning when we said it, no you're welcome when we said thank you, etc...when we did ot get the check after waiting quite a bit we went to the register and our waitress was cashing a couple out. When they were done, we asked to cash out to which she gave us a very dirty look and huffed that she had not brought us our check yet. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat. We live about 30 minutes away in Mansfield, but it's worth the drive. Hometown cooking, sandwiches, burgers, and full dinners. NOT chain food - diner food. Very small salad bar, but adequate. I like home cooking, and Wiffletree delivers. Good prices, too. Don't come here expecting corporate restaurant fare. read more

Decked out in John Wayne decor, this is one of those small-town, family-owned restaurants that we're all always eager to find. I had a veggie burger (Friday in Lent, you know), chips, and in-house made apple crisp. The veggie burger was from Gordon Food Service (as per the waitress) but nicely fixed as a grilled sandwich on sourdough. The apple crisp was very good. Service was quick and friendly. The price was right. I'd recommend it to anyone, certainly for families. read more

Always a nice dining experience. Most of the waitresses are wonderful. There is a young blonde waitress with glasses, that needs some training and some additional lessons on customer service and being friendly. Owners are great people! Breakfast is my favorite meal even offered in the afternoon. Highly recommend. Homemade pies. Fresh biscuits. Coffee is good, and most of the waitresses will offer you more as they walk by your table. read more

The whiffletree (located at 28 main street according to my receipt) is the type of small town home cooking restaurant that demands a mandatory stop if you're driving through rural ohio. We stopped here after a morning canoe trip at mohican, and had quite a good lunch. I had the pork loin sandwich, and it was fried nice and crispy, but not greasy at all. It was very good. The dessert was also excellent, with plenty of brown sugar packed into the apple crisp I had. read more

Small little diner in a small town. I've only had breakfast, and it was your typical breakfast foods, nothing fancy. The service was good, we had coffee refills regularly. I had the 'Cow Poke', which is your classic breakfast of two eggs your way, home fries, and toast/biscuit. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the home fries were decent. We also split an order of the biscuits and gravy. I thought the biscuits were good, but the texture was almost like a dinner roll, they were really soft and almost bread like. The gravy had good flavor, tons of black pepper which I love, but not too much sausage. The biscuits and gravy came out ice cold, but they took care of it quickly. We are only in the area every once in a while, but I wouldn't mind coming again when I am. Its basic breakfast and super cheap, you cant beat it. read more

I had the special of 2 eggs your way (I ordered over easy and were cooked to perfection), toast, bacon and coffee. I also ordered a hotcake and it was fluffy and delish! My boyfriend had the sausage and cheese omelet with a side of home fries. Both meals were prepared pretty quickly and to what we ordered! There weren't a whole lot of options, requiring to choose an a la carte to make a whole meal. This is a good local restaurant to add to your list! My mom and I came for breakfast. She enjoyed their fresh brewed iced tea and I had some good black coffee. We both order the special for the day- French toast and bacon. The French toast was thick bread and dusted with powered sugar. The bacon was also very good. Big pieces! It's a small, local restaurant with good old home cooking. And a LOT of John Wayne memorabilia! I had breaded fish and my husband had their special, chicken parmesan. Our total bill was around $17, not too bad. It included the salad bar. They're closed on Wednesdays. BEST RESTAURANT EVER! Some of my friends and me go there since its right at the end of the bike trial. I always look forward to going there. Everything is made from scratch and is amazing. The meatloaf is to die for and the breakfast is awesome too. The service is great and is defiantly bike friendly and it relatively cheap. A MUST when in rural Central Ohio :) read more
