Pick up food window and old nostalgia on the walls to enjoy!

This quaint little diner too me back ! Black and white checkered floor and old fashion bar stools ! The waitresses were inviting and pleasant with great smiles! The famous pea salad did not disappoint! Fresh, cold with delicious dressing ! The coney sauce had a unique flavor that will have me Coming back again! Great area surrounding diner with antique shops nearby with cute walking areas . Very cute place!

My double cheeseburger no bun and fries ($11-ish dollars)

I love this little place! A true 50's diner. The decor, the music, the service and the food. I felt like I should have dressed in Bobby socks to come in here to meet my letterman-sweater boyfriend for a strawberry milkshake Restaurant: so clean! Lots of spotless stainless steel, old-fashioned glitter booths in great condition and a very clean counter. My server was probably the sweetest person in all of Mansfield. It was my first time in here and she made me feel like a regular - just loved her. The food was good and so classic! I got a double cheeseburger w/ the works and fries. The (steak burger) burger is the old-fashioned hand made ones and fries were done perfectly. I finished my lunch with a cup of coffee - not Starbucks but Starbucks is not what you want. Diner-perfect coffee was great. If I'm ever back in Mansfield for lunch, I'll definitely drop by.

I was attracted to Coney Island Diner due to its awesome signage, and also the fact that I was craving a chocolate milkshake. My waitress was very kind and came to my table right away to ask what I wanted to drink. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and water, and then ended up getting a cheeseburger and coleslaw. The burger was fair, however when I went to eat my coleslaw I found a tiny, dead fly in it :/ I don't know if it was there before or if it had happened to land in there when I moved my fork, but there it was. Coleslaw aside, I enjoyed the environment and the staff. I can't say if I'd stop in there again for a meal, but I would drop in for a milkshake!

Pretty nice and relaxing place to bring your insane kids. Food was good and cheap. I got the Rueben.

So glad we stopped at this Diner vs. grabbing fast food. The atmosphere is great. Clean, old school feel. The food was fantastic.

Fred's Diner is a sparkling diamond of a place that so many locals I mentioned it to were still…read moreunaware of. That's mostly due to location. It's less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Akron but it's off the beaten path. All locals (except me) in here. When I went (10AM Friday) the place was almost full, and I was dining alone, so I sat at the counter, happily next to the kitchen. To look at the kitchen was like looking inside a bee hive, bustling with activity but barely a sound. I could just make out what was being calmly stated "2 Silver Dollar, Salmon, Country Fried, 2 Over Easy..." It was fun to watch, but what was important was the output. It took just over 6 minutes from the time I order until it was sitting in front of me, and everything was perfect! The waitresses were so efficient. I saw my order hit the window and in about 12 seconds it was delivered. They were so customer focused, they were (jokingly) fighting over refilling my tea. When I was done and paid for I waited outside for Uber to pick me up (3 min). I looked back on what I'd just experienced, and snapped a picture of the two parking lots of cars for Fred's Diner. I counted and there were 32 cars at Fred's. OK maybe 10 were staff so 22 cars for customers, let's say on average there were 2 customers per car (remember I walked here so no car for me). By my calculation, Fred's was feeding 44 people every 30 minutes or so. No wonder they're only open 4 days a week and only for breakfast - lunch. I calculate they might serve 3200 meals in those 4 days, and then take 3 days off to get ready for the next week. I love this place. Wish I lived here so I could come more often.

My daughter and I both had off today, so we decided to hit up Fred's for breakfast. I had a craving…read morefor steak and eggs and she went with the corned beef hash. Both plates were very good. I particularly appreciate that they use real potatoes for their hashbrowns, not the frozen/freeze dried crap most places serve up these days. The service was great, coffee was strong, and our bellies are fullllll.
