The chicken pot pie and the lasagna were good! My friend with the lasagna said the beef had good flavor. My alfredo was soooo much sauce about 1:1 sauce noodle ratio. it wasn't too bad but hard to get through with how heavy and buttery it was. The light portions were also huge so i recommend maybe splitting a light portion! the server was hilarious and great but forgot a few things here and there. but that was okay because we didn't mind asking. the garlic knots to start were my favorite!!!!

Jamie was a great server, she chatted with us and told us everything was homemade. We got a pizza and it was excellent as were the complimentary garlic knots. Pull on the cheese was insane! Don't hesitate to come here. The lasagna is cooked to order as well and looked really good.

This is a destination restaurant. On a road trip researching places to eat I came across pictures of the Cookie Monster. Those pictures don't do it justice. If there is a competition of best desserts in America you can't be a judge in that contest without trying this. So good.

I'm really on the fence about this place. Service was decent but took a very long time to get our meals. I got the lasagna and it was very good. However, my partner got the crab cake and it wasn't cooked very well and he actually felt ill later. My friend had a turkey wrap and she said it was just ok. Her husband had the lasagna and said his was very good also. So I guess if you have plenty of time and stick to the lasagna, you're good

What was left of my husband's Philly Mac n Cheese

Literally looks like a Christmas thrift shop when walking by it but the food was amazing! Our server went above and beyond for us and even gave us her recommendations when my husband and I couldn't decide on what to order. My husband had their Philly Mac n Cheese and I ordered the beef stroganoff. Both were incredible! If you aren't starving or have a smaller appetite, definitely order the smaller option! I had enough leftover for 2 more meals.

Our first visit was for a relatively early Tuesday evening dinner. A very wholesome place with some inspirational scripture on the walls. The color palette and decor are reminiscent of a country store. The menu looked fairly good. Notably missing were adult beverages. With that I ordered Iced Tea while the rest of my family had water with lemon. Delicious garlic knots magically appeared with a side of sauce. They feature a crab soup on the menu so I really wanted to try that. My wife ordered the chicken bacon hand tossed pizza and a small Caesar salad while I decided on the single crab cake dinner and their crab soup. As we planned to split the Caesar I substituted their vegetable medley for the Caesar that accompanied my crab cake. My mom and her partner also split a Caesar and each had a bowl of the crab soup. Their small Caesar was fairly large and very tasty! The only possible improvement would be to use larger croutons. The crab soup was amazingly delicious! A hint of sherry and Old Bay topped a heaping pile of crab in my cup! My crab cake was pretty darn good for being in north central Ohio! It came with a huge heaping amount of battered French fries. What nearly stole the show was the vegetable medley! Well prepared, seasoned, and delicious! My wife really enjoyed her pizza! The small bite I had fell in line with the rest of our meal...beyond yummy! Looking forward to visiting again soon!

My wife and kids loved their food also -- chili, grilled cheese, wings, and chips. The chips were the least pleasing thing. We ate right in the main bar area with TVs everywhere. Fun environment. Waitresses were kind and human. Food came out very fast. Service and prices were solid. The men's bathroom is pretty "old world." If you're actually using the stall (which is not deep enough to comfortably sit in), you cannot close the door (there's no latch). The bathroom also didn't smell clean. It was a lot smaller inside than we expected but it was nice. We were seated quickly but it took a bit for our server to come. We finally ordered ( nothing crazy - we all got sandwiches). Then it felt like our server just disappeared. One of the other servers heard us talking while she was servicing her table and told us that they had some event going on outside so food was taking longer to come out. No update from our own server. I had to ask ther other server for another drink. It was kind of irritating to see tables that came in after us getting their food before us. Now onto the food - it was pretty good. We all enjoyed our sandwiches. I got a reuben with fries. The rye bread on my reuben was nice - crispy crust yet soft. Very good ratio of meat to saukraut. The fries were eh. Very limp with no crispy at all. I've honestly gotten better fries off a food truck. They look crispy in the photo but they were not. So overall- drink was good, sandwich was delicious but fries were not and service was not good at all.

First two courses were excellent. Elk tartare was incredible, pave and lobster roll were very good. Zuppa toscano (soup) and shrimp & grits were nicely done. Cons: The meal quality started off great and went down with each course. With steak and salmon as other options, I thought a restaurant that would put a grilled cheese sandwich on a $100 meal must have an innovative sandwich. I was wrong. It was burnt and had no taste at all. An eight year old could have done better with a slice of Kraft. My Madeline dessert was four pieces of dry something, though the chocolate s'mores cake was significantly better.

There are relatively few dining options in Mansfield Ohio on a Sunday, thankfully Hudson and Essex is one that is available! We arrived without Reservations and seated in the dining room. We usually prefer the bar; however, as it was Sunday dinner, we wanted to be more proper. On Sundays, they do offer a dinner menu and a Sunday dinner menu. Their Sunday dinner menu is very good! We've had offerings on it before and have never been disappointed. This time we did decide to order off the regular menu. After ordering a round of cocktails to start with, we ordered a jalapeño flatbread appetizer special to start. Must say that that flatbread was extremely delicious and hot! The jalapeño slices could've been deveined and deseeded to tame the heat a little. For our main courses, I ordered their Caesar salad with blackened chicken, my wife their small filet, and mom their pierogi appetizer. Our meals came out well presented and delicious! It was the first time I've ever had their Caesar salad and I enjoyed it immensely. My wife always enjoys their steak and my mom raved about the pierogies. No formal desserts were ordered; however, I ordered a last word, which was delicious! Alec really is a great bartender and can make just about anything! All in all, another well done dinner at Mansfield's best restaurant!
