The good parts were fantastic: My server, Millie, was top-notch, and helped me sort through some menu options to make a choice. Which turned out great, because she said the chef doing the steaks was really good, and she was right. I have very exacting preferences for steak done-ness, and this one was absolutely perfect. The Cajun seasoning and mushrooms & onions were a tasty garnish, and I subbed out the garlic mashed potatoes for the 4-cheese mac & cheese with bacon -- a winner again, rich and savory. The national chain nature of the restaurant means the beer selection is pretty lame, but the drafts are cold. The not so good parts? The host was on his phone in the waiting area when I walked in, and he didn't glance up as he yelled "How many?" When he asked me if I wanted a table or a booth, it felt like a challenge, and his "Follow me" was more like an order from a guard than an invitation, but fine. I wouldn't mention it but for the fact that the general manager visited my table as I was dining to ask if my steak was done right. I told him it was perfect, and he said thank you and left. No conversation, no interest in details, just a quick yes/no survey. I've heard that some restaurant chains have a "table touch" policy that requires managers to visit patrons' tables and ask about the experience. If this was an example, it was a bad one, because it couldn't have been more clear that this manager wanted to be doing pretty much anything else than this job. Last grouchy note: tableside devices to pay the check are fine, but when they double as distractions, entertainment devices (doesn't everyone carry one already?), and ways to avoid human contact -- that's a line I wish they would refuse to cross. Went here while passing through since it was a convenient stop for food on our way to Sandusky. Tried impossible burgers and a chicken entre. The service was pretty decent though she seemed to get distracted easily. Didn't have to wait long for a seat. The meal was well seasoned and we all liked our food. Bathrooms were clean as well as the restaurant itself. Appreciated that Applebee's has an an allergen guide online as this made it easier to know what was safe for a vegan to order. I went to this Applebee's with a group on a Saturday at 11am... It was an awful experience. The service was very poor. There were maybe two other tables in the entire restaurant when we got there, and we had to call the server over multiple times. Our drinks were empty before the food arrived and were never filled again. The food all came out at different times. One member of the group ordered a burger well done and it came out pink and bloody in the middle. Another ordered a chicken salad and it arrived without chicken. A third ordered a pasta dish that simply never arrived... and then the server could not be found when they got up to look for her. I do not understand how this place is still in business, maybe that was part of the reason it was so empty? I'm annoyed and a bit angry. So I'm sitting at the spot my company got while I'm working here. Check out Applebee's menu and couldn't believe what I was seeing. The food looked good! Damn good. I haven't been to Applebee's in 20 yrs at least. Got my mask n let's roll! Asked to sit at the bar. 6 foot placements placed. Nice. Then the regulars started chatting with me. Then got up to go to the restroom etc. No mask. This that bull. Trying to show me pics(no mask). I'm still in Ohio right? Where our Governor won't even let you get a drink after 10 because of crap like this. No staff said anything. My chicken pasta was good but I'm out of there. So I hadn't been here for a long while. It previously was the meeting place for me and Mom & Dad. Dad wasn't able to make the trip and then he passed. So Mom agreed to meet up here as she was bringing down something I needed in Cbus. We agreed to meet at 11:45 and I got here a little after 11 (by plan). I knew they had wifi and wanted to get some work done. I was seated and ordered my Diet Pepsi. The waitress was super pleasant. She kept my soda filled the whole time I was there. She was really nice to my mom (85 years old) which I greatly appreciate. I got the usual - Thai Shrimp salad. It was fine. HOWEVER, I am truly tired of ordering it as the only low cal salad option. It is TOTALLY time for them to change this up on the menu. BRING BACK THE ASIAN CRUNCH SALAD! Mom got a lunch combo - the cheapest one by coincidence - as she wanted the potato soup and the chicken penne dish. She said it was very good. The lunch was wonderful and worked out perfectly. Husband goes to get it at the scheduled time it said it would be ready. Waits 10 minutes as our food sat in the window before anyone grabbed it. He asked where his fries were for his chicken tender platter. She processed a to tell him you didn't get fries you got a baked potato instead. When in fact the baked potato was separate not a substitution. We live 8 minutes from the Restaurant. My husband gets home our food is ice cold, thrown together. Our local branch is nicely decorated and staffed with a friendly and outgoing wait staff who do their best to accommodate requested needs. Service is quick and beverage refills brought promptly . Discounted Monthly drink specials are interesting and certainly worth a try . October's bargain was a tasty concoction called a Zombie , created in order to celebrate Halloween . The Inventive drink, which sold for the bargain price of a buck , featured a miniature brain ( of the gummy bear variety ) bobbing around on the surface of the drink ! Kudos to the creative mind that came up with that idea ! It was hilarious , and the drink concoction of Rum/cherry/ pineapple and lime , tasted pretty good too ! Dayshift was awesome filled my beer completely as an Bar Church should. As the night shift came in her demeanor was different including her porridge of beer don't understand how it is likable to BW three's to Cheechoo on 1 inch of your beer claiming it's a taste thing. So i haven't been in an Applebee's in a while and I'm happy to say i wasn't disappointed. We had the spinach artichoke dip for an app and it was very good. Great experience and I'm not typically a fan. We sat at the bar here and the bartender was great. I had the best grilled chicken Caesar salad and I'm picky about them. The lettuce was all the soft green part of the romaine. The Chicken was perfectly seasoned and grilled. Very moist and flavorful. The salad was also room temp which I love. Clean, fast seating and fast service - admittedly, we were there during non-peak hours. Our burgers were fantastic and the food overall was really good. Bad service from waitress that could care less when we told her the side dish portion sizes were the size of a teaspoon. She did not get the manager or even admit we were telling the truth.
