It took 24 minutes to be served a single cheeseburger and fries, apparently to allow them time to grow cold first. The staff were spectacularly apathetic, as though they were staging a slowdown strike. It's not as though they were busy, either. I was one of six tables, two of whom had been served before I arrived. Service this slow and inefficient is truly remarkable. I will say the milkshake was tasty, and because of the well insulated cup, it had not melted by the time I was served my food. That was the only bright spot in this experience. It's a shame when a once very good restaurant chain falls on hard times, but Steak N Shake isn't the first, and surely won't be the last.

My food took about 12 minutes to be all set, but they gave me a cup to enjoy some root beer as I waited. I digged into the fries and Cod sandwich first which were pretty good.
