Good thing Cava is way down 16th street... 1 star off - was server severely uncooked rice 1 star off - for a $16 bowl, you should be able to unlimited ingredients such as at a Cava or Chipotle. Really can't stand when they limit to just a few 1 star off - for $16, the bowl should be plentiful. Cava/Chipotle gives you so much food for $4-$5 less..the bowl here has ample room for more generous scoops. My bowl was maybe 60% filled. Will gladly walk to another place to get more food for a better price, and a place that knows how to cook rice..

    Og Colorado Bowl with chicken
    Melissa H.

Reviews on yelp convinced me to check out this location. It was a bit hard to find but once I realized it was on the lower level of the plaza it was an easy find. Service was quick and courteous and the staff welcome me like I was a regular. The OldG Colorado bowl with chicken was FANTASTIC. I was so filling that I could not eat it all. The concept is pretty familiar where u pick a base, a protein and 5 other ingredients or you could choose from one of their selections like the OG Colorado, which included roasted corn, quinoa, green chilies, avocado, and pumpkin seeds, along with a house dressing, I added chicken and a base of half brown rice and half salad mix. The base choices include brown rice, white rice, chilled rice, noodles, and salad mix. The protein choices are grilled chicken, grilled steak, organic tofu, sushi, gray, salmon, sushi, gray, tuna, and tiger shrimp. The ingredients options include both fresh and dried ingredients by herbs, avocado, black beans, broccolini, cilantro, cucumbers, green beans, hard to Paul, flax, seeds, seeds, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, shallots, papaya, kimchi, jicama, and many many more. The dining room was small, but super super clean and efficient, and there was some nice music playing from the speakers.

Paleo Bowl with brown rice and tofu

I have been to bubu twice and have really liked my bowls both times -- one build your own with chicken and one paleo caveman bowl with tofu. Prices are on the higher end, but I can justify the price for an occasional healthy meal with quality ingredients that doesn't leave me feeling sleepy. This location was a little tough for me to find, as it is located below ground level. I ordered online both times and got a notification that my food was ready within 5-10 minutes. bubu is definitely part of my lunch rotation on days that the meal prep has run out!

These bowls are hearty and nutritious as well as super tasty. They make them relatively quickly and it was the perfect lunch stop for us as we were at a professional conference across the street at the Sheraton. I recommended this place to several other conference attendees and would definitely eat here again if I had the chance! They are super vegan/vegetarian friendly as well and you can build your own bowl with a large menu of options for ingredients so the possibilities are endless!

Hawaii poke with salmon and charred broccoli instead of hearts of palm
    Mallory C.

I came here last week with some coworkers, since one of my friends comes here all the time, and had a coupon. It's a little difficult to find from the outside, and if you need an accessible entrance you have to go into the first bank building, and take the elevator. If I had more time to review the menu I probably would have made my own bowl, but it was the lunch rush, and I didn't want to be "that girl" who held up the entire line. I had the Hawaiian poke, with salmon, and substituted the charred broccoli for hearts of palm. The staff was nice and helpful, and the food was ok. if I did dine here again I would probably order takeout, since the place itself is pretty cramped, and there aren't really any accessible places to sit, or wait for your food. I parked my scooter to wait for food and felt like I was in the way, and blocking things. For the price, there are much better poke places that have more toppings I like, so I would probably order from Rocky Fin, or Poke World, and only go to BuBu if other people want to go.

    Custom BUBU Bowl

Hands down one of the healthiest places you can eat on the 16th Street mall IMO! A number of different bowls available but I prefer to build my own! Would def. recommend. My Custom Bowl: Bubu Salad Mix, Grilled Steak, Charred Broccoli, Cherry Tomatoes, Harissa Cauliflower, Shiitake Mushrooms, Roasted Carrots & Chia Lime Seed Dressing.

Place has potential but customer service is atrocious and the size of the bowl I got was a joke. It was a slap in the face. First, they are literally sauce/dressing Nazis. You can't try anything, the sauces just a list of ingredients as if any normal human being could understand what the difference in taste is. Nazis, only way to describe the behavior. The bowl I got was maybe 20% full of food, just terrible. Seriously, who would go here again? Lots of potential but the execution is just sad. Wanted to make this a regular spot.

I am OBSESSED with this place! The food is quite simply outstanding! Fresh ingredients, bold flavors, generous proportions! I typically get the Southern California with tiger shrimp and the green apple wasabi vinaigrette..... SO good! Easy to customize by adding/deleting ingredients and building your own. Look at this gorgeous bowl!

The paleo bowl and house dressing. Seriously good stuff!
    CJ C.

I can't imagine why this place gets negative reviews, but hey, that's just me! I really love their simple concept. Their ingredients are fresh, and super tasty! I'm currently on a paleo cleanse and this was the only place near where I work that had an option that met my special diet. The Paleo bowl with the subbed house dressing was super yummy and perfect for my dietary needs! It's a bit pricey, but I don't mind paying a little more for high quality ingredients. And what a nice touch to have cucumber water! I'm officially going to be a regular!

Don't order the Chicken Sausage if you're picky. *** Came here on a Saturday visit to Denver around 11am for brunch. I'd recommend making a reservation. Service was spectacular. The hosts were friendly and our server was extremely helpful and made excellent recommendations. We were seated upstairs. It was 100 degrees outside so naturally we were a bit warm up there, but it wasn't unbearable. Casual vibes here - jeans, shorts, tshirts throughout. We ordered Elderflower Spritz's to start. They were absolutely delightful. Light and very refreshing. We also had their seasonal specialty Cashew Queso. It was unlike anything I've ever tasted before. The cashew flavor wasn't overwhelming, it more so added a lovely bit of creaminess to the delicious homemade queso dip. We also shared the Carrot Cake French Toast. I truly have no words for how spectacular this dish was. I'll be fantasizing about it for the rest of my days. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft, rich, and cakey on the inside - paired with a scoop of some sort of fantastic whipped cream cheese *chefs kiss* Highly recommend getting this to share. If you're bold enough to order it as your entree, be prepared to take a nap shortly afterwards. I also ordered the "Make Your Own Breakfast" with cheddar cheese scrambled eggs and a side of avocado & home fries. It was all amazing. The portion wasn't overbearing but with the 2 appetizers we had - everyone at the table left happy. One thing to note: someone in my party ordered the Chicken Sausage and said they'd definitely get the bacon next time. So if you're picky about your sausage, try the bacon or avocado instead. Overall 10 out of 10 would recommend!!
