We were shown to the patio which was an indoor, covered patio. I opted for a Mimosa and opted for the buffet. My friend ordered a couple cocktails - I don't recall which ones - but both were delicious. My husband ordered the Limoncello Spritz which was also very good. My friend ordered the Herb Roasted Beets Salad with the Bavette Steak. My friend really enjoyed it. For the buffet, I tried the New York Strip, the Fried Chicken, Gulf Shrimp & Grits, Belgian Waffles and the Local Sausage. I really enjoyed everything I tried. The Belgian Waffle was very good and the Fried Chicken had a really crispy skin and was tender. The Flavor of the Shrimp & Grits and the New York Strip were also very good. Service was great and I would definitely come back to check out their dinner and the rest of their menu.

Accordingly, I recommended it to my parents for a special meal, and round two was not as good. We were sat upstairs, which detracted from the ambience substantially, but worse was our server. From the moment she greeted us, we could tell she did not want to be there. She brought red wine in white wine glasses and a bread basket with only three pieces to a table of four people. I pointed this out and requested more bread, so that each of us could have a piece, but she never returned with more as she agreed to do. (Eventually a different server brought us more bread upon second request.) After food was served, I don't recall seeing her to check in until we'd finished eating. Absolutely unacceptable when you're waiting on a table that's putting down more than $250 before tip. Food wise, pretty happy. Fried green tomato was good; pincaha was salty but well cooked (chimichurri overpowering); duck was nice; and pastas were rich. I'd be back but specify that I want a table on the main floor, not upstairs between the bathroom and kitchen. I'd also be on the lookout for the redheaded waitress with the chip on her shoulder.

Service was really fast & this was only their 3rd day open. Their prices are more than reasonable in these times of stretched home budgets. Best of all, the food was quite good. My wife & I both wanted the Nutty Cat (the Twisted Cat version of a peanut butter, bacon cheeseburger). We were not disappointed at all. Great food, great service, wonderful location. When they arrived they seemed oddly small for what you would expect, more so trimmings than "Steak Tips." For dinner I was between a couple of items, but I rushed myself to order the Steak and Cheese. When it arrived it appeared that I received the previously mentioned "steak tips" sandwiched between bread, with some condiments and cheese. Maybe I should have read the description a bit more carefully or maybe I expected something more typical of a Steak and Cheese. I did want to order the steak tacos after both, just to see if they were the same. Someone please let me know. I understand that restaurants will utilize ingredients across multiple dishes but this just seemed ridiculous.

It is not cheap, but it is worth it to us. Each pizza is one size and will serve 2 people. The menu is very limited beyond pizza. This is an example of picking one thing and doing it very well. The kitchen is tiny, and seating is very limited so we always take the pizza home. They are closed Sundays.

But...Oh my gosh! This was one of the best wood fired pizza's we've had in years! Excellent sauce, phenomenal buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, tomatoes and onions! Be still my heart! Husband added some feta! So good! And the Greek Salad was fresh, perfectly balanced with a tasty dressing! We we served by one of the owners, (my chemo-brain has already lost her name...) who was so kind, friendly and accommodating that we felt as if we were regulars. There are only three tables inside, with lots of dining outside... We ate inside, at the center table. We could watch the pizza making process from our table, which was very interesting and nice. They made the end of a Birthday getaway a success! If you're looking for a delicious pizza with a terrific salad and a wonderful team, this is without a doubt, the perfect place to eat while in the Lovettsville area. (Forgot to take a photo!)

It's a little pricey relative to places like Verre wine bar in Courthouse or area Vineyards. I noticed they had the Valravn cab sauv and it was A $20 glass but I have seen it for several dollars less at Verre and elsewhere. However, these were really large pours. So it may be their philosophy to have someone order/pay once and get a lot then having to constantly go back for more. Which is great if you value simplicity but less so if you want variety. I also didn't see flight options, though maybe I missed them. All in all it came out to $83 for 2 glasses of red wine and a cheese plate with 5 cheeses. However they brought bread refills - not sure if it's just that the plate was priced for unlimited bread or if we were being charged for more bread each time and that is what increased the price. Service was a little lax. Again not a bad thing, depends on your preference. When we got their attention they were on it. It resulted in being completely unrushed and unpressured which I appreciate. But my friend was starving and under those conditions we would have liked someone to come take our food order sooner. Vibe is chill. I wouldn't say it's as sexy as others do. When we arrived the lights were fairly bright and then they turned them down and started putting out candles while we were there so that may have been it. That was around 7 or 8 if you are gaming this out for a date. We were the 6pm crowd so maybe they were intentionally going for a less sexy vibe for the benefit of the after work drinks with friends types. I don't recall music. Note also they seem to really focus on imported wines more so than local. I don't thibk there was any local VA wine on the menu. All in all, if you need a wine place in the area then it is totally worth stopping by, especially if you like the specific approach described above. Is it a wine bar I would go out of my way for given that there are a bunch in different neighborhoods around DC? Probably not unless I was specifically looking for this kind of imported wine menu or large pours. This is a no if you are specifically looking for flights or to otherwise try a bunch of different wines.
