My favorite wines in the tasting: White Petit Manseng 2024 10/10 La Belle Vie Rose 2023 9/10 Sauvignon blanc 2023 8/10 La Belle Vie White 2024 9/10 Red Abbinato 2022 9/10 Coyote cave 9/10 (bolder than abbinato) Merlot 2023 8/10 (very light and pleasant) Petit Verdit 2019 We ended up going with the petit manseng it's sweet but not overly sweet. Extremely good, like a moscato. The food: The burger 15/10 The crab dip 9/10 Grilled Cheese 8/10 Dessert: Wine cakes 50/10 SOOO WORTH IT! I believe the tent comes with one of the charcuterie boards - Le Grand Cru Platter. I honestly thought it was alright, not the best sprays I've had and the bread was hard. I'd give it a 7/10. The winery cakes were PHENOMENAL!!!!!! I was IN LOVE. They apparently soak it for many hours in their wine. I highly recommend it! We visited Potomac Point Winery for my partner's birthday and had a wonderful time. The wine tasting exceeded expectations, especially for wines outside of Napa and Europe. The staff was welcoming and very knowledgeable about the wines and grapes grown on the property. I'd definitely label these as great "couch wines"--easy to enjoy and well balanced. We live in Baltimore, so the drive was a bit taxing (be prepared for Virginia traffic), but worth it. The vineyard views at night are stunning, and the property has beautiful event spaces for hosting celebrations. There's a restaurant on-site that we didn't try this visit--we ate in DC instead--but it gives us a reason to return. read more

Winery located in Stafford with plenty of parking. Not too far from Quantico. We came here on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm and they were able to accommodate us for a wine tasting. We didn't have reservations and it was $20 per person for 8 wines. We stood for about 1.5 hours The wines were not bad, but not the best I've tried. The staff was nice, didn't rush us, and were busy but attentive. They allow food outside; however, not inside as they have their own bistro and food offerings. Atmosphere was good, but no the most aesthetically pleasing compared to other wineries in Virginia. They bathroom could be tidied up a bit. They do allow dogs. read more

I came here for a birthday brunch, where the birthday girl reserved a "fire table." The fire table was cute because it has a little fire pit in the center of the table. So long as the wind isn't blowing too hard and the flame isn't too high, it's nice. I ordered a pitcher of the sangria to get things going. The sangria was fine but I wish it was made with a bit of a stronger red. Something with a little more punch since there's no liquor in it. Of course people order wine flights and various mimosas which everyone seemed to enjoy. I ordered the shrimp and grits. If you're accustomed to true Louisiana shrimp and grits, you're not going to get the exact same taste here. It's still good, just not the same. Others got the carbonara and sent it back, so be advised. We also had a charcuterie board which everyone seemed to enjoy. Overall, it's a good place for Sunday brunch with cute views of the vineyard. Came here on a Saturday afternoon- had reservations at the tasting bar then the bistro. I had reserved the indoor bistro but called a few hours prior and the staff was helpful in letting me change to an outdoor reservation. You have two options for tasting, we opted for the Premium for $15 (you get 9 wines in the tasting, so you definitely get your moneys worth) which is the lighter bodied wines and includes both whites, a rosé, and reds. My favorites were the 2023 Chardonnay and the rosé. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. Afterwards we were seated in the courtyard, cute patio with umbrellas and a fountain, loved the ambience. We ordered the wagyu burger, sausage and mustard board, and crabcake appetizer (includes 3 mini crab cakes). Wagyu burger was delicious, crabcake wasn't bad. The winery sits atop a hill overlooking its vineyard, lovely view when you're driving up to it. Would visit again. read more

I had not been to Potomac Point since 2012, it was still as nice as I remembered. The atmosphere was very welcoming and food and wine pairing selection on the menu added a Chef's kiss to our visit. Anthony provided wonderful service and we added a little encore to our stay, thanks to him. My only critique is this is the DMV and I've never been to an establishment that doesn't accept Amex as a method of payment. Maybe it is the interchange fees and they don't want to extend those fees down to their customers but this is the first. Overall, enjoyed my stay and will return again in the future. I've visited Potomac Point a few times over the years, and I've kept hoping for improvements, but this last visit sealed the deal that it's not right for me. Let's start with the positives: the petit verdot, the (overpriced) heritage (their take on a meritage/blend), and the service in the bistro. Unfortunately, there were more negatives to outweigh those positives. The woman who poured our tasting could not have been more distant. She often did not even tell us what varietal she was pouring into our glasses...hence no tasting notes or description of the wines which is unheard of at any decent winery. We opted for the premium wine tasting which included paying for a zero-alcohol wine. After the tasting, we did enjoy good service in the bistro. Overall, Potomac Point is pretty on the outside but had a lackluster performance on the inside. read more

I attended this winery with some girlfriends. We used the tented seating it was lovely. I thought the food and beverage offerings were great for the price and there was ample selection for me as a celiac. The service was a little disjointed, it sort of felt like they may have been busier than expected. It was a bit sporadic but overall met our needs the servers were polite but checked on us a bit too infrequently. The tents were comfortable and appointed well to spur conversation and enjoy the offerings. We had 7 people in our party. We all ordered separately and each of us had our fill. Nice winery located in Stafford, VA. You have the option to make a reservation or walk in for a tasting. Because we came on a weekday, they were slow, and we were able to walk in and have a guided tasting without an issue. My husband and I did two different tastings and we both enjoyed them as it had been quite some time since we had done a tasting here. Poor management: when is the last time a manager sat in one of the chairs in the lounge? No padding, steel bar up your rear. Who plans the menu? Same crummy entrees. Lighting in lounge is like great uncle's basement. Can you have separate checks by couple at a table? No, says smarmy manager lady (who basically guarantees her servers are not getting a platinum tip). I really hate when untrained food and beverage owners try to open a fancy place and charge fancy prices for mediocre service. I sense that this winery is a blueprint from another winery because the commitment to customer service is just not there. If so, there would be serious training of the staff, not just local yahoos that probably part-time from Walmart or Costco. The more "sophisticated " staff pack themselves behind a tiny bar and visibly cringe when you ask for assistance from the absent server. They will " remind" you by telling you that they will ask or tell your server. The other servers will do the same. Tacky. Some questions: - Why should I be clearing the dirty plates from my reserved table onto a clean table after several stops of delivering food and beverages? - Why should I remove the multiple menus from the table onto a clean table after ordering the last plate and all of the food has been delivered and the table is packed? - Why aren't they checking members before members have to ask for their member discounts to be applied to the bill? - Where are the dining area staff at when the room is lightly full? - Why should I have to ask what would be recommended from the winery's harvest? It's just so annoying to be charged high prices for low service. Lots of staff standing around. Everywhere I go, I'm seeing outrageous prices for mediocre meals. Cash grab tactics on most every place that I decide to patron. They actually will charge $3 to substitute a salad for soup. Really?? That is a common exchange and they think it's okay. We as customers shouldn't. The money spent at these places is extra spending money and if I'm going to be charged for this and that, then the server better clear my table and be attentive for a $225 bill on a rainy, low trafficked venue. The amount of staff almost matched the amount of customers, yet they were absent or the bar workers stood jammed behind the bar. My husband brought me here and it was the perfect day date! I was literally excited to finally get a chance to have wine and food in the cute tents! They played music in them too I'm not sure how they knew my music but the playlist was perfect! The service was so good. Everyone was super nice. The food was actually pretty good and had a good selection of food to choose from. I really wanted to try the sweet rolls but they didn't have any by the time we tried to order them. We came here to celebrate my grandmother and I's birthday this year here, and we are so glad we did! They have tents available in the cold months with a heater and it was so cozy! Our server checked in with us regularly and was fast with bringing our wine flights. We also pre-ordered our charcuterie ahead for it to be in the tent when we arrived. Everything was relaxing, and we enjoyed getting to sit and talk as the sun went down. Not pictured however, was a delicious crab dip, bistro burger, and soup. And we took our glasses too. My friend told me about this winery a few months ago and I added it to my list. I came across it on social media once too but she really sold me on it. Gorgeous property, tasting room, and patios. A hostess told me they've had 28 weddings this year and I completely understand why because it's so nice. I walked in without a reservation. They seemed pretty busy and also had a wedding when I was there but they were able to seat me immediately. I sat on their outdoor lower patio right next to their fountain and it was so beautiful and relaxing. I love wineries that have real food because I of course love to eat lol. They have crab dip, crab cakes, ribs, meatballs, filet kabobs, short rib, pasta, chicken, salmon, salad, a burger, and much more. They even have Sunday brunch with omelets, waffles, shrimp and grits, and more. I ate the whole crab dip by myself (how greedy lol) but I was also alone so I of course had to finish it. It was delicious and a nice size and I love that it came with pita bread. The pumpkin biscuits were really good too and the honey cinnamon butter was the perfect addition to it. I tried their petit manseng 2023, apple pie sangria, la belle vie white, and moscato. The moscato was my favorite and is usually my favorite wine overall but I never see it at winerys so it surprised me they had it. They also have mockatails that look like they could be delicious. Considering how busy they were, the service wasn't bad and my waitress Katelynn was so sweet! She had great energy, was very knowledgeable about the wines and menu, and was honest. I've been to Potomac Point Winery a couple of times and each time have really enjoyed my experience! This particular time I visited to celebrate a Pretty in Pink Galentine's event hosted by two of my friends and we did not make any 'pour' decisions. The staff was really pleasant with taking the time to escort me out to our designated tent and also allowing us extra time by setting up an indoor table for us to extend our stay and continue our usage of the space! I always love the small bites that they have to eat and the charcuterie board we indulged in was delicious. Of course the wine tasted great as well. The winery and the land it's on is beautiful so there are always a ton of photo opportunities. This winery is great for celebrations or just outings in general. read more

The grounds were beautiful, and everything was so well maintained. Our guests couldn't stop commenting on how gorgeous it was. The food was beyond delicious, and we were so impressed by the quality and presentation for such a reasonable price. The plated dinner was a huge hit, and the wine selection was just as fantastic! The tasting experience leading up to the day was so much fun and really showcased the attention to detail the team puts into everything. Also, there was no seating at the bar, so we were standing for quite a bit, which was hard because I'm recovering from a knee surgery. Come to find out later you can sit at a table and order wine flights which is similar to the wine tasting. After the wine tasting we were seated outside in the scenic but buggy courtyard to dine at the Bistro. The food was not anything special. The pasta primavera was plain, barely having any taste. The cuban sliders were okay, but the bread was burnt. And the ribeye burger was amazing! The side of chips were just normal kettle cooked most likely from a bag. Food was definitely overpriced, but that can be expected at a winery. Our waiter was not attentive to us, we had to wait a while to flag him down for the check, even though it wasn't that busy. Beautiful wineyard - hard to believe it's only an hour from DC! Super romatic - we were there just for a ladies' brunch day but would totally come back for a wedding. We got the bottle of Moscato which was fairly cheap considering how much it might go for at another place, but it was also only 5% abv. The food was amazing - especially the Creamy Crab Dip - and our servers were helpful in answering our questions about the different wines. Came here the other day as it had been a while since I've been here. We made reservations for brunch and also purchased a wine cake ( you must order in advance) We were seated right away and greeted right away. Everyone that was working was polite and had great welcoming customer service. I had an apple cider drink and it was amazing so I had another. We also had something that I believe had the name sunset in it and a mock tale. We ordered the crab dip, two crab cake sandwiches, a salad , the waffle with apples , eggs. The crab cakes were good, home fries yummy( I added peppers and onions to mine) the egg was yummy, the waffle lacked for us as we were expecting something greater and more flavorful it was blah. Fabulous bistro and winery that has seasonal fun events. Just attended their wine and pie pairing tastings and it was phenomenal! They also have many wonderful events throughout the year and their fall festival is another one that is not to be missed. They even had fright flights for Halloween with candy! The service is always prompt and friendly as they check on you throughout your meal. The ambiance is that of a French chateau with beautiful rose garden and backdrop for weddings. The ambiance inside the bistro is intimate and cozy. We love it so much here that we joined the wine club! Dog friendly outdoors (on leash please!)and they have ample seating outside when the weather permits. If you're looking for a place to relax and unwind this is a great day trip! I went for a girls day out with friends and we rented one of the private tents. The setup was a lot of fun, complete with couches, a cozy heater and rustic decor. We had a couple of tasting flights and lots of food, both were really good. The service was also excellent, we really appreciated our assigned server who did a lot of walking back and forth between our tent and the kitchen/bar. The only real downside is that if you're visiting from DC the trip is a little long. We hired a car service, which I highly recommend so you don't have to worry about a designated driver for the long drive home. Overall I highly recommend this winery for a fun day out. read more
