Looking for a Brunch Spot in Spotsylvania? Look No Further than Cider Lab! We arrived when they opened at 10 and enjoyed a mouthwatering breakfast burrito with bacon. We also shared a kids' pancake and sausage. The service was fast, the food was delicious, and of course, the cider was exceptional! A great start to the day! - Cider lab - Spotsylvania

Cider Lab Gourmet burgers, small bites, and appetizers are their choices for eats. As the name implies, they are a small-batch cidery, providing a large assortment of ciders, perrys, and jerk'ms. It is a fun little place for small group gatherings or just a nice meal with friends & family. On Thursday's, they have a friendly trivia night. We went here on a Thursday, to enjoy a good meal and try our hand at a bit of trivia, too. The two of us split the charcuterie board and the Chef Specialty Burger. Tonight's special burger was a full-sized burger with a complete fish filet on top! For drinks, we chose the cream soda on tap. While the charcuterie board was just your typically fare, tasting good and fresh, the special burger was the star of the show. The burger was cooked just right and the battered fish filet was perfection! The house-made chips on the side were a nice touch, too. Every single staff person we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful, attentive and serving with a smile. The main person in charge of the trivia game made it a fun evening for all. The prices for food were a bit high for the appetizers, and slightly above average for the gourmet burgers, in my opinion. Overall, a nice place, great atmosphere, and memorable evening.

The restaurant vibe was great! It's a small quaint spot in Spotsylvania with an industrial modern feel. We went during the lunch hour and the restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered the flight of ciders and I must say the Kiwi Perry is incredible!!!! I wish they sold it by the can/or shipped!!! The fresh chips are great and our food was amazing! The staff was attentive and helpful with suggestions and the process of ordering.

Great first time experience and it will NOT be the last. Appetizers were surprisingly delicious! The service was excellent. The interior is small with some outdoor seating yet spacious enough to create a cozy, small town bar vibe. Honestly, this place was recommended by a coworker and I am not sure how I missed the "ETOH" part of the cider brief. Nonetheless, even after realizing this was a bar... we stayed and enjoyed the food and cider flights. The red sangria was one of my favorites. If you are looking for a cool spot to try something different, stop by Cider Lab and start a tab!!

Me and my husband absolutely love ciders and decided to come here to give this place a try! I actually had tasted some of their ciders at the Cider Festival in the Fall and had been waiting to go to their actually location once opened. Upon walking in there was tons of space and I really enjoyed the set up. The young woman greeting us, I believe she may have been the manager, was super helpful and friendly. She gave us her recommendations and explained the taste of the ciders. At the time when we walked in, they weren't serving food due to some kitchen issues I believe but after about 45 minutes they were back up and running. We did not get a chance to try any of the foods unfortunately since we had ate prior but their menu is very promising. We will definitely be back!

Super friendly bartender. Great spot. Loved the ciders! Menu looked really interesting also.

I had just come from a hair appointment down the street and on my way back to my car, I noticed Sangria advertised on the mini sandwich board outside. I'm a HUGE fan of a glass of fruity Sangria on a hot day! The fact that it was Happy Hour with $5 glasses made it even easier to draw me inside!! When I explained this was my first visit, they explained the Curio concept, the various areas for sitting, sipping and gathering as well as the Curio Card process. They even had a small but really intriguing menu of various snacks, from charcuterie to flatbread and even dessert. The menu changes a couple times a month, making me want to plan more visits! The staff offered me sips of each so I could decide on a Sangria flavor. Despite not being a Moscato fan, I chose the Moscato Mule Sangria. It was light, refreshing and had the Moscow Mule flavors with the added sweetness of Moscato wine. I wandered into the cellar to explore more wine offerings and wound up running into fellow educators and their friends I had never met. We chatted like we were catching up and laughed about shared birthdays and teaching!! They invited me to hang with them, but I had to get home for Dog Mom Duty. We exchanged numbers so we could plan another "run-in" downtown SOON! If you haven't visited Curio, I HIGHLY recommend it. Bring a friend, or plan on making a few. Next time, I'll be ordering food with my wine and lingering much longer! Thanks for a great end to my week. See y'all soon! Cheers!

The service is wonderful, with staff being very knowledgeable about the wines. What I love is the fact that you can taste as many wines as you want to once you've loaded up your Curio card. You can also choose a 2oz or 3oz pour instead if you already know what you want. I haven't tried the food here yet, but I'll definitely be coming back for the cinnamon spiced sangria and the mulled wine (must be bought from the bar. Not available on tap.) A must for all wine lovers.

One side of the main building is the winery area, and the other side is the brewery area, the signage is a little hard to decipher, but it's pretty easy to figure out by asking. The wines were delicious, I tried a white and a red, and Anna, who served me, was very patient with my questions, even though the line was long. I appreciated that and I didn't feel rushed. The other young lady also helped me, and the staff was incredibly nice, even though the line was very long. There are multiple picnic tables out in the open area in front of the stage, and there's a lovely seating area right in front of the winery and around the side, and there's even a little hidden grotto that's very pretty. They have lights outside, so it probably looked very pretty after dark too. If you want to sit at the picnic tables, pick one under a tree, because the sun does get pretty brutal. I also recommend possibly bringing something to sit on, or you can bring a blanket and sit in the grass. I brought a large cooler with a picnic,, and they did come and inspect it, but it was fairly perfunctory. I brought my own nonalcoholic things to drink, in glass bottles, and I had my own glass, and there was not an issue with that. I would advise bringing some food, as at this gathering I think the only food truck was a pizza truck. When I had gone before, they gave the option of a fruit and cheese platter, but I didn't see any this time. I think the food trucks rotate, but you could probably call and ask. It's a lovely place, but if you don't know where you're going, you might miss it, so look for the sign in and a white truck with black lettering with the name of the brewery and the Vineyard on it. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this for an afternoon, and they have rotating bands that play, and it makes for a lovely day out.

We were seated promptly, no awkward hovering, and our waitress showed up friendly, sharp, and knowing her way around the menu--which is a quality that ought to be listed right next to "clean silverware." We started with the crab and corn chowder, and let me say this right now: the crab was not there for decoration. It announced itself. Big flavor, no apologies, the way crab chowder ought to be. Second round was the smoked salmon salad. Perfect. The salmon was excellent, but that tarragon caper dressing had a way of making you slow down and think about life choices. I would put that dressing on just about anything that didn't move fast enough. For the main event, I chose the scallops, and I am prepared to testify they were as good as any I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, sitting pretty with an aioli that knew its job and did it well. My wife ordered the beef medallions, and I'll admit this with humility: looking back, I may have chosen wrong. Those medallions were expertly prepared and packed with flavor, the kind that makes you reconsider your own plate. We finished with cheesecake and berries. The cheesecake did its part. The berries... well, not every inning is a home run. Fortunately, the wine stepped in like a good relief pitcher and made everything right again. Through it all, the service never slipped. We were treated the way folks ought to be treated when they go out to celebrate something that matters. And that, in my book, counts just as much as what's on the plate. Sorry for the lack of pictures the food and wine kept my attention

I seriously did not expect a restaurant in Fredericksburg to meet our expectations. Service was spot on as well. The beef medallions were tender and cooked perfectly medium. The shrimp were unexceptional next to the medallions. The cauliflower and other veggies with a hint of basil were lovely. The scallops were tender and fresh --so rare these days that we rarely order them. We chose a bottle of wine instead of wine pairings and our server helped us navigate the extensive wine list. The Beaumes de Venise red was a great choice because we are not so fond of white wine. The pot de chocolat and creme brulee were a perfect ending to an outstanding meal.

The pairings were intelligent and intentional. Each bourbon enhanced the flavors on the plate without overpowering them, and each course revealed new dimensions with every sip. It was clear that nothing about this menu was accidental. The creativity, precision, and care behind every detail were evident throughout the night. The service deserves special recognition. The servers were attentive without ever being intrusive, almost stealthily slipping in and out to ensure every need was met at exactly the right moment. Their timing and professionalism made the entire experience feel seamless and refined. A highlight of the evening was the storytelling from A. Smith Bowman's distiller, whose mix of wisdom and humor added a memorable layer to the night. We are quite certain we will never look at a wine barrel bung hole again without thinking we should probably sniff it first to see if it is good. Chef Cody and his team did not just create a wonderful dinner. They created fans. We cannot wait for the next opportunity to dine with them again.

At 12:25 p.m., the hostess informed us they were catching up on tables but that we would be seated soon. At 12:30 p.m., we were finally seated. Our waitress did not greet us warmly, make eye contact, introduce herself, or provide any information about the restaurant or menu. At 12:45 p.m., we ordered our food and drinks, and at 12:50 p.m., our drinks arrived. Around 1:30 p.m., we realized our food still had not come out, while other tables being served by our waitress were receiving prompt and friendly service. Our waitress passed our table four times without stopping to provide an update on our food or apologize for the extensive wait time. We were finally able to get her attention and politely asked about the status of our order. Without an apology or acknowledgment of our experience, she responded that she would tell the chefs to "rush" our order. We never asked for our food to be rushed -- we simply wanted an update because we had already been waiting far longer than expected. When our food was eventually brought out by another staff member, it was cold after nearly two hours of waiting. At that point, my husband asked to speak with the manager because not only was the wait time unacceptable, but the food was also cold. The manager eventually came to our table, apologized for the delay, and offered to discount the meal. My husband thanked him for the apology, but by that point, we decided the experience was not worth salvaging. We told the manager we did not want the cold food or watered-down drinks. Not only was our Mother's Day celebration ruined, but the lack of accountability from the staff and the poor customer service made the entire experience extremely disappointing.
