A staple in the area, I had my concerns after the management changed, but the Commus inn continues to deliver, great dinner and brunch menus as well as a nice bier garden to enjoy in the summer! Service is always spot on and friendly, with great atmosphere, presentation. The only critique is the food served at the bier garden. The quality of it does not match that of the food served in the dining room, which is a shame.

First time visiting although I have driven past it many times. We went for brunch and arrived 15 min before opening. It is a part of the Civil War Trail so we went over to read a bit of history. We went in when the waiter put the Open flag up. The Inn is historical and very well kept. I love old buildings and the use of space is perfect. We ordered the crab pretzel and it was our first time having it. It contained lump crab meat and the pretzel was PERFECT!! Delicious and certainly a starter I would get again . For brunch we had shrimp n grits, and the pancakes with Irish knockers. Both were DELICIOUS!! The portion size was perfect! All fresh food. Because I can I ordered the Irish coffee and I loved it!! I will come back and as a matter of fact we are considering this as a sight for the family celebration. You will not be disappointed!

Come for a good time, not a yummy time - at least at the spot downstairs. Super cute and incredibly Instaworthy, unfortunately not the same experience that I had upstairs years ago with the last owners. Tacos fell apart at the first bite. Seriously, EVERY SINGLE ONE. They're super small too and if they're that thin, you guys should seriously consider using a second taco shell to catch the fixins. The duck popcorn tastes like regular popcorn (which wasn't that much for the price) and my family complained that the chips seemed stale. Small amount of guac for the extra $2. Basically, for the three tacos, a drink, and the popcorn + tip $60. Plus, they're not even table servicing you. The real value you get is for the dog friendly space & beautiful views. Perhaps the upstairs area is still really good food wise but the downstairs area did not live up to my 5* review & memory from years ago.

Took our parents to this restaurant and it was so good! The location has plenty of parking in their private big parking lot, and the inside of the restaurant is charming. The staff were all very nice and accommodating. We had the salad, steak, salmon and the roasted chicken. The roasted chicken was so tender, it fell off the bone. Would 10/10 recommend

11/15/24 update New management, new vibe. Started out with a Sugarloaf red blend. Ive had this before and love it. I next had Focaccia bread fresh made with honey butter. The Chef let me taste a very good chicken Tortellini soup. Very tasty but had peppers. I promised to come back for butternut nut squash soup- I am craving having this soup. In the interim I met beer brewer from Vanish Brewery, Lubbock, Va. supplies the brewskies downstairs. Had a tasty mango drink- my now go to- thanks Christian! Got a Tiramisu from scratch to go- soooo good. Ill be back!!!!!

This review is only for the beer garden. A friend and I came here after a weekend hike at Sugarloaf and it was busy with all outdoor tables full. We came right before brunch was ending so I was able to put in my order for a fall farro salad ($13). We waited 35-40 minutes for our food (my friend ordered an avocado toast). For the price, the portion was very small. However, I really enjoyed the salad. There are around 10 beers on draft at $10 a pour, and other options of cocktails (pitchers are available for some drinks). It is a bit pricey. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here. There's indoor and outdoor seating, with games such as shuffle board, connect 4, and ping pong. It's also dog friendly with water bowls. There's a good sized private parking lot.

This food ruined my life. I didn't eat it, it looked sloppy and tasted off. It did not pass the sniff test as well.

Good food and fast service. Outdoor space has chairs and nice view of mountains. Nice menu that is different from traditional cuisine.

Food: bar food, fried, unhealthy but party worthy Lane quality: the one we were originally assigned to #15 was not working and moved to 13 Service: check in and shoe service was great, but the lady at the bar was a little harsh speaking, given it was our first time there, I wasn't aware that WE HAVE TO order all of our drinks through our waiter, so I went to the bar ordered two drink drinks and was harshly told I cannot add it to my tab , so I walked away & ...:-( ... about 20min later the drinks were brought over by our waiter ‍ Price: we paid about $100 for 5 ppl for 1 lane of 2 he with shoes, and over $100 for a mixed platter with 4 drinks, not bad for the bowling part, a bit pricey for the food and drinks. Will return & hope to receive a better servive from the bar side.

Lane broke 6 times--for my party of 6 people we did six frames in 1.5 hrs. Almost every other lane was in use and working. They never moved us to unused lanes even though I had to walk up to the counter every time. EVEN AN EMPLOYEE who wasn't on the clock and playing in a lane next to us tried to help. 2. Constantly played highly sexual hip hop music videos even though there were tons of kids. 3. We ordered food but after it never came, we asked for a refund, were given 3 free game vouchers each and then we left. Never finished the 1st game. I love bowling, last summer I came all the time with a season pass. Same management and employees after 6 months, but it's just not a good bowling alley. It's meant for parties and food. Obviously very disappointed, not wanting to go back, but need to use the free games vouchers to make it worth the money we spent.

Expectations were high, after my sister's go to craft brewery closed down and her husband took to Stone Silo immediately, signing up to be a club member. The building itself did have a stone silo on property that opened up to fields. There was a rustic, farm type feel walking in the front door. Welcomed by stone and dark colored woods, the facility was quite large and clean with ample seating. A glance outside there were fire pits and chairs to sit set, along with an 'adult only' section if you don't like your craft with a crying 2 year old. I sampled a few beer including the IPA, which was a bit underwhelming, but expected since the West Coast is known for quality IPAs. I settled on the Japanese rice lager, 'Nojo with Yuzu.' What a mistake! Not something I could get behind and I like yuzu too. Just too tart for a lager and not what I was looking for in my light beer selection. Second round I tried their Czech style dark lager, Clever Crow. Not sure what about this was supposed to be lager, it really felt more porter-ish to me, did not drink light and just not what I was looking for in a dark lager. The grounds and staff were great, it was a fun place to hang with family, but maybe I just made two poor beer decisions. Expected a bit more from the taps but would be willing to go back and give Stone Silo a second chance, as I know my bro-in-law will want to go back since it's close to the house
