Very lucky to have it within our neighborhood. The Steinway piano is certainly one of the best available for hosting piano recitals. Just wanted to take the time to leave a review. From the beginning to the end the staff at the mansion was very helpful. Antonia was so nice when walking us through the final set up. Any questions we had they would respond immediately. The venue itself was beautiful, if you are looking for a small/ medium size wedding this place is amazing. Our guest loved the unique look to the mansion. Everyone said it looked like a movie. Their prices are very reasonable. You get the whole mansion, including two beautiful rooms upstairs for the groom and bride to get ready in (really nice for pictures). Our ceremony was outside, and you really don't need much of decorations because the mansion itself is so beautiful. I would highly recommend, they made my day stress-free and special. read more

What a stunning venue! Quaint, charming, beautifully decorated, and attention to detail make the Kentland's Mansion a perfect place for parties. There are many areas to seat guests and serve food. I attended a baby shower there today and was so impressed by this place. The fireplaces, chandeliers, and woodwork make this a picture perfect venue for many different kinds of events. The only drawback is that the Kentland's Mansion is tucked inside the the Kentland's development and a little tricky to find. I was thanking my GPS for finding the place. Me and my friend attended the Murder at the Mansion Event. It was very interesting and engaging. It was slightly cramped as we were seated in a room with a lot of chairs, a desk, and not a lot of space to move around- but they made it work somehow. There's a performance, you guess who the "murderer" is, you turn in your slip, and then there's a "reveal". If you guessed correctly you're entered into a raffle for a prize. Fairly entertaining. There was also free candy and lots of delicious desserts! read more

Absolutely beautiful. My friend recently had a wedding reception there, but the reception was not a normal one. Because she had the full wedding in Scotland, where she was born, she decided to do a USA wedding reception/ cocktail hour to celebrate with her friends, and the grooms friends over here. The mansion is spectacular for this sort of set up. Being that it does not have an enoumous room (as old mansions usually dont) to have a dinner where everyone sits down- it was just perfect for this reception. Beautiful paintings were hung up by the Gaithersburg Art Barn. If you were having a wedding with 40 people this might be the perfect place. If you're having a cocktail reception, landmark birthday, anniversary, etc. This might be the perfect place. It has a beautiful lawn around it and a fantastic amount of great places to take pictures. The upstairs is very unique and well decorated as well. Lots of outdoor seating. It was just really really nice. read more

When planning a wedding during a pandemic, you need people who will keep you calm and focused throughout the process, and that's just what I got when I had my micro-wedding at Kentlands Mansion. From the beginning, Lisa's enthusiasm about the space during the tour sold my fiancé and I on the location. While we were originally hoping for 50, with the continued Montgomery County Restrictions we knew that wouldn't be possible. Lisa reached out regularly with updates and when we found out we could have a small gathering of 25 on our original date, we jumped at the opportunity. Lisa helped coordinate all details, offering advice on everything from catering options to place settings. On the day of, Melissa and Antonia were amazing! They listened as I hastily asked their assistance in setting up and they even made sure my wedding photos highlighted key backdrops at the mansion. The staff at Kentlands is fantastic and I would gladly have an event there again. (Just not during a pandemic). read more

From initial contact to the very end of our celebration, Kristy and Kentland's Mansion staff was totally professional, courteous and accommodating. We had to plan during Covid-19 restrictions, so we needed lots of help and they were there for us. The venue itself was perfect for our celebration; we decorated and it really felt as though we were in a lovely mansion. On-site staff during the event was friendly, fun and extremely helpful. The grand piano in the foyer was perfect for our musician; my guests loved it. I have no complaints with entire process from start to finish. We had our wedding at this sweet, beautiful venue last week. Folks get married outside in warm weather but it was December so not us :) The venue is unique. There will always be an art exhibit installed which changes every 3 months. You may use any licensed caterer and bartender. There is a kitchen for warming and cooling food as no cooking may be done here. The fridge is professional size and accommodates a lot. Every inch of this property is immaculate! The bride's changing room is large and pretty. There are endless spots for beautiful pictures. The staff is welcoming and professional. Lisa Kim is outstanding as a communicator and if she can be your on site person for your wedding you will be in great hands. Loved it!!!!!! read more

We had our wedding reception here last weekend (60 guests), and everything was PERFECT!! We worked with Kristy and Terri, who were absolutely delightful, helpful, organized, friendly, and accommodating in every way. The Mansion was spotless every time we visited. The venue and the grounds are beautiful and impeccably maintained. The flow is terrific for a party. And the air-conditioning is great (very important in this part of the country in July)! Anna, our facility supervisor on the day of, was very accommodating and helpful with getting us what we need (e.g. extra chairs, tables, iPod speakers). Nestled in the heart of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Kentlands Mansion reflects the beauty and grandeur of the early 1900s, with 22-foot ceilings, dark wooden paneling, polished hardwood floors, and crystal chandeliers. The wedding reception I attended yesterday from 2pm - 5pm was 100% perfect. Well-appointed dining room, formally furnished parlor, yellow banquet room and adjoining Helz Music Room offer the perfect atmosphere for your event. The food served was very tasty and plenty of room to walk around or sit outside in the cool air. This mansion offers an ideal setting for a garden wedding filled with flowers, lush grass and manicured shrubs. Parking is free and plentiful. read more

Beautiful Venue / Affordable / Nice / Some Major Issues The Good - -an upstairs with changing rooms / showers and a balcony for unique pictures -a kitchen sufficient for any caterer -multiple rooms with varying sizes - can have up to 100 people (but 75 I would say is the comfortable number) -an outdoor patio (with fans / outdoor heaters and ability to close up if winter time) -Air Conditioned and Heated interior -A Wedding Coordinator is included in your costs -Unlimited communication between you and your coordinator -Ability to visit the venue multiple times when it's not rented out -Main Level Bathrooms for both men and women -Coat hanging area -They will supply all of the bathroom supplies -Ability to have ceremony and reception in same location -Ability for an outdoor wedding or indoor wedding -Indoor areas are beautifully decorated The Bad - -The coordinator we had wasn't so good as during our event our coordinator was doing nothing and in her office a few times, and also did not offer to help and just stood there looking at her cell phone. I won't name names here as I don't think it's fair to point fingers so I'll keep it general. Perhaps the person who performed poorly will read this and learn from her mistakes. -The chairs were put out but not put out correctly and then not corrected by our coordinator we had to catch this error and fix it, they just had 2 - 3 chairs just sitting in the middle of the room. The coordinator should have fixed this once she saw the error, not us. -We were told the bird shit off the benches on the exterior of the mansion would be cleaned off and it was not. We had to ask them during our photo shoot with our wedding photographer and had to shoot other shots before coming back to this area for pictures. -The upstairs area has a balcony area which is nice but in our pictures we noticed a lot of brown rust stains which leads us to believe that they should have painted it and are neglecting the place. -The upstairs bathrooms we were told were fully operational. While we were getting ready for our ceremony I wanted to take a shower. I went into my bathroom and the tub was working but the shower head had been ripped out of the wall and there was only a hole there. Then when I went to use the other bathroom which had a showerhead and was fully functional there was zero hot water. I took a freezing cold shower. When I mentioned this to our coordinator after the event, she didn't even apologize as she said, "oh yeah, it's cold". -No red wine allowed at all -Candles have restrictions Bottom Line - A great place and rustic feel for a wedding. Affordable and Multiple arrangements for weddings available both indoors and outdoors. Some minor work needs to be done in terms of repairs which would make the place even better. Despite having coordinators there and it being included in your price, I highly recommend either getting your own or just not relying on them for much. read more

We were married on 8/15/15 in the side garden and we couldn't have ask for a better location. The Mansion is beautiful inside and out, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and everything was very affordable. As soon as we booked our ceremony, things were seamless and stress-free! We had a graduation party at the mansion on a beautiful early summer evening. The location was perfect for our 75 guests. The mansion is nicely decorated and there is plenty of room inside, as well there are tables and a nice-sized lawn outside. Our guests were able to flow inside and outside throughout the night. The side porch can hold a few tables and is lit up by string lights. If the weather is nice, they roll up the awnings. The staff was extremely helpful in getting all the details arranged prior to the party and they always communicated with me right away if there was a question. There is always a staff member on site during the party to help with any issues that arise. There are a lot of rules, such as decibel limits for music (the mansion is in a residential neighborhood), extra fees for red wine, and a requirement for a chaperone for every 10 guests under the age of 21 - but the party was a big success and everyone had fun. I would definitely recommend this venue for parties or smaller weddings. read more

Very nice venue and Terry Izquierda is off-the hook lovely and amazing but on-site event managers are rude pretentions people that are intolerable to kids so if you will have juveniles at your wedding or party, take note that they will be so rude to them, even hold them hostage in a room and yell at them against their will - best to skip the Kentlands Mansion for any event where kids are invited. They are not friendly or accommodating but invent capricious rules after the fact. read more

Cannot say enough good things about this venue and the planner I worked with (Terry Izquierda). Lovely mansion with just enough rooms for people to wander and yet still be part of the action. We held a large 50th birthday celebration here, and EVERYONE raved about it. Not only are the location and price right on target, but Terry was wonderfully on point with everything, including guidance and recommendations when I specifically asked for them (hugely important to the success of this event). The mansion also agreed to leave up decorations from another event they had so that we could enjoy them during the birthday celebration -- perfect, perfect, perfect.
