Quicken Tournament Review:…read more Kyle Stanley is the 2017 Quicken Loan Champion. We received an invitation to come watch the tourney & hang out in one of the VIP tents...it was good times. The Par 70 golf course is situated in the middle or amongst Avenel Farm, providing regal views of the residential, equestrian, swimming & tennis amenities. The landscape & upkeep was impressive throughout the golf course & surrounding greenery. The staff inside our tent were extremely hospitable, especially during the interment rain fall as they reset as many times necessary to accommodate everyone. The food & beverages were decent. I even popped my head into the Mad House to look around & the employees on hand were just as friendly. The only negative point of our visit was the interaction with the red shirt staff at the main entrance to the tourney if you did not have a parking pass...we opted to take Uber. Aside from their constant screaming that they work for the Tiger Woods Foundation, they were rude & boisterous to the Courtesy Shuttle Operators & individuals seeking assistance. Other than that, it was an enjoyable & entertaining 1st visit to watch championship golf.

Overpriced, lots of stress…read more We found out about L'ambiance and Priti through our wedding planner while preparing for our wedding Dec 2020. Covid ultimately shut down our event. As a result, we had to eat a portion of the cost of flowers for the event as well as needing to contract to use them for when we rescheduled. This was fine and we ate that cost. When we were able to finally manage to get all vendors to agree on a new date, we found out that l'ambiance increased fees as now the wedding would take place in the summer. Keep that in mind when planning. Priti was busy and unable to meet with me in person to actually start planning until maybe 10 weeks before the rescheduled and larger wedding. We went back and fourth many times on ideas and ultimately finalized our contract merely two weeks before the wedding. At this point, even if I didn't like the pricing, there was no time for me to even shop around for anyone else. There were many little mistakes/fees added such as any supplies they had prepared to use for the canceled dec wedding and the prices of things were not consistent between contracts. (My advice is to print each proposal bc you cannot refer to the previous to see what she was charging, so if one price was negotiated down, something else was "mistakingly" increased to recoup costs) Also the week before the wedding she realized her system had made a mistake on the contract and needed us to re-adjust yet again. Just extremely stressful and didn't really foster trust from my perspective. Ultimately, the finished product was fine. There were things that she claimed to take "artistic" liberties on but that mostly looked like they ran out of flowers plus she never ran those "liberties" past me. For someone spending 30k + divided between two events, she never connected with us after she got her money. When you are doing your budgeting, also add that you will have to provide a lot of hotel rooms for her workers even if the venue is only 1.5 hours away from her office. Also, some of her workers were found to have crashed our wedding and got drunk off our open bar and were found puking behind the event location. I'm glad they had a hotel nearby to sober up to break down the decor on Sunday morning. She will deny this. In the end, I would advise that you carefully review your contracts and that no matter what you agree and sign for, vendors can/and will change it last minute as there is no contract police to help you on your wedding day. Also, be aware that anything custom made for your event you will pay exorbitant pricing for and you will not be able to keep it without paying an even bigger price to take it off her hands. Long story short, end product was fine, sure, but very overpriced. Be prepared for a lot of miscommunication back and fourth and last minute contract changes as you will find many mistakes. Very stressful process.

As a HQ employee of USPS its impossible for me to be unbiased about this place…read more You see, I am often here for training and I often feel trapped. But, that's more of a me-thing. The first couple dozen times I came here, I was delighted and that's why they are getting 5-stars. Some great things about the Bolger Center: - The staff! Everyone is INCREDIBLY friendly and accomodating! - The food: it's good, and plentiful...I might even say *too* plentiful - The rooms: they used to be itty-bitty and cramped (and many still are) but they have done a ton of renovations to make things better - Fun theme nights: Wednesday is crab-leg night, Wednesday is also karaoke night at the Pony Express (the bar), Tuesday at the Pony is trivia night, etc. - The costs are very reasonable and competitive Some things that annoy me: - You can't get your own food at the buffet anymore. And sometimes the staff don't have the best English. Usually this is something I do not care about at all, but sometimes there is a language barrier when you're trying to communicate what you want on your salad. - If you are renting this facility to give a training...BEWARE: you will be aggressively nickel-and-dimed if you require any additional help/supplies that are not explicitly in your contract! What I really don't like: - You feel stuck here. Downtown DC is a long ways away and expensive to get here, so you start to feel trapped the more you come here. I wish they had a shuttle into DC proper or something.

Wendy was with us every step of the way...and was there throughout the wedding and reception.... She was our voice of reason when we needed one. She told my husband and I what was important to spend money on and where we could save. The result...a wedding that looked 3 times more expensive than it was, a very happy Bride and Groom, and relaxed rested Parents who had a wonderful time. Wendy was so pleasant and FUN to work with. She was extremely professional, very positive, always calm, and confident. Our guests are still talking about how magical the venue was - Wendy took an ordinary ball room and transformed it into cascading flowers, floating crystals, candle light, guests dancing into the night, and a wedding that my daughter and son-in-law were very proud of...it was a night to remember... When the Woodley Park Guest House livingsocial deal came up, we did a bit of research on the place and then decided that it sounded like a greta place to stay. This B&B is ranked #2 in DC on tripadvisor's website (#1 is owned by the same company) and I can totally see why they have such excellent ratings. The B&B is exactly what I was looking for. Right on a metro line (red about a block away, unless you take the elevator which is even closer) and had a number of things to do within walking distance. We arrived around 3pm on a Thursday and checked in and was given a quick tour of the place. Our room was the bay window room on the second floor. It was quite nice. After we checked in we went for a stroll around the zoo (three blocks up the road on the right). Then headed down towards Dupont Circle and got some great coffee (Filter) and some gelato! Then took the metro back. Everything was extremely clean and the staff was super helpful. We spent every night out on the porch drinking some wine (part of the livingsocial deal) and people watching. This is in a very safe part of town and all around nice. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area! My only complaint is that the boy and I like to sleep in and the walls are pretty thin so we could hear other guests knocking on the doors and talking, but that was a very minor issue.
