Recently attended a wedding here. There were about 125 people in attendance, including the wedding party. Both the ceremony and reception were at The Middleburg Barn. The parking was easy to access and real close to the venue. The ceremony was nice, but the chairs were very close together and they didn't put any extra chairs out. They only had enough chairs for the number of people who attended. (I didn't appreciate this during COVID.) Furthermore, some people's view was blocked by pillars. This continued into the reception. We couldn't see some of the dancing and speeches because of the pillars. The Barn has one big room that is separated into by a partition for cocktail hour. I was surprised that all 100+ people easily fit in this smaller area. Part of the reason it worked was because they have a nice little loft where some people went for cocktail hour. As for the acoustics, I give this place 5 out of 5 stars. Granted it has a lot to do with the quality of the DJ's speakers, but it has good acoustics. The aesthetics of The Barn were okay. I feel like they were confused as to what they wanted to do when designing the space. They have 2 beautiful chandeliers that would be a perfect fit in a ball room, but don't work with the wood features. The last thing that I found a little distasteful was that you could see the tables that were going to be used for the reception during the ceremony. read more

My sister's wedding was at Middleburg Barn on June 6, 2021 and it was was beautiful. The wedding day went smoothly with the nice scenery. The biggest issue that is making this a one star review was talking with the general manager, Maureen. We had great caterers, a day of coordinator, and fellow friends to help set up and clean up. We specifically let the professional caterers handle the tables and chairs for both set up and clean up while our friends and family focused only on the decorations. Yesterday night on June 7th we received an email about huge scuffs and scratches on the floor which caused us to ultimately lose our security deposit. Maureen handled the matter by speaking to us in an accusatory tone towards our friends who helped with set up and clean up. She did not hear us out and she quickly drew the conclusion that it was our friends who must've caused the damage without any evidence. Maureen was not their to oversee the set up and clean up and did NOT witness anyone creating these scuff marks. The biggest issue we had was when my dad was trying to figure things out with Maureen over the phone and she decided to hang up on him rather than sort things out in a professional manner. Overall, we are understanding of the terms in the contract, yet we did not expect to be treated with such little respect and unprofessionalism as we are customers and Maureen is the manager. The fact that she so quickly accused our friends and family is why we are upset with this venue. If the conversations had gone differently with Maureen, this would have been a totally different review. read more

My cousin just got married at the Middleburg Barn and it was an amazing venue. The landscape and property is stunning, the barn is beautiful inside and out. There were a few hiccups( not the owners fault) during the day and the owners and staff went above and beyond to help us smooth them out. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a tasteful and intimate location to have a special event. read more

Where do I begin with my review for the Fox Chase Farm? First things first, Maureen, the Venue Manager was incredible to work with. She had such an amazing vision for this new venue (our wedding reception was at the new Middleburg Barn on property) that completely came to life. The barn is beautiful & fully air conditioned, plus big enough to seat my over 200 person wedding - which is next to impossible to find in this area without resorting to a tented outdoor set-up. Even with that much floor space, the cozy feel of the natural wood inside still managed to make a large wedding feel intimate and personal. We chose to have our cocktail hour outside on the large full-length patio and lawn. Our guests raved about the the lake-side property, and I felt good knowing that the patio had a large roof that could accommodate everyone just in case it rained. Maureen was okay with us putting lawn games out so we kicked off the reception with corn hole and cocktails which was perfect. The venue has PLENTY of parking for guests and the parking lot is strategically placed such that it's steps away from the the patio, but it isn't visible to guests once they're there, and it didn't show up in any of our pictures. The inside space was equally fabulous. Two huge chandeliers, pre-installed lighting, a bridal suite - you name it. We also opted to use Maureen's included round tables and chiavari chairs - which was a huge saving, as we didn't have to rent them from an outside vendor. Even with our head table, 200 guests, dance floor, and photo booth, we still had space for an adorable sitting area using furniture that was ALSO included. Maureen also recommended both our Florist (Rick's Flowers) and Caterer (Smokin' Willy BBQ) - both of which we loved, so she's really in tune with quality wedding vendors in the area. Can't say enough great things about this space and would ABSOLUTELY recommend this venue for your big day! read more

Beauty isn't everything; challenging venue and management After a few postponements of our wedding due to the pandemic, we were finally able to have a celebratory reception last summer at the Middleburg Barn. The feel of the place is truly beautiful, with its lush lawn, wood interior and elegant chandelier. Throughout the planning/re-planning process that ensued amid COVID, we soon learned that beauty isn't everything. We found the staff at TMB challenging to work with, and thus would not recommend as a venue to other couples. Our families are South Asian, and our wedding requires very specific rituals (offerings of raw rice, walking around a fire, starting the ceremony quite early in the AM). When we went in for our walk-through, the general manager Maureen had been very affirming and accommodating of all our specific needs, saying we could stay at the property as long as needed, that the rice / fire should be no problem. In hindsight, we realize this was the manager being salesy to get us to book the place; we were later asked to pay for extra hours and told later that actually no rice would be allowed inside and outside of the building. It was unfortunate that we could have avoided the stress and uncertainty this caused had the manager been upfront with their requirements; that was a core part of our wedding, so we would not have picked a place that did not allow it. The property has a lot of rules and is quite restrictive around which vendors they will allow; this is particularly prohibitive to people of non-American backgrounds, who may need to hire other/diverse vendors to meet their wedding day needs. Communication with the management at TMB lacked empathy; in the uncertainty of needing to postpone our dates pre-vaccine, Maureen would very bluntly remind that the "venue doesn't owe us anything in rescheduling our date." While that may be contractually true, we feel the management could improve in their communication style with paying customers. The management was also disorganized; trying to re-charge us for something that was listed as included in our original contract and at times copying other Indian vendors (not the ones we had hired) in communication emails about our wedding. All this boiled up to a lot of stress for us and our families; we respectfully suggest others dodge the bullet. We understand that 2020 and even 2021 have been extremely challenging for vendors in the wedding and events business - we worked with several vendors who also bore the brunt of navigating the pandemic. However, nobody handled the circumstances with as little empathy as TMB. My hope is that TMB takes this feedback in stride going forward, and rather than "respectfully responding" with justifications for these missteps, simply adjusts their approach so more couples and families of all backgrounds can enjoy their beautiful property in the future. read more

I am very disappointed we had a great time all night for the wedding we are newly weds and the night ended horribly for everyone. My dad just recently passed away a few months back so that's been hard enough especially right before my wedding. Then this has to happen it's awful to think we put so much time into this wedding and ended up getting kicked out at the end. We DID NOT know we could not do some fire lanterns. They ARE NOT fire works. I could see if everyone got shit faced fine or doing drugs, but this was completely different. Furthermore the owner got the police involved! For what?! Just to make some drama. Now we are kicked out and the cottage is paid for until TOMORROW. Will never go back. read more

I enrolled my 10 year old daughter in a one week riding camp. Maureen was wonderful and called back after initially telling me that there were no more places to say someone had pulled out, making my daughter very happy. All the instructors and their assistants were fantastic. They made the small group feel so welcome and relaxed and really did teach the kids a lot. The week culminated with a one hour demonstration for parents and family to show us all what they had learned. And they all came away with a ribbon and trophy. Highly recommended!!! read more

Fox Chase Farm Middleburg Barn was the perfect venue for my daughter's wedding reception. Maureen Hanley, owner/manager was extremely easy to work with; friendly, flexible and funny. What more can one ask for? The Barn was a highly versatile space capable of holding the 200+ invited guests. It had the rustic barn atmosphere that my daughter was looking for yet was elegant with its beautiful crystal chandeliers and breathtaking programmable lighting system making it magical. Guests enjoyed cocktails on the lovely covered patio overlooking acres of green rolling hills with a pond, fountain, and gazebo that made for a spectacular back-drop for photos. A beautiful horse from the equestrian area was walked around the Barn so the newlyweds and guests could interact and have a photo op. The guest house, The Cottage at Fox Chase Farm, was to our disposal for use as a bridal suite, quiet space for elderly and young guests, or for those needing a place to crash. read more

Fox Chase Farm was a lifesaver for me. I had an outdoor wedding planned at a relative's home in their backyard and what are the chances the 4th hurricane to hit the east coast would come! It was a mess! I called around trying to look for places to accommodate 130 people for a ceremony and reception. I was really thinking I had no chance but thought I would give it a try. I called 8 different places on Wednesday before my wedding and thankfully Maureen from Fox Chase called me back! I checked out the venue that day and thought it was perfect. I wanted a rustic barn wedding and that is exactly what was delivered. Beth (the event planner for Fox Chase) was very helpful in getting the vision and setting everything up and assuring me that it was going to work and it did! Everybody loved the venue and said it was perfect and would have thought I planned the wedding the entire time there! I'm very excited to work with them again in the future!!!
