I have been a Cavallo farm client since 2000, and during that time I have run the spectrum from lesson program participant, to lessee, to boarder. In each of these roles, I have been extremely satisfied with the quality of instruction and service provided to me as a client. As a rider in the lesson program, I received excellent instruction on well-schooled, well cared-for horses, and as a boarder I never once had to worry about my horse receiving the care he needed. I recently moved to North Carolina, and had I not been able to find a stall in a suitable barn as quickly as I did, I would have had no qualms leaving my horse, tack, and supplies 250 miles away at Cavallo. Owners Michael and Marie Bertozzi continuously strive to improve the farm and the services offered to their clients, as is most recently evidenced by the start of construction on a brand-new, show-sized lighted outdoor ring.
Other reviews have touched upon the quality of the training, facilities, and the farm's proximity to major commuting arteries. I would like to comment on the fantastic culture among the Cavallo boarders. The adult boarders and riders are a great group that strikes a good balance between being serious about our riding and competing to the best of our ability while supporting each other and recognizing that, ultimately, this is an expensive hobby that's not worth doing if it's not fun. At every show I've been to, I can count of my barn mates to cheer me on, offer help and advice, and generally make the experience that much more enjoyable. Over the past 13 years that I have been at the farm, we have had a few self-absorbed drama queens arrive but quickly leave when they realize that no one else is interested in playing their games. Crazy never lasts long at Cavallo!
I highly recommend Cavallo Farm to anyone who wants to benefit from great instruction, excellent horse care, and a wonderful group of people to ride and show with. read more
