CAN YOU SAY GLAMOROUS???!!!!! One of my favorite things about walking into the Bubble Lounge In Santa Cruz is that everyone there is so friendly, it feels like i am out shopping with my girlfriends!!!! Not to mention when i went in there and needed help finding an outfit for a special event they sure did make me feel like a million bucks! I not only felt like i had a personal shopper but I wanted everything we picked out! From the amazing wardrobe to the one of a kind jewelry and then the make up!! not many places have bare essentials.. need i say more :)..zI have yet to be waxed there but it is next on the to-do list and i have only heard amazing things!!!!!!! This is the ONLY store in Santa Cruz that has everything i could ever want in one place! When i first found out about the Bubble Lounge, i walked in and thought i was in heaven!! I even remember the exact words out of my mouth "i wish this was my closet!" obviously wishful thinking lol! My most recent purchases have been two bags,(juicy and buddah) and one wallet.. the quality is amazing and i have had them for over six months and they still look brand new and i still love them both! I cant even tell you how many compliments i get on my wallet on the daily! ! I also purchased two pairs of jeans when they first opened that i wear all the time and in no way have they lost there shape! (joes) dont even get me started on their goddesswear selection, i would have never even known goddesswear made skirts!!! sooooo cute and flatering! Terrible experience here - I will NEVER patronize this store again! I purchased facial lotion. Got home, opened one of the two boxes I purchased, threw away the box to one of them and set the product on my counter for two days. Upon opening it further, discovered it was a tinted sunscreen, when I specifically asked for the non-tinted sunscreen. When I went to return it, the owner was at the front desk. I told her what happened and asked her if she could exchange the products for the non-tinted type. She was less than cordial and incredualous that I would even think to ask for an exchange without the original package. While I can appreciate it was opened and brought back without the packaging - any other business owner would have empathized how a mistake could have been made by their employee and, without hesitation (to keep my business) would have offered an exchange. Not this one! Instead, she snarked that the product's manufacturer wouldn't take back product that isn't in it's original packaging. I suggested it could still be sold and she looked at me as if I had 8 heads and as if I were imposition in her store. She made no effort to asuage my situation. After explaining once again, an exchange would be appropriate and that it was a lot of money to pay for a product I did not want and specifically asked for, she told me that she was considering the exchange of the opened product, but because I was being so rude, she wasn't going to grant the exchange. What a piece of work. Once I got one of the two products exchanged, I told her wat a terrible businessman she was. As I turned and left, she curtly said, "Well, I think you're a terrible person!" If I could give 0 stars I would, solely based on the level of service. Heidi was kind, but I would never get waxed by her again or EVER recommend this place for waxing. First of all, on Yelp it says "specializing in EUROPEAN HARD WAX" which is NOT what she used. Her first strip laid was HONEY wax, which should be strictly used NO WHERE NEAR the vagina as it is the roughest wax available. That's the kind of poor quality I would expect from a $20 nail salon brazilian, not a $55 "spa" brazilian. When I told Heidi she needed to stop, she then said that she only uses honey wax on the top (bikini line), but uses a hard wax for the rest. I let her continue, but only using the hard wax (which was one of the most painful hard waxes ever put on me). Upon further talking, she said (in so many words) that she choses the wax she uses based on it being easier for her to work with vs which is least painful for the customer. Uh, what?!?!? So she finished waxing, on a quick look everything was fine, and I get dressed. I get home and change only to realize she had let me off the table with wax still on my butt! Enough wax that I had to throw away my underwear and hope that I could get the wax out of my lulu lemon leggings. This led me to examine her work further, and of course, I still had a patch of hair (not in an area I could easily see when standing, but certainly highly visible to anyone down there, let alone someone trained in waxing) and was bruised. In the years that I have been getting brazilians done, I only ONCE have left a table bruised and that was the worst experience I've ever had. Don't get waxed here. read more

Such a cute store and also...very helpful! Great customer service. In fact, somehow, a bunch of my cards seemed to slip out of my wallet when I was there, and I didn't notice. The owner Katie saw the cards with my name, but no phone number on them. The owner went out of the way to call my bank, who called me to let me know, and then I called the store back. Heidi is the best esthetician ever! I go to her for Microdermabrasion and bikini waxing and I am always satisfied with the results. She knows her stuff and is super friendly and mellow. She goes the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable (she even puts makeup on me after microderm if my skin is red). She doesn't pressure you into spending your entire paycheck, and her pricing isn't ridiculous like most other spas in town! I always look forward to my appointments with Heidi! Bubble Lounge is hands down my favorite store in downtown Santa Cruz. I am not from the area but my parents & I visit a couple times a year & we always stop here to shop. The owner Katie could not be nicer & more helpful of a woman. She says she remembers us when we come in also which is thoughtful. I first discovered Bubble Lounge when it was at their old location randomly & I have been hooked ever since. I always walk out spending $200+ here but their clothes are well worth it & last forever. You can't get items like this anywhere else in SC. They carry name brands such as, Joe Jeans, Hudson Jeans, Sky, Goddess Wear & tons of makeup. I don't come here for the makeup but the clothes are always on point. I got the most beautiful Sky dress here for my sister's wedding. It is expensive, but if you saw it you would understand how unique & well worth the price was. Even my mom, who is the world's most pickiest shopper loves their Goddess Wear sweat outfits here. I also got a pair of Joe jeans on sale! They carry Giants gear clothes also. I really wanted this blinged out sweater but I was on a budget & it was a tad expensive but I regret not buying it now, LOL! The owner is so sweet & so helpful. She is not pushy at all but she will make recommendations based off what she thinks you would like or wouldn't like. She is also very honest too which I appreciate. I tried on a pair of jeans that were kind of tight in the butt & she told me they weren't that flattering. Anyone else would have probably just lied to get your money but I really respect honesty. I saw Heidi who was friendly, but too rushed and not very professional. She applied hard wax which was too hot, didn't clean off all the wax afterwards which ruined a pair of panties, and seemed to just want to get it over with as quickly as possible. The atmosphere was not relaxing or soothing in any way, which just added insult to (intentional) injury. The next day I took my underwear back in to show the manager/owner, but rather than offering to reimburse me in any way, she just said, "Heidi won the the Good Times award for best waxer in the county." I went to Heidi for a Brazilian and lip wax and she was amazing! She is very easy to talk to and never rushes you. I was 10 minutes late to my appointment and thought she wouldn't take me, but she did and was so nice about it. She uses hard wax so it doesn't hurt very much. I stayed completely hairless for a week and a half. I've been to places where it starts growing back after 5 days. I haven't gotten my lip waxed in a while because I usually get lots of red bumps afterward, but with Heidi I could not believe how silky and smooth my skin was after. Not a single ingrown hair. Not only that, but she gives HUGE discounts to students. My brazilian and lip was only $40! As a broke college student I appreciate this very much! I also come here for my bare minerals makeup which is very hard to find in Santa Cruz! The people who work there are so nice and very helpful and seem to be very knowledgeable about makeup. They also have tons of OPI nail polish colors that are very hard to find anywhere else. I will definitely continue coming here for waxing because the staff is so nice and the environment is really good. Most waxing places feel like a factory, you're in and out in 10 minutes and you feel very rushed. But Bubble Lounge is calm and relaxing. I highly recommend! read more

I had a formal dinner event to attend and needed so many random things that I thought I would be running all over town crossing things off my list and wasting a day...but I didn't have to because I stumbled upon this cool little shop!! Not only did I get the exactly what I was looking for, but I picked up some fab perfume (not sold in department stores) and got my make up done by Velvet. It was perfect. I came to get a wax and the service was timely and the ladies were very nice. Heidi was very thorough and got all the hairs. The prices are the lowest I've found in Santa Cruz. The store is cute and has a great makeup selection. Unfortunately, Heidi seemed to have a hard time giving me clean lines as a waxer. The strip of my Brazilian is uneven, even after I pointed out several hairs for her to pluck that were outside the straight lines. I'm also unhappy with my brows. The lines simply aren't clean and the brows are not very symmetrical. The waxing took a long time and was the most painful I've ever had. Granted, it had been a while since I'd waxed, but I've had quicker, better jobs done under the same conditions. I've had worse Brazilians, but I've also had way better Brazilians for the same price. I've never had brows as uneven as this from a professional waxer. It's a shame because Heidi is really sweet and I like her a lot. I'm going to give them a second chance, because their prices are so good and they're so nice, by letting them know my complaints and asking to see the other waxer next time. Ultimately, the only reason I'm going back is because Farmacy is closed and everywhere else is to expensive. The girls at Farmacy at least paid better attention to detail and did cleaner work. read more

Ok so I have gone to this store twice now and not until I read the reviews on Yelp did I even know that they provide waxing services. Both times I went I was greeted nicely when I entered but that was about it. Seemed like the staff had other things to do than to educate the potential buyer on the services the store provides. Yes, it does have some really cute things and there is a large make up bar but I would not even have a clue that they provide any type of services so to say. I would just kindly like to recommend that the staff maybe take a little interest in the customer and give them a little run down about the store and what is available to the customer especially with the holidays coming up. I realize the store is on the mall and depends a lot on foot traffic and some tourist trade as well but the locals are what will keep you going when the tourist season is over and if we don't know what you provide then we can't make a educated guess as to whom we want to spend our money with.
