This is my favorite go to place for a blow dry or quick style refresh between my regular cut/color appointments. I've been to different stylists and they all do a great job. I have my favorites but sometimes they're not always available so I recommend pre-booking when you find the stylus that's right for you. Also, I love the vibe. The location itself is fantastic. The business is beautifully decorated and I'm so happy that a blowdry bar has opened on this side of the hill. They use bumble and bumble which is awesome! The reception staff is super friendly and I loved my mimosa! I left happy with my hair but didn't have a fantastic experience here. My stylist had long, acrylic, pointed nails that scratched my head and my ears (ouch!) repeatedly while I was getting washed/conditioned...tip to the owner, short nails are probably best for stylists who are working here. I didn't say anything but I am pretty sure I grimaced the entire time and the scratching didn't stop. I love the silence when I'm getting pampered. My stylist, sweet as she is, started singing to herself which was tolerable but then it kept going when she had to basically redo my do---I wasn't being serenaded and she's not Taylor Swift---it wasn't awesome. Maybe I'm uptight but if I'm paying for a service that is 1:1 like this is then I really want to leave feeling totally satisfied and I left here wishing I could have run away. Came in for a blowout with Shannon and I can not say enough good things. Shannon was super sweet and did a wonderful job. I have long thick hair with extensions and she was super patent took her time and my hair looked amazing. I could tell she genuinely enjoys what she does and it really shines through in the service she provides. The salon itself was super clean. Hand sanitizer within reach at all times. Completely spaced out. I felt extremely comfortable. I also noticed after each time a stylist used a product, the receptionist wiped the product down before putting it back on the product bar. My appointment started early (!!) I am not sure if i was the first client of the day or not but I really loved that they took me early instead of making me wait. They offer a membership pricing which is a option I ended up taking advantage of. My only con was that they charge $15 extra for extensions, which is understandable however i didn't see it noted on their website. I have mixed, very curly hair and for years have had difficulty finding anyone to blow my hair out correctly. First of all, this salon is absolutely adorable, the customer service is awesome and the entire experience is so relaxing and comfortable. Madison is THE BEST for blowouts. But every stylist including the front desk associate in there is so sweet, and helpful. Madison is consistent, I have never had a problem getting in with her and my hair looks and feels wonderful every time I leave there. I will not go anywhere else unless this salon ever closes down which I highly, highly doubt. **Side note... if they ever offered wine there it would be game over I'd be there once a week. Literally went there for the first time with a friend and all 3 girls were so rude!! Giving us dirty looks the whole time from across the room, and then repeatedly told us to get out. They had zero customers in there and 3 people working, it was sad. They were just standing around doing nothing but secretly talking about us. I was beyond impressed with my whole experience at GS. I felt very welcomed by the environment and the staff had excellent customer service. Ali was my blow out stylist and she was great! Super friendly and engaged in conversation with me which I liked. I've been to other blow dry bars over the hill and had the opposite experience. The sinks they wash your hair in aren't like any other I've seen before. You're more sitting up and the sink does not hurt the base of your skull. My hair turned out fabulous especially since I have think wavy hair which is not the easiest to work with. I was amazed at how quick the whole experience was too. I was prepared to be there for more than an hour but start to finish only took 45 minutes. I loved being pampered here and have my hair done with out doing all the work myself. I plan on going back every month for more of all the wonderful treatment I received! I'm so happy there's such a great blow out bar in Santa Cruz county! read more

Sort of a long story; I wanted to get an updo. I was shocked that the price for an updo is $70 since I just wanted a little side bun but the lady there explained on the phone that it was more expensive than the regular wash,dry and style (which is $40) because updo's are much more work and require more time. I was in a pinch and had a big event so I decided to splurge. I arrived with my hair washed the night before since it holds better the next day and I sat down in the chair at 3:50, the stylist was good and my hair looked great however after I paid and walked out of the salon it was 4:12. It took 20 minutes for her to pin my hair in a side bun, of course I had to tip the stylist since she did a good job so I paid $80 for a 20 MINUTE STYLE. I am not one to complain but I am sorry that is just ridiculous. If I would have gone in and had a wash,blow out and style (with my long hair) it would have only been $40 and taken three times as long. This did not take longer to do like the lady who worked there explained when she was justifying the cost. I believe I was ripped off and the next day when I called to speak to the owner the manager said she had another business and was busy and if she didnt call me this week then she has a two week vacation and cant call me back until then. As a business owner myself I couldnt imagine telling a client who had a complaint that I dont have time to call them back until almost 3 weeks. They had the receptionist call me later saying they would give me 20% off my next visit (which I already had that coupon on my receipt). I am disappointed the owner wasnt able to make a 3 minute phone call to hear my concerns. Its too bad because I liked the stylist, but on principal I cannot go back to this place. read more
