So I gave her a ring and literally she set me up for the next day in less than like 2 hours, honestly I think it was almost immediately I got a response back. Anywho she got me in and like I said nothing short of amazing. Well I haven't gotten my hair done in literally years so I walked in with zero idea of what I wanted, except for one thing and that was to not leave bald as my hair ya naturally curly. Well I walked out leaving with everything I wanted and more and I didn't even know it. It was literally a walk in the park from setting up to going through the actual experience. If you bought a Groupon from here & haven't been contacted yet, get ahold of Groupon for a FULL refund. After 2 1/2 months, 3 times of contacting the provider (1 text, 2 Voicemails, last voicemail left early February) and after contacting & complaining to Groupon, I finally received a response today. Response from provider: Appointment availability & apologize for 1 unreturned text in December. Was on vacation. I had already contacted Groupon asking for a refund. Yes, maybe hours of extra work and detailed emails, but I'm not paying for a service that I'm not provided. After being offered credit, I showed that Meredith didn't get back to me after 3 times of contact over 2 1/2 months, and was given full refund. I am always very wary of 5 star reviews of hairdressers because I have tried so many salons in Santa Cruz. Thank goodness for Jenny at Rhapsody!!! She is an amazing color specialist and I've gotten the best cut ever from her. I moved from San Francisco 2 1/2 years ago and I have tried 3 salons in Santa Cruz County. No one could do my hair the way I want it. My hair had gotten so dry, unruly and flyaway frizzy and very difficult to style. Paul Mitchell products totally did not work for me either. I had an incredible stylist in San Francisco and she was twice as expensive. I swear that Jenny is even better than my former hairdresser. I color my hair and she uses Wella which is very mild on your hair and as I said, she really knows how to cut hair whether your hair is long or short. Quaint little hair salon in Soquel. I have been going to Meredith Baker for years. She's excellent with cuts & color ( highlights and lowlights and hombres too). She always listens to my requests and gives advice as to how she thinks it will turn out. She has never failed me. She's also very talented with updos. She will style hair for weddings, proms, and other special events. She stays current with all the rage as well. My husband, two daughters, and my son all go to her. She styled all our hair for my eldest daughters wedding and we all received multiple compliments. She even did a trial updo for us months prior to the wedding so there were no surprises. i bought a groupon with Rhapsody, called, and left a message. Jenny, the owner, lists her cell number on her voicemail and she responded promptly to my text. As she was busy for the next few weeks, she passed me along to MEREDITH, who called me that evening and set up an appt for the next day! Meredith is AMAZING. I'm a natural dark blonde who is trying to grow out some platinum highlights and achieve a more natural ombre look. A different stylist in town ended up toning my hair and turning my platinum highlights into a brassy mess. Meredith was so understanding, attentive, and helpful. She put PERFECT lowlights through a chunk of brassy residue, WONDERFUL blonde tips and framing highlights, and achieved a natural, sun kissed, California babe look. For those with groupons, I suggest texting Jenny. The place looks a little quaint from the outside, but they've got a lovely vibe in there. This is a great full service hair salon. I bought a groupon and was lucky enough to get an appointment with Jenny. This was over a year ago and I'm still seeing her. She is the only stylist I've found in the area that does perms. She also does my color and cuts. She is just what I want from a stylist. She listens to what I want and makes suggestions based on her experience. She recently colored my hair. I wanted a certain color but after discussing with Jenny we made a change to the color. I am very happy with how it turned out and I can see how Jenny's suggestion better suited my skin tone. We have fun chats while she's working on my hair. I am so grateful to have found this salon. I needed to find a new stylist, as mine left to take care of a new baby. Checked Yelp, and Next Door, and was lucky to find Jenny at Rhapsody. While I was happy with my previous cut and color, Jenny amped both up - "warming" the color, and doing a wedge cut in the back of my bob. Love both, and she showed me an easier way of blow drying my hair, so I'm actually pretty good at doing it myself. In addition, Jenny is a happy person, who seems to really like her clients.
