I came in to fix a previous bad haircut -- the issue was mainly in the lower part. The stylist was confident and assured me she knew how to correct it, so I trusted her. Instead, she cut my curly hair in a way that created a bulky "cap" on top while leaving uneven length at the bottom. The result was an unmanageable shape that would not lay properly no matter how I styled it. I was later told I "seemed happy" when I left, but as a client I rely on the professional -- the real result shows after living with the haircut. Because of this, I had to go to a third salon to fix the damage. Because of poor corrective work, I went from below-shoulder length hair to a short bob not by choice, but because the damage had to be fixed. MEN'S HAIRCUT REVIEW: During a weekend outing in Capitola, hubby and I walked past a nice looking salon with a sign "Walk In's Welcome". Salons in our county (Alameda) are still closed, so hubby decides to seize the moment to get a haircut. It would be his first since shelter in place over 4 months ago. There were 2 other customers, and each were spaced in separate corners of the salon. They have hand sanitizer and extra face masks at the door in case you didn't bring your own. Besides the safety measures, they give a great haircut and haircut experience. They use aromatherapy with their shampoo and scalp massage. His hair was conditioned and cut just as he wanted. He said it's his best haircut, and I have to agree. What a bonus on top of a great day in Capitola. read more

Edit: this woman is full of s***, a total liar, and I would rather have my hair cut by a 4 year old than support her or her business. She's the absolute worst, STAY AWAY. Super rude, they made my partner and I wait outside for 15 minutes while they tried to sell shampoo to others. We had called in advance saying we'd be running 5 minutes late, which the owner gave me s*** about, but then when we arrived they weren't ready for us. They also hadn't written in my partner's appointment and seemed surprised he wanted a haircut. In the end they started his haircut 35 minutes after the appointment was supposed to... I found the owner very rude! Although I think she did a good job on my hair she was very rough while working. She told me it was my job to hand her the foils. Although I didn't mind it was the presentation! My previous Aveda Salon provide the color recipe that I've been using for years. But continually talked badly about the other place. That they weren't a true aveda salon and that they didn't do my highlight correctly. At the end she did not want to dry my hair because it's curly and takes some time. I've never experienced this at other salons before! I've gone in a couple other time to get products and buy a sweatshirt. She was rude both times. The last time she screamed at me that my dog could not come in because her dog was there. I wasn't bring him in. I was with my granddaughter to get her a sweatshirt. No need to scream at me. I can buy products on line and drive 2 hours back to my previous salon. I won't spend my money at a place that makes me feel like I'm in her way. Poor customer experience! read more

Decent cut. Owner was nice until I realized she was flat ironing my hair without any wash/prep products. I mentioned my hair was not prepped for a flat iron and she said one time wouldn't hurt it. But I know my hair and unfortunately it did. So I walked out of the salon not getting any of the nutrient hair benefit of Aveda products which was a major component of why I chose an Aveda salon. And now I have to pay someone else to treat my hair to make it healthy again. Such a bummer. My hair experience was the worst! The stylist put product in my hair without my approval, saying that she was going to get rid of any unnecessary color in my hair.
