While a friend was prepared to drive her dress over last minute we decided to make a stop at our favorite neighborhood consignment shop. When we walked in and asked Amber if they had a wedding dress, we were so relieved when she said there was one in back. It took our breath away as she carried it out!! When my daughter was in the dressing room, Amber astutely whispered the price but told us to just let her try it on. We're so thankful because our frugal daughter wouldn't have even put it on. We just had manicures so Amber helped button up the almost perfect fitting dress. My daughter looked like a beautiful bride! As we walked out the stores two ladies from our incredible community were there and offered to help pay for the dress. I didn't feel like I could accept such an offer and Amber recognized it needed facilitating. Again, her discretion as well as the ladies' went in to play as they worked out a donation toward the dress. Amber even contributed as well! I just had to share this experience to show Jet Set is not just another store, it's part of our community and the greater good... it's part of our lives! This isn't the first time we found just the piece we needed at the right time, but it's certainly the moment that will forever stick. After reading previous review reviews, I was a little apprehensive, walking in knowing what many others had experienced with their customer service. I will say when I walked in there was somebody who promptly greeted me and my husband, when we walked in and made some small talk. As we peruse the store, I did experience a little of what other people were saying as the employee seemed to keep popping up to chat with us as we per the store. I can understand why some customers may think that it may come off as the employees are watching you while you shop. I don't think that was what was happening at all. I think they were trying to definitely just be more friendly and welcoming, but I think they do need to tone down how many times they pop up while you are walking around the store. All of the items they have to offer are a fabulous quality and definitely a great spot to pick up gifts for others. When I'm in the area, I will definitely pop in and shop again.

My friend was coming in to exchange an item or swap it out for another item. After shopping around and finding another jacket that she liked we inspected the jacket because it was white and we wanted to make sure it was free of damage. We came across black marks on all of these white jackets and brought it up to an employee at the front. They attempted to clean it with a paper towel and maybe water? But unfortunately no luck. They mentioned that she could try to clear it with upholstery cleaner after she purchased it but at the price point of over $100 my friend decided to pass. She ended up returning her item and receiving store credit. The reason for my 3/5 rating is due to the expensive clothing being stained and the awkward exchange. Overall, I would come back and give this place a chance when in need of a unique gift.

When I stopped by this past weekend to be disappointed again, they called the Aptos store which happened to have my size in the boot I liked, and the Aptos staff was able to put it on hold for me. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find that that the place was more than just a shoe store. It was an entire gift shop, with clothing, puzzles, and quirky items of all kinds on display. I explored the merchandise they had in the store, from unicorn themed books & ornaments to cozy pajamas made of the softest material ever. It was tempting, but I purchased my lovely new black comfortiva boots and was on my way. If you can look past the outrageous pricing, there's much to appreciate about this cute lil shop. Located just across Soquel Ave from the entrance to Nicene Marks by Aptos village county park. The products are well made, not the cheap stuff you'd find at the other Santa Cruz county tourist traps. I've bought a sweater and some shirts and they're all high quality silk screen prints that have held up over time. Highly recommended, come stop by and support local businesses.
