I've tried the ham and cheese, the egg salad, and the reuben -- all were very good and I'd definitely try them again after I work my way though trying the rest of them! This place has the best bagels.. I love their Lox bagel and their breakfast bagel.. every now and then I'll try their monthly bagel and smear.. last month the dill smear on the lox bagel 10/10! So lucky Bubbe's opened an east side location. This place is a gem! Easy menu, awesome bagels and always fantastic service! Their bagel shop is simple, clean, and always humming when I arrive. I had Bubbe's Bagels while visiting in Tucson. I only give a bagel vendor 5 stars when their bagel quality is as good as true New York bagels or Boichik (Bay Area) bagels. The bagels I bought at Bubbe's are as good as you can get short of my standard. I would buy them again the next time I'm near one of their stores. This was my first time here so you order right as you walk in the door, right in front of the bagel selection and pay at the other end of the counter. I ordered the daily special, herb tomato bagel (toasted) with basil cream cheese and my daughter ordered the egg & cheese bagel sandwich. My daughter loved the soft scramble of the egg. I like the amount of cream cheese and the chewy inside, but I'll have to try a different bagel flavor next time. Great little bagel shop. We've been told these are the best bagels in Tucson and we can't complain. We haven't tried many other bagels around town, but the bagels and schmears are good. We haven't had anything more extensive on the menu, but honestly, who needs more than that? Good to know before you go: this is a small shop with a counter for ordering and no inside seating. Ive had their bagels brought in by a coworker at the office so I stopped in for a breakfast bagel. They have a simple straight forward menu. I ordered the egg and cheese bagel with bacon on an everything bagel. The bagel was fresh, the bacon had some pepper which I enjoyed along with the fluffy eggs. I enjoyed my sandwich but the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. I thought the sandwich was a little high but a lot of places are so that's not it entirely. What made an impact was asking for cream cheese to be added to the sandwich which resulted in an extra 2.50 for a schmear of cream cheese. I think it's a little steep...just my opinion. My daughter heard about this place on social media so we had to try it and boy. Oh boy new addiction discovered I don't know what they put in their bagels, but they are amazing. They have so many flavors so many combinations with their unique spreads you can see them literally baking the bagels while you're placing your order which we happen to get open face locks and it was delicious. We got it on a garlic bread with onions and chives cream cheese spread, and then we took a couple to go. We took some jalapeño and cheddar and we took some plain and we took some additional garlic bagels and their chives spread. Oh I forgot to mention we went two days in a row. The the bagel shop itself is small but practical where you do as you walk in you place your order right away you go pay and then you just wait for your order. There's no sitting area if you want to sit there's outside patio but it's like the shopping center common area but within the little bagel shop there isn't any sitting area but it's really cute. It's decorated really cute it looks extremely clean. You can literally see everybody working in the back and how clean everything is so that that itself is amazing. read more

This bagel spot was great, quick kind service and delicious food. The bagels were nice and chewy and the cream cheese was tangy and smooth (& with ample portions of cream cheese!) Everytime I go to this place there is a line. I always consider that a good sign. Mind you it isn't a big place as there aren't any inside sit down options, just a cute and bright lobby. If you take a minute to look around you will see the bagels being steamed and they, a rack with coffee mugs and recipe books, and a plaque that says voted best bagel in Tucson awarded in November 2022. I've been here a few times and it has always been a great experience. I've only ever gotten the everything bagel but they have several bagel and schmear options and a seasoning option as well. For December it was chocolate chip bagels and cannoli schmear which sounds great if you have a sweet tooth, but I'm a savory person. The bagel can be made toasted as an option and this place doesn't skimp on the smear like a lot of other bagel shops in town. In fact, you are guaranteed to get the schmear on your hands as it oozes out the edges of the bagel when you bite into it. I've tried both the garden schmear and the Calabrian pepper and both were good. The bagel itself can be described as dense, soft but still light and fluffy. The seasoning on the everything bagel is spot on. Having said all this, I still reminisce about my adventures in NYC and having their bagels and cream cheese which, so far, has been untouchable despite the many places I've had bagels in the USA. Must be the water, right? However, Bubbe's iis the next best thing when you are in Tucson. They do serve bagel sandwiches and I'm thinking of trying the Rueben bagel next time. They also serve coffee which I've never tried but I like their creamer options especially their alternative choices like oatmilk. This is a place I can happily recommend. read more

The bagels are amazing. They have a slight sour dough taste to them. They are always extremely fresh. They use the best cc to bagel ratio too! Favorite place to get a bagel in Tucson and conveniently located in two places, one on Wilmot and the other location on River. I ALWAYS get the lox bagel sandwich and I've tried several of the savory/salty bagels and they are superb. The bagels are super moist and fluffy. If they have any seasonal cream cheese flavors I would recommend trying (for fun), they are good and I've never been disappointed. The staff is always kind and they always have on masks this makes me feel comfortable when coming in Bubbes. My only complaint is the lack of comfortable seating at the wilmot location outside. I don't hang out and eat my bagel there because it just isn't comfy to sit outside and there's no seating inside. There's a couple of chairs and you can sit on the edge of a fountain that isn't functional. It kinda has this dead deserted mall vibe! read more

Bubbe's bagels are good. But they are very overpriced. They offered a straight forward menu of bagel sandwiches, but they are about 13 dollars. Ouch. And the reason why this matters is because the bagels are small. Also, the way they cook their eggs is kind of gross. read more

Marketing does not make up for a lack of craftsmanship. Photo no 1 shows the furikake bagel posted by Bubbe's on Instagram. Photo no 2 shows the furikake bagel I got on Sunday. Either they ran out of seaweed and the oven broke down before the bagel was done or the person who made this abomination was on their first day on the job. Proper training should be above making a fast buck. Getting bagels from this place is a gamble: some days they are great, some days they are almost inedible. Some days the bagels are so undercooked they taste raw, on other days they are overcooked with a thick hard crust. On the days in between they are perfect. I thought my husband bought me a coffee cup and when I went to fill it up the guy behind the counter yelled at me and told me it was for water only. I apologized and said I'll go get my card. I went to get my card from outside and the man followed me out to berate me with insults and tell me I'm stealing from a small business. While following him back in, he started yelling louder as in some way to embarrass me by letting everyone know I "stole". The whole time I am telling him I am going to pay. I spent so much money here and I am sickened by how they decided to treat me. I will never spend another dollar there. I'm not sure what the problem was, but I went to Bubbe's recently and while stepping ASIDE from the line and reviewing the menu (as this was only my second time in store) the female associate behind the counter rudely ask "are you ready". While the question wasn't rude her tone was and I didn't appreciate it. I'm actively looking at the menu, I've intentionally step out of the line area, I haven't made eye contact with you and you pull my attention towards you to rudely ask "Are you ready". First and foremost, the bagels are made the way they should be. There's a nice chew on the outside with a soft center. Be aware that Bubbe's is serious about their schmeer. The usual amount of schmeer comes out of the sides when you bite into the bagel, and I usually end up wiping that part away. I typically order a plain bagel with the honey lavender cream cheese. Yum. When Pizza Luna closed, I grieved. I loved their pizza. But when that door closed, another opened. Bubble's Bagels took over the space and I'm not sad any more. Tucson finally has wonderful bagels! There are two locations now - the new one in Joesler Village - and mine in the Trader Joe's shopping center at Speedway and Wilmot. The area for customers is tiny: no place to eat in; no bathrooms. There are tables outside though, and Bubbe's will loan you a key to the restroom in that area. But don't let a lack of indoor ambiance deter you; most people buy quantities of bagels to enjoy at home. A wide variety are available, both sweet and savory. The cinnamon sugar, cinnamon crunch, and cinnamon raisin look great, but I haven't tried them since I'm not a sweet-bagel kind of gal. Bubbe's savory flavors include sesame, sea salt, onion, garlic, cheddar jalapeño, pumpernickel, everything, and plain, of course. You can add shmears of various flavors of cream cheese, or if you want a sandwich, choose from lox and veggie to whitefish, tuna, egg, or a Rueben. But it's all about the texture and taste of the bagels. Bubbe's slightly crisp exterior surrounds a soft and chewy interior. The flavor is exactly right, due to their extended fermentation process. My personal pièce de résistance is the cheddar jalapeño, with actual chunks of jalapeño and yummy crunchy cheese around the edges. I brought my baker's dozen home and the hub was delighted. Bubbe's bagels are the real deal. Their bagels are fantastic and now on Saturday's and Sunday's they make bialys! I'm originally from Brooklyn, New York and growing up bialys were readily available but no longer. I was so excited when I read that Bubbe's now makes bialys. Today, I bought some bialys and made a bialy sandwich with scallion cream cheese and smoked salmon. The bialy was out of this world and better than any bialy I had in a long time or ever.
