So glad we stopped in & found this bagel shop! We went on a whim after a Sunday morning run and were super pleasantly surprised at just how good it was. The bagels were chewy and fresh, the cream cheese ample and the drinks fresh squeezed and not too sweet (we got the berry lemonade which was delightful!) There was a line when we went but it moved reasonably fast and the wait after ordering was about 10-15 mins, so not a place to go walk up if you're in a hurry but definitely worth the time if you have time. Their prices were also very reasonable in my opinion, $2 for the small fresh lemonade & about $4 for a bagel with cream cheese. Definitely going on ourr weekend treat rotation! read more

Tasty bagels! If you're near River and like bagels, you should check out Bubbe's Fine Bagels. I've been here a handful of times and super busy on the weekends. They have bagels you can buy to go, ones you can ask to add smear or make into a sandwich and they'll cut in half and heat, too. The have various spreads/smears to add to your bagel or can purchase a small container to go. They also sell coffee and have small seats and tables outdoors. This month's bagel (November) is a cheesy potato bagel with caramelized onion cream cheese. It is too die for, the perfect savory/salty/sweet combination. We will be back before month end for another one for sure! Food comes out quick, I have no complaints about service but seating can be a little limited especially on weekends. I love smoked salmon so it's a no brainer that I loved this sandwich. The basil berry lemonade (made in house) grew on me. At first I didn't like it because the flavor of basil was strong but after a few sips I ended up enjoying it. I also got half a dozen and picked up their Calabrian cream cheese. My husband got the Rueben but he ate it so quick so I didn't get a picture. It was good though. Tried Bubbe's for the first time. It's a small to go spot with very little seating. We are not from the area. My wife frequently travels here and recommended to me. However, it was everything she said it would be. The bagels had the perfect texture, nice size, with freshly cooked ingredients. I hade the bacon, egg and cheese on a plain bagel. We've only been to Bobby's bagels a few times but every single time we really enjoy it. I'm so thankful that somebody locally has a really great vegan cream cheese to put on the bagels, being non-dairy. I got a plain toasted bagel with plain cream cheese and found that the texture and density of the bagel was really well rounded and that the cream cheese was both creamy and flavorful. One thing to note is that seating, especially on a weekend morning, can be extremely limited and is outdoors. Luckily, my party found a table but it's definitely something to keep on mind. Was driving through Tucson and recommended this place by CK's cousin who has previously lived here. After recently coming back from NYC - nothing can compete with them. I've also learned there is a difference between schmear and cream cheese. Located in a plaza with plenty of parking, this storefront is located by a fountain. There is limited seating inside (~4-5) and a few outdoor seating. Got an onion bagel w/ chive & green onion schmear to-go before I hit the road again. Loved that it was soft and toasty when I received it, as it was a bit easier to bite into. The chive & green onion schmear enhanced the flavor and you can really taste it. They are very generous with the cream cheese and with the toasted bagel, the combo was delicious! Some days we're able to buy day old bagels at a discount, but they didn't have any today. I have a few new favorite items. First, the egg salad, which can be purchased in an 8 or 16 oz container but also as a bagel sandwich is SO good. There's the perfect amount of mayo to bind it, so it's not overpowering. For the breakfast bagel sandwich, I love adding the smoked salmon cream cheese or the Calabrian chili cream cheese if I'm feeling spicy (it has a big kick). It had been a while since my last trip to Bubbe's and the bagels are as good as ever. Went in on a Saturday and the place was packed with U of A students. If you want to ensure you don't miss out on any of the flvors, get there early or order online for bulk bagel orders and schmear. The bagels are chewy on the inside with a nice crunch on the outside and super filling. Their smoked salmon is the best I've had in town. I love ordering a 4oz side of it. Bubbe's has terrific bagels!!!! I'm to me it's better for spring, winter or fall, summer is too hot and there is nowhere really to sit inside. The staff is friendly and they get what you need quickly. Most people get it to go it seems, for the price I would like somewhere to sit. This location is better than the other, more parking and there are tables in the front but a lot of time it's just too hot. The one on Wilmot is always filled with screaming babies and strollers, and way too frenetic for me. Either way the bagels are really good. I have been a huge fan of Bubbe's bagels for several years but today was ridiculous. Walked in at 7:01 (they open at 7) and was barked at that they didn't open for a few more minutes. Waited until 7:06 and walked back in. Zero greeting. Staff was unsmiling, unfriendly and cranky when asked what the bagel of the month was. Even though I was the first customer and there was a line out the door behind me, somehow they still weren't ready to start serving. Order taken and I was made to stand around while someone came in front outside, washed hands and began prepping my order. There were at least 4 people there and they can't organize properly to avoid customers waiting?? One of the bagels I ordered was still hot and wet. The genius threw 3 of them right on top of my other bagels. They immediately began soaking through the bag. I was not offered plastic bags and ties for any leftover bagels. Overall NOT impressed with the rudeness and lack of organization and professionalism. Of note, the people at the other register walked out waving their hands at the employee in a displeased gesture with zero bagels. We visited this spot at about 9:15 on a Sunday morning. There is only a few stools in the inside so we sat outside. It was an early morning but sunny day so it was ok. It was myself, my husband our friends and their two kids. The order was two cinnamon sugar bagels with plain cheese, one garlic bagel with chive cream cheese, avocado & red onion, an everything with egg, bacon, red onion, chive and green onion cream cheese. My husband and I both got an everything bagel toasted, I got plain cream cheese, and he got the Calabrian chili cream cheese, with pastrami and egg. All the bagels were toasted well and crispy and chewy on the outside and soft but still a bit of chew on the inside. When you pushed them together (ie eating like a sandwich) all the toppings stayed in plave and the bagel did get flat. The best thing, the Calabrian chili cream cheese with pastrami. Normally my husband gets a sausage Patty, but since they didn't have that, the pastrami provided a nice salt flavor. Service was quick and the crew was kind! Would visit again for sure! read more

Fermented kettle boiled bagels- yes please!!! In addition to bagels, they also have several bagel sandwiches and schmears. I am partial to plain bagels in general but the family all has their equally good favorites. Neither location has any indoor seating but nothing will stop you from hanging outside and having one of their delicious sandwiches freshly made. Of note, due to people standing outside waiting on their food (or enjoying it), it appears that the line is longer That what it may be... and even if there is a line, service is prompt and you will not have to wait long to get your order in. Being from the New York/New Jersey area, my wife and I have definite ideas about what is a good bagel. It has to be crisp when you bite into it and very flavorful. We were pleasantly surprised b that Bubbie's Fine bagels met these criteria. I had a Sesame bagel that was well covered on both sides. My wife's Everything bagel, her favorite, was very Everything. I came in 9:15am on a Friday. It was pretty empty. The place is small and like previous reviewers have said there's seating outside and is really meant for a quick stop and go. Cashier was friendly and patient. I appreciated that. I decided on the sandwich with an everything bagel (6.75) with bacon (2.5). The egg was fluffy and amazing. One slice of thick bacon. It was very salty but it balanced the sandwich. It comes with cheese and you have the choice of cheddar or Monterey Jack. I went with the latter. The bagel was good. I liked the texture. It was perfectly seasoned and had good flavor. I also got a cup of coffee (2.45). I liked my coffee. A good strong cup. I didn't try one of their cream cheeses but this purchase ran me higher than I wanted to. I'm not sure I'd come back. It's indulgent and expensive. The sandwich was good but not $10 good. This has been a regular weekend meetup spot with friends but I'm just now getting around to reviewing it after having the open face lox bagel sandwich. Bubbe's makes the best bagels with unique daily creations like banana bread, pretzel, and everything egg bagels. My go-to is a toasted everything bagel with salmon or onion and chive cream cheese and it's consistently great every time. The open face lox is easily their best offering and worth every penny. It's always packed with lines out the door some days, so you have to hit a sweet spot on when to go otherwise expect a bit of a wait. But service is always friendly and they work as fast as they can. I guess I'd have to say with its popularity I hope they expand to a bigger location someday even though their current location at Campbell and River is conveniently down the road from me. I would be willing to travel a little farther for a bigger space, easier line formation, and more seating. They have ~3 stools inside but it's always crowded with a line so most end up outside, though it's trickier in the summertime when it's 95-105 out. Regardless, this is easily one of the best bagel/breakfast spots in town and I'll continue to be a regular as long as they stick around. read more

This place is 100% worth the hype! As a self proclaimed bagel enthusiast this place was a must stop on a recent trip into Tucson.
