Ugh I so wanted to love Bruegger's Bagels!! I've had their bagels at catered events and did enjoy them a lot, so this experience might be an unfortunate one-off. The bagel was so underbaked it was two shades darker than pale white and it was doughy in the center. My breakfast sandwich was also missing every topping except cheese and egg, and the egg in question was so watery it wasn't doing the underbaked bagel any favors. I shudder even thinking about it. The service itself was slow but everyone was very kind and the restaurant was clean! If you stop in, maybe skip the sandwich and go straight to a toasted bagel instead. read more

If you know me...my favorite foods are, cheese, yogurt and bagels. I could live on just those three things if I had to. So when in Tucson I looked for bagel places...so when Brueggers popped up...I nearly cream cheesed my you know what's! Sorry for the vulgarity but that's how excited I was! I practically live at Brueggers in NY. And so with this being Arizona-I was a little worried that it wouldn't be the same....oh it was. So much so I went two days in a row. I had free breakfast available to me at my hotel but...this is my holy grail here. You don't even know. I'd be able to move to Tucson because they have Brueggers. These are how bagels should be crispy on the outside and dense and chewy inside. I had an egg on honey wheat with Swiss both days. That's a must for me. Yesterday I got an Asiago toasted with butter. So good!!! Today I got an everything with plain. I don't know why I love brueggers so much-I just do. I've been to many locations in several states and I've never had a bad bagel from there ever. In Vegas, we have Einstein brothers, which is actually owned by the same company that owns Bruegger's but their bagels are so inferior. I don't know why they can't be the same probably cause they're two different concepts that are just under the same umbrella company, but Bruegger's is top-tier for bagels. And the line at 10 am on a Sunday was nearly winding around out toward the door! On Saturday, I got a chocolate chip cookie, but because they were day old, they just gave it to me and it was fantastic and today I opted for a chocolate cold brew coffee. There's lots of seating inside and an outside patio. The parking is kind of a b rhymes with witch. This is near the university too. Also-the employees both days were pretty much the same staff. They were joking and laughing and smiling-that's a great indication that these people love their jobs and it's a sign of a good manager. As someone who worked in food service the morale of the staff will tell you a lot about a place. You want to see happy smiling staff, talking to each other and getting along. I even mentioned it to them today because I noticed. The two I spoke to, genuinely seemed to love their job. read more

First time here at Bruegger's Bagels. Have to say the restaurant is quite lively for it being at 8am :). Good vibes all around. First Impression: The restaurant was clean, and lively as mentioned above. They had some great wall decorations and just seems like a homie establishment for those who want coffee and quick bite to eat. Plenty of seating too! Interactions: Staff was friendly and quick with service. They were very busy, so I was pleasantly surprised they still were able to make it a quite an enjoyable experience. Food: It was great! Came out very hot, and I ate it so fast that I was sad I didn't have seconds! HA! Service: Service was good, it was very quick. Value: The total came out to be $7 and some change. Pretty expensive for a premium sandwich, but also to be expected with soaring food cost. I'd say if you're in a pinch or coming for a work meeting/studying that this place will satisfy your hunger and caffeine needs. My partner and I are huge bagel fans. Bruegger's hits our expectations out of the park, with their combination of wonderful bagels made fresh daily and the amazing sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Paired with a good espresso bar, Bruegger's is a favorite of ours. We look forward to them during our travels and try and make it a priority to stop at least once. We used to absolutely LOVE coming here, and we'd always get the western. We always ask for extra chipotle mayo because it's our favorite part!! And recently they have been 1. Putting way less sauce on it when we're asking for extra 2. We noticed it doesn't taste nearly the same or have any chipotle flavor to it. Mostly mayo flavor. The staff is super friendly! It can be busy in the mornings but they always keep their cool and work fast. I like the variety of options for both the bagels, sandwiches and cream cheeses. I ate at this location today and found it to be one of the better locations here in Tucson. I had the farmhouse bagel and it was prepared perfectly. The only thing I didnt like was the twice baked hash brown. It didnt come out to appear anything like the picture on the sign and just didn't taste very good either. Words cannot express how impressed I am with the service at the Bruegger's Bagels UofA location! And yet, I'm gonna try. My family got together over the weekend in Tucson and my brother had to fly out mid-day on Sunday. We had a small window to wake up, grab something to eat and deliver him to the airport. We picked Bruegger's because it was on the way. As soon as we arrived, I knew we would be able to get in and get out. There was five of us in our group and there were several employees all waiting for us, smiling and eager to work simultaneously on our orders. Subway should model this efficiency! The food and drinks were prepared very quickly and before we knew it, we were all sitting down, relaxing and talking while enjoying some delicious food. I was VERY happy with my Country Farmhouse sandwich. Normally, just a bagel and cream cheese will satisfy me. I splurged this morning and it was worth it! Hint: Add the extra egg. Breakfast was awesome! Being able to sit down as a group and enjoy each other's company was so enjoyable. Bruegger's made it possible. And it was even better since the food really shined. Bruegger's is my go to bagel spot in Tucson and a staple at our weekly department meetings. Some bagel snobs may think they're pretty meh, but for my Ohio River Valley tastebuds, they're great. Decent variety with some seasonal variation. Love the pumpkin bagel and schmear :D The dining area is pretty spacious and even has a cute little bar nook for some privacy. Great for studying and reading the paper. The main downside (for those of us with sensitive olfactory nerves) is the smell. I always leave smelling like I had a kitchen disaster and burned the house down. I am, of course, exaggerating, but seriously, it does smell like they let the water boil over and hit the burner. I love Bruegger's Bagels. When I'm visiting AZ I love to stop by and pick up 6 bagels and a side of tomato spread since we don't have them in Las Vegas. This location, the manager had the WORST attitude about substitution of tomato spread for cream cheese. I don't eat dairy, and since this place doesn't offer an alternative I've ALWAYS gotten a tub of spread instead of cream cheese. For at least 15 years when I used to go every week to my local Bruegger's in Costa Mesa ca. I told him his attitude was foul and walked out. I don't mind paying a little extra for the substitute but not when I'm told as if my request was an inconvenience. The manager only apologized, after I told him his delivery was bad. Don't apologize for not having a reasonable substitution, apologize and then change your attitude. I walked out without my bagels, and spread. And a reminder why I will likely NEVER return to Bruegger's after years of being a loyal consumer. He wanted to charge me a 1.25 per scoop of tomato spread. Every other store has given me a small soup container and apologized for not having a suitable dairy free option. They may or may not have charged me more for it and I never noticed, but when they share an apologetic attitude I don't notice or even care. Bad form Bruegger's! read more

I ordered two bagels. One cinnamon sugar with the maple pecan cream cheese on the side. I'm not sure if it was the cream cheese or the cinnamon sugar bagel that was contaminated with garlic. Either way it pretty much ruined the effect. If it weren't for this misstep I think this place would be really good. read more

Don't get me wrong, I think Bruegger's is one of the best places to pick up a quick bite to eat and their bagels are almost always cooked just right, with a chewy outer shell and a delicious doughy inside. Although: I went to this location and the girl preparing my order looked quite miserable despite me being friendly and trying to interact with her about how her morning was going. And now for the real reason why I am giving 2 stars: as I was checking out, I saw a roach on the register counter. The health standards need to be higher and up kept and I certainly do not feel comfortable ordering food at a place roaming with critters. I was quite disgusted and hesitant to eat my meal. Boo on Bruegger's!! I went to the Sunrise and Swan location just before closing, and they were locking the door just as I walked up. I knocked politely, the worker saw me, and just shook his head. The manager completely ignored me. All I wanted was one bagel and would have paid in cash with a good tip if the cash register was totaled out and turned off. I am a huge fan of Bruegger's! I am a bagel snob--and I have to say that this is probably the best convenient bagel you are going to get in Tucson. They mimic that "crunchy" outside with the fluffy and filling bready-inside. The store is nice and large and makes pick-up and in-store ordering alike very easy and stress-free. They have multiple bagel, cream cheese, sandwich, and coffee selections for any and all bagel lover. I have also catered from them before for a crowd of 70-- I ordered 4 large bagel boxes, 3 "brew for the crew" coffees and 1 gallon of OJ.
