Look, it's the best damn barbecue in Jackson because it's just about the only barbecue in Jackson. Decently priced and good food overall. The platters are good options. Brisket and turkey was good, as was the baked potato. The coleslaw was pretty bland and the mac and cheese left much to be desired. It's no Texas barbecue but when you don't have many options it'll do just fine. Bubba's Bar-B-Que is part of the Blue Collar Restaurant Group. They seem to take assuring COVID-19 measures, including distancing, staff wearing proper gear, gloves, and masks. TIP: Use YELP to get in line. It'll save you a lot of standing around. Overall I'd give Bubba's three stars out of five, but in comparison of just Jackson eateries I'll give it four stars out of five. read more

Poor service waiter named Alex, never greeted us or made eye contact with us as soon as he saw we were a group of Asians/Hispanics/Caucasian. Some of their sides could be improved. One member of our group asked for a stuffed baked potato with brisket, which wasn't on the menu. My wife and I ordered takeout from here after arriving at 7:30pm on a Wednesday, and finding out there was an hour wait for a table. Our hotel was literally less than 100 yards away, so takeout was a no-brained at that late hour. After ordering, our food was ready in about 15 minutes. We both selected the "pick two meats" meals. My wife had smoked sausage, and pulled pork. I had turkey and bbq chicken. (The turkey was awesome! Often smoked turkey is either just lunch meat or dry slices of turkey breast. This was neither. Nice slices of juicy smoked-flavor turkey) We had Mac & cheese, fries, and baked beans as our sides. The Mac & cheese went perfectly with the chicken and the fries went perfectly with the turkey. Everything, including the bbq sauce, was great! Portion sizes were generous and everything was hot. Lastly, our two meals were reasonably priced considering the portion sizes and quality; we paid ~$40. I am not a big barbecue fan because I don't like barbecue sauce, but you don't have to get the sauce. Portions are huge so you may want to share. If not, be prepared to take some home. This was very disappointing. The meat (we got ribs and pulled pork) was really gross. Low quality and cooked poorly. There were major globs of fat and the ribs were so tough I could barely chew it.
