My partner had the all you can eat salad bar. Ingredients were fresh and had a variety. I tried the bbq chicken which came with a side and garlic toast. The toast tasted good but the chicken was so very dry and didn't taste of bbq even with the bland sauce. My side was bbq beans and this was tasty and saved the chicken. Food - so good and the portions were very large. The ice cream Sunday was very big and two of us couldn't finish it. Service - we got there at 445 and our reservation was at 5. It was right at shift change for the servers so we did wait a bit but we were early and the staff was in communication about what was going on. It was a good time to go to the restaurant because when we left the place was full and people were waiting. Our server was amazing, she answered all our questions about the menu. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, onion rings (which came in good time). Then ordered our meals. We had a variety of sandwiches and ribs all were very good. She kept the drinks full. The wait was very long so I decided to order my food to go. I promptly ordered and paid. Justin was very courteous and kind. I was very tired from driving. I also ordered a salad bar. The salad bar was well stocked and had a brilliant variety of choices. Choices that included a plethora of mixed salads. There was a variety of dressings that appeared freshly made. After a long day in Yellowstone we were famished. I had been to Cody a couple times for business about 15 yrs ago and remembered that I had eaten here and enjoyed it. And I loved it this time! Our meal wasn't very diverse as we split a full rack on ribs, which were very good, and we both had the salad bar. The salad bar was excellent with fresh crispy veggies and a very good selection. Cole slaw was our choice with the slab o' ribs and it was also excellent. We experienced great service, the restaurant is clean and has a western theme, of course. First good sign: hickory on pallets out back. Second: busy at 630 on a Thursday. Really nice table sauce: more vinegar than sweet, with a hint of smoke (but there are evidently five available). Good choices: ribs, pulled pork, brisket etc. Garlic bread clashes a little with the Q but still pretty impressed. read more

huge portions for sides. service was stellar. chips were unique somewhat sweet. baby back ribs were slightly smoky with a solid red ring. the sauce was great. spare ribs we're meaty but a lot of fat. all was nicely moist and tender. baked beans were really good. corn on the cob was soggy (only downside). coleslaw was fresh and neither sweet nor spicey and no vinegar seemed present. creamy. they allowed me to sub pulled pork with the baby backs in a combo platter for a $1 more. that was kind of weird but cool they could flex the menu. ....and the PP with the sauce is the way to go for sure. good beer selection but out of fat tire. drafts were cold. read more

Food and waitress were great. The "Host" who seats you and rings you up couldn't have been a bigger A-hole. I would NEVER in a million years return to this place; sad since it's veteran owned and I'm a veteran. Tip: Don't throw customers cards and their receipts at them when they're checking out. My family had just come from visiting Yellow Stone National Park. We arrived around 7pm and it was only around a 5-10 minute wait. The esthetics of the restaurant definitely feel like you were at a Wyoming Ranch. We ordered a "FULL ORDER" of BBQ wings (12 wings) and they were simply cooked Chicken wings with BBQ sauce added after. It seems that this facility may be under staffed with the amount of work our server was doing before being able to greet us. My family and I were ready to place our order but the server simple said "I will be right with you guys" and walked away. She then came back to ask us for our drinks then after we gave her our drink order she walked away without asking if we were ready to order dinner. We received our dinner without silverware but luckily we were able to inform a passing server and she quickly got our silverware. My chicken I ordered was PINK TO THE BONE. I understand BBQ food being slightly pink but not to the bone. Also my father ordered a "Well-done" steak and received more then half pink on the middle. All-in-all, as a tourist I would recommend you NOT TO EAT HERE. Being from KC, we were really disappointed in the food. Our service was great. We waited for 30 to 45 mins for a table. The good news, buttermilk pie for dessert was really good. However, we don't have previous experience to compare it with. The bad news, the meat had lack of seasonings and smoke flavoring. The ribs had a large amount of very sweet sauce on it, like they were trying hide the fact there was a lack of flavor. Pulled pork leaves no memory. We didn't finish the sides. Normally we like this place. Salad bar is the best in town and we have a favorite watress that is really great. But, tonight, Wednesday 26th we went to the movie and had chosen Bubba's as the place to go eat after the show. This was at 6:30 PM. Their days closed menu states only Tuesday. Drove all the way through town and they were closed?? We have crossed that unreliable business off our places to now dine. We could have went to Hungry Bear super close to the movie. Ate super last night prime rib was tasty with good portions they also have a nice salad bar, you tell waiter/waitress what you want and they get it (for safety reasons. While we were staying in Cody, we happened upon Bubba's from a quick google search. Oh MY GOD were we not disappointed! It was delicious!! We had spare and baby back ribs, as well as a quarter chicken, with some fries for my partner, as well as some pulled pork and fixings. I have not had such succulent, fall off the bone bbq in many MANY years. It even reheated well in our hotel microwave. The lady helping us at the counter was very nice, and our food was hot and ready when we got there. I don't even know what to say, everything was on point. just trust that if you get it, you will eat it all and want more. If it wasn't such a drive I would go back right now! All the meat was so smoky and rich and delicious, like I can barely write this review because its just making me hungry. Even the chicken, which I am usually fine with, this chicken just fell off the bone and the skin was nice and crisp, grilled to perfection. I had sweet potato fries, which they were good but I only recommend fresh. But the regular fries were awesome too, and they have a savory bbq sauce that is made for dipping. Please be sure to stop off here, we only got ours to go but the inside looked accommodating as well. Side salad wasn't with the upgrade, and neither was the sweet potato fries in my opinion BUT I will say it was nice that they had the options for those of us who might not be able to have just regular fries or smoked bbq beans due to diet. From my partner, his critique would be his silence. He happily chomped through as much as he could, and we had leftovers for days it seemed like. He also noted the pulled pork is as if they just shredded it off the pig, which was moist and delicious and incredibly satisfying. It wasn't about how long of a wait for the food was. We have waited an hour without a problem. Your food is worth the wait. The issue I had was the nastiness from the kitchen. Unfortunately your kitchen crew is front and center of the customers view and hearing. Everyone gets frustrated and/or upset but we the customers would rather not hear it. As with any business the customers want to believe our fantasy of the shiny, happy and drama free world. Yes, everyone knows it's hot, stressful and thankless but we really don't want to hear or see it. It's the whole experience. Great food, great service make people want to come back. Feeling as if you are a burden, a nuisance and unwelcome doesn't make me want to come back. Which hurt worse because you were my favorite place to go with family and friends. read more

As Kansans, BBQ is in our blood. The sauce was on the sweeter side which was great. The brisket was not bad but didn't hold a lot of flavor despite the good smoke ring. There was plenty of pulled pork on the sandwich for the $9 price. The corn on the cob side was not dressed with butter and definitely not sweet corn -- wouldn't recommend (Chili's corn on the cob is much better). Order everything on the Texas toast! read more
