My husband, a retired port authority police officer, and I were visiting Yellowstone and decided to catch the rodeo in Cody. We stopped first at Bubba's BBQ for a bite to eat. Blane, our funny, charming, and handsome server greeted us warmly and noticed my husband's hat which indicated his police work. He asked questions about The Port Authority and my husband shared the story about their location in the twin towers and how he personally knew 23 of the 37 officers who lost their lives on 9/11. Blane shared how Bubba's is very supportive of our police officers and military personal and that we would be getting a discount. The meal came and WOW was it good. We split a full rack of ribs and the meat literally fell off the bone!! Absolutely delicious! Great service, great food and great honor to those that put their lives on the line. As far as we could tell, this place when open, has a lot of customers judging from the fairly full parking lot every time we went by. We decided to give it a try, anticipated wait, which there was. When we were notified that a table was ready, Misty S, our server is obviously experienced. We ordered fried cheese curds and brews to start, as well as the BBQ chicken plater and another entree. Our brew came but we waited quite awhile on our food. I could see staff in the kitchen hustling and the tables were full with a que of people still waiting to get in. Misty finally came and apologized for our order somehow having been lost. We told her we were hungry but were enjoying the beer and glad to be sitting inside. She told us that the beer we'd ordered would be on the house and had again placed our order. The cheese curds were wonderful, and not just because we were hungry! We laughed about had we known, we could have each ordered one for ourselves and been happy with that. The other aromas were amazing and the plates going to other tables matched them. When our meals arrived, we loved every bite and left feeling stuffed. While we aren't likely to get to Cody again any time soon, we'd definitely make it a point to return to Bubbas BBQ. read more

Checked Yelp and decided on this place due to reviews and close proximity to my hotel. I ate the fatty part first and it went down hill from there. The quality of the beef was just not there. The meat was cooked ok, sorta medium rare, but was still over cooked and very tough. Had to use the "ah juice" to give the rest of the meat flavor. It was far too lean to be a good grade prime rib. I had much better beef in "non beef county". This is Wyoming, cattle country, and should have awesome beef. Sadly, not. However, Good Job with serving it with real horseradish. The sides were ok. Beer was good. Service was competent and genuinely friendly. As a retired soldier I really appreciate the pro-military and patriotic displays in the dining area. Had I had more time in town, I may have given this place another try. Perhaps the pork or chicken items maybe better. Unfortunately, I went to other places in town that had better food. Better beef. Potions size was good. Prices fair. I ordered another piece of Texas toast to go with my leftover meat. Had to use my real knife to cut it into small pieces and sop it in the "ah juice" to give it flavor. Ate it as breakfast the next day. I truly hope the folks at this place don't take my comments too harshly. You folks are ok, the food ok, but not great. My husband and I both had the 16 oz Prime Rib with 2 sides. I had beans and coleslaw and he had a baked potato and steamed veggies. Everything was super yummy. The wood interior and predominately padded both style seating adds to a casual family dining experience. The restaurant practices indoor social distancing with patrons occupying every other table. You can give the restaurant a call and they will give a time slot. Show up and you will be seated in a short period of time. I had the smoked turkey with a baked potato and beans. The price was reasonable at about $9 and I thought the beans and garlic bread were really good. The smoked turkey was tender and came out unfortunately warm. I would have liked it if the turkey came out hot. They offer brisket and sausage entrees as well. At $10.99 they offered Rocky Mountain Oysters on the menu but I took a pass. I liked the fact that they have napkins on the table but then a BBQ place should have napkins. This is a solid Bar-B-Que restaurant but in my opinion not exceptional. read more

Unfortunately their famous salad bar was closed because of Covid. I ordered their house salad and a bowl of beef stew. Came in hot and hangry on a Sunday after driving the RV from Rushmore. You can tell by the smell this place is awesome. Our server was Nevaeh who guided us thru the ordering process like a pro. Tammy the Tornado ordered ice tea and a brisket plate. I got the chicken plate. Whatever is in that sweet and spicy sauce don't ever change it. Corn was pretty over done though and I'd recommend not letting it sit in the water so long. Also, next time you get menus made I'd suggest telling people what cut of the chicken they're going to get. Stopped in for our first breakfast here and are so happy we did... we'll definitely go back! Our server was attentive, courteous, and knew her menu well. The restaurant was clean and cozy. And the food was fantastic! I had a custom omelette and it came out perfect, something that doesn't happen for me very often if ever, with hash browns and the best tasting biscuit I remember ever having. My partner's breakfast was a ham, egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant, with country potatoes and it was the best he's had, from any restaurant! Oh, and we shared a cinnamon roll, which was exactly how a cinnamon roll should be, and it was delicious! My pics are from our breakfast this morning, but we dug into the cinnamon roll before I remembered to snap a pic - I think you'll get the idea, though. The BEST Salad Bar in Park County! The staff is beyond excellent!! We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant welcoming us with a friendly smile. Our waitress who we always look for is awesome. We have a service dog and is welcomed with "I wish I could pet". The owners are fabulous and support our Veterans! They catered our picnic last September and it was delicious! People kept returning with their empty plates and refilling and refilling (brisket mainly). This is also the morning meeting place for a early morning breakfast with my dear friend. Usually a long morning catching up on families and life in general. Breakfast is amazing and for the couple hours we are there, they just come by and refill our coffee and water with a smile. Great BBQ , Great Service. This is right off the Yellowstone Ave in Cody, Wy. There is plenty of parking outside the restaurant. The restaurant is very cute. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is doing a good job following COVID guidance by having all the servers wear masks and separating groups with a table in between each one. The server was very pleasant and helpful and our food arrived within minutes. Their iced tea is excellent. Their baked beans and sandwiches (brisket and sloppy sandwich) were very good. First off we were so upset that they were closed Mon-Wed. We were finally able to eat there on Thursday and was told they were closed for memorial day through Wednesday and that the owner gave them two extra days off since they worked so hard through the summer. We thought that was awesome the owner did that for them so kudos to the owner. I eat here multiple times every time I'm in Cody and honestly it's the best food and service in Cody and this time was no exception. We ordered the brisket, beans and corn nuggets and all were amazing. My only complaint is we left Friday so I only was able to eat here once this visit. read more

I would not recommend this simply because it's a long wait for mediocre food that does not rival famous Dave's and actually pains me to say that being a small business. Heads up! The ribs are not fall off the bone or melt in your mouth you have to chew them off the bone and it feels like you're chewing a steak. The pulled pork was OK, The brisket that we had was absolutely to die for melt in your mouth flavored absolutely amazing!!! The sides were pretty delicious although we ordered baby red potatoes for a side literally got 2 potatoes the size of a tennis ball that wore not even cooked all the way through and two lumps of butter in prewrapped packages!
