Senior steak platter with Proud Cut's famous onion rings. Lol
    Karen S.

It's a must if you're ever in Cody! (And bring your appetite!) On a recent cross-country road trip, we spent the night in Cody, WY. Dad (who is 87) was with us and we had trekked over to the Proud Cut Saloon as it was not too far from our hotel and was open. The place was packed, and we didn't have a rezzie. The staff managed to find us a table and seated us quickly even still. Our server (Holly) was fantastic! She had great recommendations and was pleasant the entire evening (even though she was juggling a full load of tables). The food was delicious - skirt steak and prime rib were cooked to perfection, and my father enjoyed the senior steak platter that included onion rings as big as his head! Bread pudding for the dessert win. Everything, even the cocktails, came out quickly and without issue. We are so happy we found the Proud Cut Saloon!

The big order of delicious onion rings- enough for 4 to taste

Visiting from out of town, our party of 4 was seated in the outdoor covered patio. The staff was running around and we realized they may have been short staffed. But when we had our server's attention she was very thorough, friendly and kind. She did a good job helping us! There were many flies at our table which made it rather unpleasant to enjoy the meal. We began with an order of onion rings which were pretty good. I had the Pilot Peak burger which was ok, another had the Index Mountain burger, she ate half and took the rest home, proclaiming it was even better the next dry! The men both ordered the Buffalo Bill Ribeye. My husband raved about his but unfortunately our friend's was inedible- it was all grizzle and fat. He didn't ask for a new one but they did tell the chef and they removed it from our bill. Very sad that the chef let that come out to a customer. Overall it was a fair experience.

The food was delicious but you better be hungry! Big portions. The ambiance was authentic Cowboy Cafe vibe! If it's busy the service will be slow but the service is friendly and upbeat!

This restaurant was an amazing find while we were stopping in Cody. The steak could not have been more perfect. The cowboy chips were also a very good side. Our server, Holly, was also extremely friendly and helpful. I can only speak positively of the entire dinner. Not to mention, the price is very reasonable, it was really a great value for the quality of the food and the cool environment. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal but unsure of where to go.

Huge onion rings and NY steak. Delicious.

Great steaks and service. It's a saloon atmosphere. I had a NY with 2 large prawn add ons and hubby had tenderloin with prawns. Sides of onion rings and steak fries were also tasty and large. We couldn't finish anything and thats ok! Leftovers are always good. Reasonably priced steakhouse!

    Perfect steak

The rib-eye is perfectly cooked together with the sweet potatoes fried. The decorating is nice. Overall, amazing. Well done!

Colossal Onion Rings!!! So amazing. Yummy , tasty, delicious food.

Food is fresh and hot, service s friendly and quick , nice area to sit outside in a covered patio.

Stopped in Thursday night 1/9/2025 before an event at the Buffalo Bill Museum with no reservation, we were told to pick any seat we wanted there were about 6 customers in the bar area restaurant. Waitresses was prompt in taking drink orders I had a Ten Sleep IPA my wife had a Crown and coke waitress came back said the Coke wasn't working would Pepsi be ok my wife said yes, drinks were quickly brought to us and then we placed our order. We both had the French dip with onion rings and extra cheese (pepper Jack) food was brought out quickly and was very tasty, my only issue was they could add a bit more beef to the sandwich. The theme of the restaurant was western and done well, we will definitely be back.

Amazing steak salad cooked perfectly. Lovely staff. Make reservations if you can! 45 min wait on Sunday evening. We were able to score a couple seats at the bar .

We were greeted with a wonderful smile and seated, then Olivia was quick to introduce herself as our server. The dining area was very comfortable with plenty of soft light and the walls displayed what looked like wonderful artwork from a local artist, nicely presented. Olivia started to take our drink order but we were hungry and ready to go to the next level. We asked about local favorites, After highlighting some things on the menu, she described the special of the day, a bacon wrapped sirloin. I was sold. I asked her if she would recommend a pairing from the bar, a cocktail. She suggested an Old Fashion with my steak and explained why. In short, my meal came eloquently plated with my steak perfectly seasoned and cooked ( HOLY SMOKES!! GREAT BEEF, PERFECT SEASONING AND PERFECTLY COOKED!!) My Old Fashion prepared with Woodford Reserve, was by far the greatest Old Fashioned i've had in a long time, probably the best ever, and it paired perfectly with that steak. Not at all pretentious but definitely 1st class. spend the very few extra dollars and pass up those hamburgers and barbecue places. And check this place out! Perfectly staffed with professional yet friendly staff, A GREAT chef and definitely an OUTSTANDING bartender. Sadly I was too full for dessert, but I will definitely go back tomorrow before I leave town. 7 's

Drinks are still awesome, service is still amazing, but gosh did the prices go up from last year. 40% or more, unfortunately, we took a couple that isn't rolling in cash and we felt super bad. We decided to pay for all of us, since we all got hit by sticker shock. I totally understand inflation, the need to pay better wages, if this would have gone up 10-20% I'd understand, but that's big city prices. I unfortunately have to call it out, otherwise, people with a smaller budget hoping to get nice value again might be stuck with a much larger bill than anticipated -like us. Steak dinners are still great here, service is still amazing... but not sure if we would come back again.

Food was served hot and fast! I can't say enough how friendly the staff were! The show featured the Triple C band!!! And THEY WERE AMAZING! I enjoy country music but I'm not a die-heart fan and even I enjoyed every song they played! And they were hilarious and really gave the audience a great show!! We finally had to flag someone down to take our order. By that point, our son was starving, so we decided to order just one meal to see if the service would improve. He ordered the "Lobstah Roll" with a side of butter. What arrived was more like a cold seafood salad on a roll, along with a side of cold butter. Had he known that's what it was, he definitely wouldn't have ordered it. We weren't expecting an authentic Maine lobster roll, but if you're going to spell it "Lobstah," there are certain expectations--and this wasn't close. At some point, our original server seemed to realize she had forgotten about us, but the service never recovered. No one checked on us, offered refills, or asked if we wanted anything else. When we were ready to leave, we literally had to hold our credit card up to get someone's attention so we could pay and get out of there. Ironically, the moment we left, two employees immediately appeared to clear the table. The funny thing is that we saw other tables receiving great service throughout our visit. Maybe we were just unlucky, but based on our experience, I'd avoid sitting where we sat. Good luck to the next guests assigned that table.

Off season, Irma hotel and buffet are very slow but the food is definitely better than busy season (when tourists show up for yellow stone). Highly recommend the clam chowder. I know Wyoming isn't really famous for any of that but their clam chowder is very good. We ordered the prime rib sandwich, the bison ribs, and the buffalo sandwich/burger. If you don't like heavy meats, stay away from bison ribs cuz it's super heavily seasoned to cover bison's distinctive gaminess. Also it's not as tender as you want it to be. The regular burger and the steak were pretty good from Irma. It's quite consistent. Surprisingly, the fries were very good. Especially the onion rings. Give it a try, for meat lovers, this place might be a pleasant surprise.
