On April 29th we visited Cassie's for the first time since it reopened. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit as our steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were great. The friend who was with us also enjoyed her pork chop that had a brown sugar glaze. To make the visit even more enjoyable we had a waitress whose "stage" name was Annie Oakley. It was around 9pm and my wife kids and I were hungry coming back to Cody from Yellowstone. We came in and the hostess was very friendly letting us know we would have a short wait. We were seated after a few minutes and when we got our menus I knew my order instantly they had a chicken fried steak, my favorite. It came out crispy and tender covered in a cream gravy will definitely have it again. Mashed potatoes were good and the side of broccoli was well seasoned. Stayed in Cody for two weeks and stumbled upon Cassie's on our very last night. I WISH we had found it sooner, as Cassie's was by far the best restaurant we went to during our whole trip. After chatting to our server, we learned that the new owners bought the restaurant summer of 2022 and have been working diligently to restore it with tons of iconic Wyoming-style decor. They apparently even have plans to be featured in a hit food network series! We came here on a Friday night to hear live music and enjoy and awesome meal. The grilled cajun chicken sandwich was delicious and the burger was great as well. Pro tip: ask for the burger blackened! That's how the owner always orders his and it's insanely good! This was a fun place to eat. We had live music and the bar was great. The waitress we had was fantastic. This was a busy place, and she was running her butt off trying to keep up with all of the tables. We had a party of 8, due to the busyness we waited a while (about 45 minutes) before our food came out from the time we ordered. Overall not a bad experience, just from the time we were seated to the time we asked for our checks and were done. It was about 1.5 hours total we were there. It was a Friday night, and we had 8 people in our party plus there were several other tables with large parties. So.... That's the only reason for not getting 5 stars. This is the place for you if you're interested in a bar whose owner had a quite interesting past. My friend and I weren't crazy about the atmosphere. For one thing, the outside could use some sprucing up and it's quite dark inside. Lots of cool memorabilia in the building though. The food was good, but nothing outstanding. read more

Longest running hen party in Cody. The hostess and staff stood behind me the entire time we were there. Their chatting was pretty distracting. We were told to come in early because there was a 15-top coming in at 5:00 pm and the kitchen would be overloaded. "They only have so many burners" Food was only so-so. We went for a nice steak dinner but after seeing wait staff just hanging around we decided to reduce our expectations to a couple of burgers. The sweet potato fries were overloaded with sugar. Like others, we love a good steak! This place was recommended by our river rafting crew. Our family party of 8 adults and one child arrived at 4 pm yesterday. The restaurant appeared totally empty except for arriving staff. Daniel was our server and was friendly and attentive. The 20 oz ribeye medium-rare was delicious!! We shared it! It comes with the loaded baked potato and green beans. I ordered a side salad with ranch and Bleu cheese on the side. It consisted of fresh greens--not iceberg lettuce. Fresh and delicious. Dressings were as ordered. The decor- theme of the restaurant, dance floor and bar is beautiful Western cowboy, mountain-cabin wood and log with walls covered by paintings and eclectic art. Reason for 3 stars was the lack of welcome by the hostess and the instructions to "order fast before other large groups arrive." My Response to Courtney,--the business owner: Your negative response to 3/5 stars rating necessitates my response. BUSINESS OWNER: YOU ARE INCORRECT!! "The rafting company DID NOT state MAKE A RESERVATION FIRST!! Furthermore, this family is not the first to give your establishment "a negative review" as evidenced by another Yelper in the past two weeks. Cassie's Steakhouse We had dinner at Cassie's 9/2/23, a Cody local suggested it so we made a reservation for 4:30 we had a very nice view of the kitchen from our table. My dinner mates were looking forward to having a great Wyoming Steak. No so much. The bar has a good selection of local beers. There were four of us. I was planning on ordering the Tumbleweed Onion as I don't eat meat but they were out. My husband and friend ordered the $59 Porterhouse and another friend the $42 filet. My husband says his $59 porterhouse was good but he'd had better, the other $59 porterhouse on the table was tough and gristly he could barely cut through it. The $42 filet was an end cut, she ordered medium, but it was on the verge of rare. If you order "the works" on your baked potato they will add bacon, cheddar cheese & chives for $3 extra. My baked potato was not fully cooked oddly it was edible in the middle but hard on one end, was it fresh or reheated from last night? We'll never know. They charge extra for sour cream. My $9 house salad was your basic field greens with a couple of slices of cucumber and a grape tomato. None of the up charges were disclosed on the menu or by the server. We didn't try the dessert as we didn't want to waste anymore money. There was no soap in the ladies room makes me wonder how the servers are keeping their hands clean, the men's room had soap but no paper towels. read more

I really like this place! Environment as you'd expect - all wood and western signs on the walls, old dumpy bar kind of thing. Which I enjoyed. Definitely a beer and whisky place. But since I was having steak - and I really like wine with steak - I got the best bottle of wine in the house (the only good one they had) and it cost basically retail price. So a good deal for me! Most importantly - my steak was excellent! Good quality beef, flavorful, cut nice and thick. Not charred quite as heavily as I prefer, but not the cheap steakhouse grill marks either. Solid. Prices fair - expensive for a Western dive bar, somewhat less than a fancy steakhouse. Sides were also good - I got fingerling potatoes and veggies. My wife got a steak salad and it looked really good, so did the kids bison burger. Too few servers for sure, which made service slow. But oh well. I usually go to the Irma when I am in Cody because I love the history of the location and the cherry bar ... but the steak here is so much better, I may relegate the Irma to drinks. I will return! I think this is really a four-star place ... it's just a hair too expensive and dumpy at the same time ... but I liked my steak enough that I will go five stars! read more

Amazing place. We heard from our tour guide this was a wonderful place to eat in town. Arrived early and were seated right away, had a wonderful waiter. The ribeyes were cooked excellently, the blue cheese butter was one of the best I've ever eaten, and I have extremely high standards. When we arrived we were greeted quickly and our table was ready for us (we had made reservations) Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Our meals were excellent! Your reply is so far from the truth. 1st the bar door was the only one open and their families everywhere. Second the exact words out of your hostess mouth were " our kitchen said they are no longer going to cook for anyone after the party ahead of you!" Lastly I can give you a negative review because your customer service was horrible and that's the reason we couldn't eat. Your choice not ours. The food was absolutely delicious. The downside was the attitude of the staff. Daniel was our server and was great, however the manager and hostess need service industry training. We came into an empty restaurant and the manager was testy about us not calling ahead with 8 adults and 1 child in our party. This restaurant and bar are HUGE so nine people at 4pm should have been very easy to handle. We were there because our white water rafting guide suggested the restaurant and calling ahead would have been 5 minutes before we arrived. Then we were told that there was only one clean pitcher for water for the table. We didn't mind, but it was weird that they felt the need to tell us that. After we got our menus we were told that we should hurry to order because they had big groups coming in behind us and if we wanted our food out quickly we needed to order asap. The hostess was lackluster and didn't smile at any of the patrons. All in all we spent $300 on good food, but were made to feel like we were an inconvenience to the establishment. PS: In response to the owner's remarks below- Actually we are extremely well versed in the food and hospitality industry. Let me instruct you on what your response should have been. "We are glad you enjoyed your food and that Daniel was great. I apologize for the inexperience of some of my staff. We hope you will visit us again the next time you are in Cody." We showed up.. the lady who came to seat us, did not acknowledge us, just grabbed two menus and said follow me. We sat, the waitress how aired on us was very new....ordered wine and water..... took forever.... The food was great but they have plenty of help, just very unorganized......very disappointed. Really nice family joint. I like the old timey decor and homey feel of it. It's sort of wild west like. The service was really good. The ladies got us seated quickly, but we did also have a reservation. We ordered the "rocky mountain oysters" - Apparently they are quite popular and I thought they were pretty tasty. They don't have any really fancy drinks but well drinks seem to be fine. I got the chicken Cesar salad which I liked. My husband had the Walleye and he liked it. My father in law and mother in law each got some kind of steak that they also enjoyed. We got carrot cake too. They had a band there that night that was actually pretty good. They were a cover band. Absolutely TERRIBLE service! First, 9 of us couldn't be seated together, because "The Kitchen doesn't like large orders!" Second, They were out of several menu items, including 2 different types of steaks, so I ended up having to order a steak, which was twice the price of the one I wanted, because of poor management of the Kitchen! Third, When I ordered broccoli, as one of my sides, the waitress told me that they might be out of broccoli, and I would have to have greens beans in it's place! When the meal arrived, I had green beans on my plate, and I said "you must be out of broccoli?" The waitress said that they were not, but the kitchen was saving it for the people who ordered fish! When I mentioned this to the Manager, she stated that she couldn't do anything about it, because the "Kitchen, and Owner wouldn't do anything to correct it!
