Club sandwich for those who are really hungry.
Linda R.

I ordered the meatball sandwich which is served hot and delicious. husband ordered the club sandwich which should only be attempted by those with big appetites. It's an incredibly large, good meal.

My breakfast.

Breakfast was outstanding. Had the ham scramble hungry bear breakfast. Service is a little slow as the cashier is the busser, greeter, waitress, and changes all the drinks at the multiplexer. Needs another helper. Highly recommend stopping in, nice change up breakfast from the Hampton Inn every day.

Cute, comfortable, friendly and serving tasty food all rolled into one: That's Hungry Bear. It's called a restaurant, but it reminds me more of a cafe bordering on diner, but without the counter seating. With an expansive menu and a busy take-out business, this place deserves attention. The people traffic in and out even during my limited time was astounding. I think that's a good sign. It was a good sign based on my first time experience. My sandwich, the special that day, was probably the best Rueben I've had in quite a long time. The bread was toasty, the meat and kraut nicely balanced and there was not so much sauce as to make it soggy. I don't know what the chef did, but I still have fond memories of the sandwich. When I commented on it to my server, I was told the cook was her son, so maybe this is a family place. There isn't a lot of seating here, but it's a fun place to wait for a table. The conversations you overhear from the locals is a not to be missed adventure. I heard about horses, mules, barrel racing, rodeos and ranching and, of all things, coffee.

Three eggs over, medium, soft, bacon, and hashbrowns.

Wednesday morning, 9:30 AM. Good food. Good service. One server. Pretty typical quality for Cody. Nothing mind blowing. The bacon was the best part. I would have given five stars if it wasn't for the fact that they don't care enough to have at least one non-dairy milk option for coffee. Not a huge deal to most people unless you actually have a dairy allergy. Pretty simple really. Keep one carton of oat milk or coconut milk in the cooler. It is 2026 after all. Also, no sourdough toast. Only White, wheat or a muffin. These are just little things, but it's typically the little things that make the biggest difference in keeping customers coming back again and again.

The true Ultimate Burger
Alex C.

Visiting Yellowstone and we wanted burgers on our way back into Cody. Found the Yelp rating and stopped in for takeout just a few minutes before closing. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating despite the hour, talking with us about our experience in the park and suggesting what else we might want to make time to see. The two Ultimate Burgers were the best we've had on our trip across four states thus far, measuring almost 5 inches in height and piled with onion rigs and avocado with a dill spear on the side. Hands down amazing. Too bad we don't live in Cody, this would be one of our go-to places. The owner's mom also threw in a sample of their blood orange vinergrette with the steak salad - would reccomend!

Partially eaten shrimp basket. My daughter started eating before I took the pic. Also came within two hush puppies.

Food was tasty, service quick and it was just what we look for, a local feel not a chain diner.

Not open at 10:45 in the morning. Hours posted stated they were and Yelp identified them as "open now". But nope.

They likely don't wash the baking pans after making cinnamon pizza or rolls. Now, everything else on the menus will be awful along with the service. 1 beer took 35min to receive. The "sauce" for a salad was similar to children's play slime. The chicken nuggets were fried pieces of breading, no chicken, and almost broke my child's tooth. Thankfully taken off the bill in a way that seemed very common to the server. The arcade is 10% functional. 1 $.25 cent token successfully working and 3 being eaten. But if you like long waits bad food and people watching you're in for a treat! And oh what a show is on display! It was fun seeing everyone look around wondering where their food was after an hour of waiting, some forgot what they ordered or if they had at all. This establishment is literally the Bermuda triangle of Wyoming run solely by underage children, literally. Good luck and happy adventures searching for grand experiences in failed service! Definitely dine here only for the in person comedy of observing human failures on every level in real time! I wish I could give less than 1 star to help bring the overall average rating down to a more realistic level- say 1 star total average. Do not go here for food or drinks or games. We finally had to flag someone down to take our order. By that point, our son was starving, so we decided to order just one meal to see if the service would improve. He ordered the "Lobstah Roll" with a side of butter. What arrived was more like a cold seafood salad on a roll, along with a side of cold butter. Had he known that's what it was, he definitely wouldn't have ordered it. We weren't expecting an authentic Maine lobster roll, but if you're going to spell it "Lobstah," there are certain expectations--and this wasn't close. At some point, our original server seemed to realize she had forgotten about us, but the service never recovered. No one checked on us, offered refills, or asked if we wanted anything else. When we were ready to leave, we literally had to hold our credit card up to get someone's attention so we could pay and get out of there. Ironically, the moment we left, two employees immediately appeared to clear the table. The funny thing is that we saw other tables receiving great service throughout our visit. Maybe we were just unlucky, but based on our experience, I'd avoid sitting where we sat. Good luck to the next guests assigned that table.
