Their veggie omelette was delicious--possibly the best ever--filled with toppings and light on egg. Loved their light and fluffy, large hotcake. Hubby loved his classic breakfast. Jess sent us home with an amazing cinnamon roll. A suggestion that could put this over the top would be to offer a jam that's local rather than prepackaged offering. read more

We were in Cody for one night and Roosters was recommended by the manager of our motel. Only open for breakfast and lunch, we had breakfast and it was really good! The eggs were cooked perfectly, homemade sausage was very tasty served with your choice of bread (sourdough was real good) and fried potatoes. Our waitress, Suzanne, was a sweetheart. She brought coffee right away, took our order and the food came out quickly. She checked on us several times. The manager was also very nice. We will go back on our next trip through. One thing we learned about Cody, WY, is that it is short staffed. The first breakfast place we went to was actually closed due to staffing issues. At Rooster's Cafe, the service was very slow because of similar issues, and yes, we had to patiently wait, but the waitress was nice and trying. One suggestion is to have someone shadow new employees. The food was good, and we enjoyed sitting outside and eating breakfast on the covered patio. really good environment, and very friendly staff. unfortunately i had to wait an hour for my breakfast steak and eggs, that ended up being so heavily seasoned with pepper that it was hard to eat. wasn't given napkins or a fork until i had to ask after my meal came. i imagine this also could have come down to a bad day, so it's hard to be too upset. the staff was apologetic and very friendly, no hate to them at all. the mimosa flight was delightful though! super yummy, i'd say that's worth it if you're just looking for good mimosas. my boyfriend ordered the country fried steak and enjoyed it, so there is some redemption. prices weren't bad, in fact i'd say very reasonable. not gonna say don't come here, just gonna say be cautious if you're on a time crunch. read more

Finally had a chance to try Rooster's when a couple coworkers were passing through. We sat down at 11:30am on a Sunday. It wasn't overly busy. There were four of us and we each ordered a basic breakfast (omelette, French toast, biscuits and gravy, hash). 40 minutes later we still didn't have our food. The waiter was very young and did what most young people would do in an uncomfortable situation they had no control over - avoided us. We finally asked how much longer and he said "soon" and made the excuse that a big group had come in just after us. That didn't stop the couple that were seated after us and near us from getting their food though. They did offer us a free cinnamon roll to eat while we waited for our food, which we declined. Our food was finally deliver an hour after ordering. It was decent, but certainly not worth the wait. My friend specifically ordered a "build your own" omelette to avoid cheese, but ended up with copious amount of cheese both on top of and inside her omelette, rendering it virtually inedible for her. We were not offered a discount on our tickets. Sadly, we will not return and we won't be recommending them to any out of town visitors. read more

A new breakfast place in Cody. The food was delicious but it took about an hour to get served. The cinnamon roll was HUGE! It was shared amongst the table and was a favorite. I liked their take on breakfast potatoes too. The smothered burrito was good but I felt like it had no egg and was all cheese and bacon. An hour later didn't get the drinks until someone else started bringing food to our table. Biscuits and gravy, home fries, and eggs. We had high hopes for Roosters Café, but our experience was a mess from start to finish. The chicken was so dry my aunt actually choked on it -- no joke. Pancakes were dry and flavorless, the poached eggs weren't even slightly runny, and the bacon was barely cooked. The potatoes were the opposite: overcooked and tough. We let the manager know, and all we got was 50% off the chicken -- the same chicken nobody could eat. Pretty disappointing response for a table full of untouched plates. The only reason this isn't a zero-star review is because our server was great: attentive, kind, and clearly trying to make the best of a bad situation. Unfortunately, the kitchen and management didn't do their part. Definitely won't be back. read more

I have eaten at this place three times in the last two months and the first two times we had to wait over a half hour for a table because they are understaffed. Today they weren't too busy supposedly because we were seated within a minute of us walking in. The hostess was very friendly and the waitress came almost immediately to get our drink order and we both knew what we wanted to eat so it took our food order immediately also. The food seemed to take a long time to get to us because I was able to drink two full cups of coffee before our food came. The issue started when my daughter with autism didn't know that whipped cream would be on her French toast and so I took it off and put it in my coffee, which I drink black, and the biggest issue was the fact that the waitress Amanda once she served us our food never came back to the table so I had to eat my entire meal without anything to drink. I commented to my daughter that it's really sad that McDonald's probably would've been a better experience than we got today. I almost left no tip, but I just couldn't bring myself to do that to her when it's probably the fact that they're so terribly understaffed. My plan is never to go to this restaurant ever again. Order the New York strip with eggs meat was like a flat piece of beef jerky with so much meat rub on it that it was so salty that you had to scrape it. It was on both sides with that much salt eggs were raw when I asked for over a medium, and the New York trip was not even a New York strip. Best recommendation don't go here. read more

I feel angry to even have to give this one star. We were seated a few minutes after arriving. About 5 minutes later, they brought in another party of 3, followed by a party of 9 about 10 minutes later. Not one time did our server even acknowledge our existence, other than the glances she would give me as she walked by. We continued sitting there, watching as the other parties placed drink orders, were served their drinks, placed their food orders, and received food. We couldn't even get someone to just say, "Hey, we'll be with you in just a moment." I know we were a mere party of two compared to their party of nine, but we were seated well before them and were blatantly ignored. We finally got up and walked out, so we will give our money to another establishment, but it's extremely disheartening for a place to be in the hospitality industry and not know how to at least acknowledge the customers who came to give you their money. Greeted and seated immediately. Staff was friendly, and our server Emma was super nice. My wife's oatmeal came with fresh strawberries. She said it was delicious, and was a large portion. I had the breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs, potato's and sausage topped with the optional green chili verde sauce. It super delicious. The burrito was huge. I'm a big eater, but although I tried, I couldn't finish. Had to leave about a quarter of it behind. Service was fast, friendly and my coffee cup was never empty. Read a earlier review about slow service, but that was not the case this morning. Restrooms were clean and well kept. I HIGHLY recommend this place. I will come back on my next visit from SoCal. read more
