We have been to this establishment many times and we have never been disappointed. My favorite is the Mac and cheese waffle entree. We will always come back and try new things every time. The food here is second to none. They have many options and are all excellent. I frequent this place often and have never had a problem with the food. The oy complaint I can make is that they are slow. They do make the food to order but often it takes longer than that, and often different items at our table will be cold while others are very hot. Now the service is not slow everytime and has been getting a lot better in my past few vists and if they keep in this path they will have no issues or complaints from me. read more

Less than 2 yrs old, BTW offers quality, originality, and diversity for young to older patrons. Burgers, tacos and waffles: comfort favorites anyway you can imagine but with an added gourmet flair. Beer and wine available, and vegetarian and gluten free options including the Impossible burger. The Restaurant community praised BTW with 5 Forks in 2018. We asked about the history and learned the owners also own and manage Bru Tap House, a local pub next door that does not serve food. BTW was created to offer patrons of Bru a variety of items to complement the large selection of brews served next door. They succeeded with BTW, but with the quality of a 5 star rating burger joint that is perfect for families, tourists visiting Tavares, and pub goers. We were the last to arrive but as soon as we walked in we were greeted with fried Oreos! Just discovered this little place in downtown Tavares. We had a few of the tacos- the Gringo was just ok- not spicy or a lot of flavor, but if have a sensitive stomach, this is for you. The Trailer park and Buffalo chicken (both had deep fried chicken) were my two favorite tacos and my husband like the veggie taco best. The tots were excellent and definitely require a fork to eat them! The flour tortillas hold up to all the toppings better than the corn tortillas. Across the street is a nice park which is where we ate since the inside is smaller and tight quarters. If you taking the food to go, I recommend calling ahead, the wait for six tacos and tots was close to 30 mins. read more

This was right next door to the bru a cute little taproom in Mt.Doras downtown district. The customer service was great when ordering. They offer a deal for 3 tacos for $11 which is a great deal. They also sell beer but the list is limited and they are all cans if I'm not mistaken. I ordered the Dorito bag, KBQ, and another taco I sadly forgot the name of. The only thing I could say is during my time sitting there eating a few different girls each came up to the table and asked if everything was okay and if we needed anything. I appreciated this the first and second time but we where approached over 6 times during our visit. We kind of wanted to be left alone to eat in peace lol. But this is also preference. I went back a second time and tried the Trailer Park Taco which was also really good. The Street Corn Cobs were also good. What an interesting menu!! Look at the variety of things we ordered at a single table: korean taco, ramen fries, Brussel sprouts, blueberry French toast, waffles and a amazing salad. I think my favorite was the ramen fries dipped in the Brussel sprout sauce. The only trouble with the taco was that it was so stuffed that I ended up eating it with a fork - but so delish. I've been here a couple of times before and today was the worst the food has been. It's consistently gotten worse over each visit. I got the impossible burger, which was the greasiest out of everyone's food and the vegetables were extremely slimy. My boyfriend got the breakfast burger, which fell apart immediately, burger burnt on the outside and raw on the inside (supposed to be medium), and bacon burnt/chewy. Our waffle fries were soggy and unsalted which was also unusual. We presumed our food had been sitting in the window for a hot minute before we actually got it. When we brought it up to the manager she became defensive but was polite. She insisted that the veggies on the burger were supposed to be that way (who wants to eat slimy vegetables?) The bartender was fantastic though and my boyfriend loved the mojito he got. Overall was disappointed in the food, we ate it anyway because we were super hungry. My boyfriend has a culinary degree, has worked for several restaurants, and never complains because he understands sometimes things happen but the food was so bad he had to let the staff know so they could improve. We were in town for a volleyball tournament and brought a few team families with us to BTW. Staff was very friendly, helpful and patient with the group of us that hard never seen the menu before. Everyone LOVED what they got! The waffles were very pretty when served and utterly delicious to the last bite. The fried oreos (a first for me) were rich and delicious; such an interesting assortment of textures. I had three different tacos and all were 100% delicious with the perfect amount of toppings to yield the right blend of flavors. My absolute favorite was the Hot Chick'n Bed, an epic experience for your taste buds. I will be back on my next trip to Central Florida, even if I have to drive an hour out of my way. I've had chicken waffles at many places and this place was on the level of my favorite; The Screendoor in Portland, Oregon. Other people rave about The Coop in Orlando, but really The Coop has nothing on this place. The seasoning on the chicken, perfect sweetness in the syrup and a uniquely cooked waffle. The food was okay.. My +1 ordered something and was not a fan of it. Took no more than 5 bites. We asked for an exchange, being as it was our first time here. The owner scoffed in our faces and said "Well, we don't normally replace due to taste preferences just so you know." I have never been to a restaurant that doesn't care if the customer isn't happy with their food. This is simply unacceptable. Edit: After posting this review the owner came over, voice raised, and "called us out (her words)" saying "What, you thought you would write this review and I wouldn't see it? What did you expect me to do?!" Also staying that she is "new" to the resaurant business and "doesn't know what she is doing.
