Is there ANYTHING better than finding out you have a decent Waffle House in the area? No, no there is not. I am so grateful for this WH. Clean (I walked in and they'd just finished mopping the floor and the counter - where I love to sit - was almost spotless) and with friendly staff ready to serve you. My favorite thing about WH is the consistency, but you can still go to some locations that are suspect. This one in Mount Dora is NOT that. I genuinely look forward to coming back. Thanks to the lovely Maribel for spot-on service. My food was excellent, my belly was full, and my spirits lifted. A good Waffle House can do that for you. read more

Had breakfast here today with my mom, sister & brother-in-law & it did not disappoint! We all had eggs of some sort with meat & waffles. The waffles were delicious! So light & fluffy & not super thick! Just the right size! I had my eggs scrambled with cheese & they were delicious! Bacon was fully cooked the way I like it too! Our waitress Teresa was great! Attentive to all our needs & very courteous! Highly recommend stopping in here for breakfast or lunch! read more

The Waffle House is similar to an old-fashioned diner, including very friendly service but offers a much more limited menu - mainly breakfast and burgers. The food is simplistic but generous. The small hash browns covered about a third of my plate. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy came in a huge bowl and contained lots of pieces of diced sausage. I ordered pickles for my cheeseburger and received enough to cover the entire burger. The diner was accommodating to special requests. They provided pickles for my cheeseburger at no additional charge. Additionally, the waitress volunteered to charge me $1.50 for one of their original cheeseburgers making it half the price of the menu item of two original cheeseburgers for $3 because I only wanted one. While my mother devoured her biscuits sand gravy, pronouncing it delicious, the original cheeseburger and hash browns were greasy, typical of a greasy spoon type diner. The bottom bun was already completely soggy when the plate was delivered. the patty covered almost the entire bun so I got meat in every bite. The grilled onions were good. The side of hash browns (they don't sell fries) was similarly greasy, but the top layer was well grilled sand delivered a nice crunch. When I finished a layer of grease coated the bottom of the plate. read more

Amber is very Rude and unprofessional.. I ordered a grit bowl with egg white because I can't eat the yoke of the egg and hash browns on the side and when I went to mix my food there was ah air in it and I told amber and she took the plate and said they isn't a hair in it and then proceeded to hold the plate and talk to another customer. Then when I received my remake it was less portions of the food than before and it had regular eggs ! Not egg whites and she asked my friends at my table with me if they wanted to go drinks and containers but said nothing to me nor did she even look my way and she threw my friend to go container on the table and ignored me when I asked to one to go I've been here in Eustis/Lake county for 8 years and I've never experienced this before and I hope they get this taken care of because this is unacceptable and I'm not one to nitpick about things I just try to make is work but accusing me of basically lying about a hair in my food is outrageous and when she finally saw the hair she took it to the cook for the remake but was like I don't have red hair and the cook said the same thing but the thing was the hair wasn't red it was black and it wasn't my hair..... read more

This particular Waffle House has a habit of closing the low bar when they have staffing issues The low bar is handicapped accessible and it's set by patrons who can't use the narrow seating of the booths and/or can't safely utilize the high bar How is this legal or ethical? One would think they would close down a few high bar seats so they could keep some low bar seats open. read more

My wife and I had a very late breakfast (1:00 P.M.) at the Waffle House in Mount Dora. It was excellent!! We both had two eggs , hash browns, bacon and toast and she had orange juice and I had coffee. It was the most satisfying meal we have had for a long time. We always liked waffle houses when we use to travel - pre- Covid. But sometimes a Waffle House is not as good as another. Well, this Waffle House is one of the best. We were greeted walking in and told that they had an open booth off to the left in the corner which was clean and the only one not taken. Looked good to us. A waitress came over to give us menus and asked what we would like to drink and then came back in a couple of minutes as we requested to take our orders. Very friendly and down to earth atmosphere. As we waited for our order we struck up a conversation with a waitress who was taking a break nearby after the morning rush and immediately felt at home. We both had double hash browns (only $0.50 extra) and received plates with our eggs and potatoes as well as two plates of ample bacon and two small plates of toast. The food was delicious and the waitress came back a couple of times to refill my coffee cup. Everything and I mean everything tasted great. From the coffee to the toast - the bacon was superior to any I have had for a long time!! When we were done the waitress promptly got my wife a to go cup and a container for some of her bacon and hash browns and brought us our bill and offered to bring it up to the cashier for us. Very friendly and welcoming experience!! We will be back, often !!!!! read more

This is a solid location. Consistently friendly/quick service, delicious/fresh food, and the prices literally cannot be beat. My boyfriend and I go here all the time and always order the same things. My favorite order is: 2 eggs over medium and hash browns smothered and covered (w/ cheese and onions). Sometimes I'll throw in a pecan waffle if I'm feeling extra hungry, because they're so good! read more

Oh, Waffle House. My boyfriend loves you, but I do not. I am not a fan of diners. I find the atmosphere of them dirty, cold, and uncomfortable. We went for breakfast. One thing I appreciate is that they will make poached eggs, which is my favorite way to have them. However, when I received my poached eggs, I found a lot of water at the bottom of the bowl. Unfortunately, it was after I already broke into the egg and the yolk went everywhere, which made for watered down yolk. The bacon I ordered was actually really good. It was cooked perfectly crispy and was the one thing I really enjoyed. The other side that came with my breakfast was hash browns. I asked for them crispy, which they were...but only on the top. So the hash browns underneath were basically raw and not something I wanted to eat. I ended up peeling the top of the hash browns off and only eating that portion. Our service was great, hence the two stars. The waitress was very attentive, friendly, and seemed to enjoy her job. So in short, not a fan of the food or atmosphere at Waffle House. read more

Came to waffle house to enjoy some breakfast in the afternoon, i walked in and it was a complete ghost town, absolutely no one inside greeting people, no one eating, nothing. We tried to say hello as we clearly heard employees in the back, no one responded, after 25 mins of waiting no one came out to great us or even take our order. As we all know all Waffle Houses aren't created equal, even though there are only a few different building designs making any location easily identifiable, the differences between all of them is usually on the inside and usually centers around the store's manager and location. This location is in the top 5 of any I've ever been to and I think the location is the biggest factor in this particular case. First off the place was extremely clean from the floors to the tables to the staff's uniforms. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was put together well and was actually pretty good. Although I usually only ever consider Waffle House as a breakfast option i might would do a quick lunch here if time was an issue since the service was so fast and everything is usually made to order. They get a thumbs up from this customer. read more

Ate their two mornings in a row. Normally I am not a fan of Waffle House. I had a bad experience with the one in Key Largo, Florida. This Waffle House, was exceptionally clean, with a great waitstaff. The food is what you would expect from a Waffle House. The waitstaff as well as the cooks make all the difference. They were every nice and efficient. Good enough for us to go back the second day in a row. Not because of the food, which was good, but because of the staff! I would not go out of my way to go to any Waffle House, but if you are near this one, not a bad idea to try it out. read more

I'm confused as to why the prices at this Waffle House are so expensive. Yeah it's nice that it's all new and whatever, but I'd rather eat at a dumpy old Waffle House where it's normally cheap. They don't even have the same menu. I don't know if it's because rich people live around mount dora? My favorite Waffle House so far. Our server (Maribel) was quick, pleasant, and very attentive. The place was clean. The dark-haired young man (Jay, I think) that prepared our food did a great job. I don't have the names of the other staff members, but they addressed us warmly. Also, I noticed how clean and presentable the employees were. I can't stand to have my food handled by people that look like they don't bathe regularly. Yes, I'm a bit of a germophobe. That's why I like this Waffle House over many others. read more

I have been going to Waffle Houses for over 40 years throughout the South and this is THE most efficient, clean, and methodical WH I have ever seen. The wait and grill staff worked seamlessly together and delivered the food quickly and well prepared. I am accustomed to 1 grill person and maybe 2 servers. This place has 2 grill people, a cashier who works the counter and booths, and two additional servers who help with the other tables and kitchen. I was fascinated at how well everyone worked together and out of the way of each other. Food was good as usual. read more
