There are lots of delightful restaurants there (according to yelpers) but many were located downtown and parking was hard to find so we decided to go to Fifth Avenue Streatery since we had driven by and there was lots of parking. All of which the tables are outside on a charming patio with lots of interesting decor. It was 11:30 so the day was pleasant and sitting outside was fine. Not sure how I would feel about that in August. Our waitress was Haley (guessing at the spelling) and she was bubbly and very attentive. The menu wasn't overwhelming and I always think that's a good sign that most of the food is being prepared fresh and not pulled from a freezer. My mom ordered the fish sandwich with tomato and cucumber salad. After ordering the Italian Haley said they were out of beef until the owner arrived so I went for the day's special which was a seafood basket: two pieces of fried fish, four huge shrimp and clam strips. Clam strips are not my favorite but these were very crisp and tasty. It was served with fries and cold slaw. We both agreed the food was very good. I asked for some cocktail sauce and after a few minutes she came back with saying she had to make some. It was fantastic, very horseradish forward which I loved. I am glad we couldn't locate our first two choices since we got to eat at this funky little place and have the best server in all of Mt. Dora.

When we entered, Chelsea recognized him and he said it was good to not just be back, but to recognize someone on the staff. Nice to say hi. We had a different bartender that I didn't catch his name, but very friendly. We were there for the happy hour menu, so ordered a couple drinks to cheers to a weekend in Florida to see his momma and family. I've never had a Wagyu burger, so decided to treat myself while he ordered duck wings. The burger was fantastic, and stunned at the amount of fries provided! So many, but they were delicious. He enjoyed his duck wings. This place is charming, and fairly spacious for a bar. Additionally, the bathrooms were clean and easy to use. Overall, a great experience and I'm sure the next time we come to Mount Dora, we will check this place out!
