Nice building/ restaurant near the tracks and the Dora lighthouse. Upstairs sports bar type environment. Has a short menu of burgers and fries type foods. I grabbed a warm pretzel with cheese dip which was good. I went to The Yardery with friends after attending an event in Mount Dora. We wanted to grab a quick bite in a casual setting. This was a really cool place/concept. It is a two story building with outdoor seating only. On the first floor you have a yard with ganes for all ages, a fire-pit and live music. We went to the second floor to a sat there. Our server was friendly and super chill. He kept checking on us so that was appreciated. The food and portions were good. The only item wasn't a huge fan were the wings. They were dry-rub versus a sauce. They use a lot of disposable items, like plastic cups and silverware. I wish they had reusable (and stronger) silverware. Overall, it was a fun time. Stopped in for a burger during the blueberry festival so I could get both a seat and some shade instead of grabbing something off the street. Service took a few (very reasonable!) minutes to get going being that it was a busy day and time. This looks like a great place to kick back with friends, with the outdoor spaces and games. Not sure if the DJ was a special event or a weekend staple, but the overall vibe was fun for all ages. I had the burger and added the sweet potato fries, and I'll start with the drawbacks first. The burger cost $18 (I don't think they seem to have an option other than the signature one that comes with cheese, bacon and special sauce. I added what I thought are basic af toppings, lettuce and tomato, and removed a premium one, bacon. Had a 25 cent each upcharge for the lettuce and tomato without the "hey, there's an extra charge " heads up while ordering. The sweet potato fries looked amazing, cooked to a great color, visible salt flakes, but not even the lil skinny ones had a shred of crisp to them. The burger itself...while I could be picky and long for a smidge more seasoning or salt...actually made up for the fries shortcoming. Double stacked beef, juicy, with an impressive sear on the meat. Overall pleased with the experience. I'd go back, but probably would see if the regular fries fare any better. read more

We came here over the weekend for lunch and had a great experience! There were two floors to pick from, and both covered and uncovered seating areas. Upon arriving you are able to pick your seat! The service was quick and prompt! The food did come out quick, but not all at the same time. Not a huge deal but it was a few minutes between each entree being delivered. The food was really tasty and you can tell was made fresh! Everything we ordered came out perfect! One downside was the cutlery, they only offered individually wrapped plastic forks and knives, which not a deal breaker, but even the hot honey chicken was giving that fork a good workout! What a great place! I love how they have their own parking lot, away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. The ambiance of "The Yardery" exhibits a clean playground with 2 bars, and numerous bar games for all to enjoy! The menu was a bit sparse, but the food was very good! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of their product. I highly recommend coming to this establishment. Be sure to visit early because it fills up quickly! read more

The Yardery is a great addition to the Mt Dora food and drink scene. My wife and I went after the Mt Dora plant festival and had a great time. The outdoor second floor was awesome with the beautiful weather, service was fast and friendly, and the food was very tasty. We went with the nachos and added short rib, and definitely would recommend them. Great size to share as well! Let's get the good out of the way. The atmosphere is excellent. It is covered outdoor seating (think giant porch) in downtown Mount Dora. It is just up the hill from the lake so you get a nice breeze. They have corn hole and a ping pong table. It is very cute. The servers were very nice although clearly overwhelmed. I do believe this will solve itself once they have been open for a bit and get into the groove. The food was mediocre and took a very long time to get. I am sure once they have been open for a bit the timing will get worked out. What really drove down the rating was the amount of feathers that were still attached to the wings. I am well aware of where they come from but I would like all the plucking to be done before I get the wings. We removed at least 5 separate feathers. It will be a while before I go back. read more

Beautiful Sunday in Mount Dora so stopped by here for the 3rd time. First two times were solid, had a 10-14-19yr old in tow, let's do it. Chicken nachos are terrible. The chicken could possibly be Tyson pre cooked and cut from Publix. Very bland. Cheese is white runny queso. 1.7/10 Ordered a cheese pizza. Sauce, cheese. It's not on menu but server said we can ring in the Marg pizza and make that work. Came out wrong. Right one was 5.8 Hot honey chicken- solid as always. Probably top 4 chicken Sammy in Central Florida. Sweet potato fries good. 9.1 Hot pep/sausage flatbread- little undercooked by 6.3 This is a blah experience at the moment which is fine. Can't be great every day...but then the server walks by with 4 plates of other people's eaten food and drops them next to us. Sauce flies all over my son's legs, shorts, and shirt. Server apologized, helped with clean up. Mess up order, spill other people's sauces all over a patron and no manager? Full price bill. My first visit to The Yardery was really great! It had been raining and the upstairs was closed off (not sure if the two were related or if just staffing; private dining; etc) so we sat downstairs at a high top. Brandon was quick with welcoming us and giving some recommendations on the menu. I got the Mount Dora Sunset and it was delicious. Perfectly balanced! I ordered the wings as my meal and my partner chose the pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich was enjoyed and the wings were ok. They were meaty, but a bit dry when I bit in to them. The cardinal sin of not having blue cheese dressing for wings was a disappointment, however these wings are not hot by any means and I will say their ranch was tasty. Hand-cut fries were delicious. Based off of this experience my review would be 4 stars. I enjoyed this visit so much much I came back a week later on a day off for lunch with my bestie. This visit was not like last time. (Which is a good reminder of why I usually wait until I've tried somewhere more than once before reviewing.) We sat upstairs and it was fairly busy (at least compared to the last visit) with 3 other tables eating and a handful of folks seated at the bar. I was very excited to get another Mount Dora Sunset and my gf ordered a margarita. First thing I noticed is that the drink looked very different from last time and the flavor was definitely different too. Same ingredients but maybe the measurements weren't the same? It wasn't awful, and I wasn't going to waste the rum so down the hatch it went! I got a buffalo chicken flat bread and my gf got the Baja fish tacos with the twisted street corn side. The flat bread was good, a little crisper would have been better so I'll remember that for next time I go. My friend said the tacos were good, a little sweeter than expected, but good and the street corn was devoured. Service was where this visit fell short. I don't think it was to blame on our server but more so on the set up. I haven't been here on a hopping weekend but I can't imagine it would run smoothly. It seems they have the bartenders doubling duty as the servers which as you can imagine is stretching them thin. Again, maybe they are better staffed at the busiest times, but we encountered 2 people to take orders, make drinks, run food, clear dishes, etc. and it didn't give the level of service you'd want or expect. I asked for a side of ranch dressing that showed up as I was ready for a box for my leftovers. And a refill that I had given up on happening just after. Again, I don't blame the staff on this, but it seems they may need to either increase staffing or find a better system. I'll be back for sure and will update if that visit changes my rating. read more

Nearly the worst nachos I've ever purchased. Corn chips with cheese wiz drizzled over them. The chicken obviously was taken from a refrigerated supply. Shredded lettuce dribbled on top with a dollop of sour cream and a couple tablespoons of black beans. Supposed to have pico but it must been the invisible variety. We hit up The Yardery on a Saturday night with a crew of six, and it was honestly a great time. Plenty of seating (hallelujah), awesome live music (David Townsley crushed it), and a menu that, while not huge, had solid choices. The buffalo chicken flatbread was the star for sure. The drinks were creative. I loved the Lavender seasonal cocktail, although it was a little too sweet for my taste to order more than one. If you like your drinks flirty and full of personality, that one's for you. Clean bathrooms, good lighting, and a super cute outdoor space with games like cornhole and ping pong. It was packed with families and kiddos running around, so just know it leans very family-friendly. Not a bad thing-just not your quiet wine-bar vibe. Also, big bonus: it's dog friendly! We saw lots of happy pups lounging around like they owned the place. So if your furry friend enjoys live music and snacks dropped by toddlers, they'll love it too. There's both upstairs and downstairs seating, it's beautifully lit at night, and parking was surprisingly easy, with nearby lots available. Our server - Jamie, I think? - was a gem. Friendly, fast, and came through with this handy little tablet that let us split the check by item. No math, no drama. Loved that. All in all, we had a blast. This place is super cute. There's not a lot of parking because it's in the middle of Mount Dora, but there is a small parking lot across the street. I don't know if there's inside seating, but they have plenty of umbrellas and a covered awning area by the bar with plenty of seating and fans running. They have games on a lawn where kids can play, and you can bring your dogs! They even offer a dog menu & provide water for your pup! read more
