We came here for appetizers and drinks and had an amazing time. Our server Danny took great care of us and guided us though their vast menu. Happy hour is a good deal especially with a 9 dollar old fashioned. Stop by if you're in the area. It is totally worth the trek as well.

Food: the reason for the 3 stars. I had high expectations because of all the praise 1921 gets and have been wanting to check it out for years. I ordered the Confit Dr. Joe's Duck Leg over Anson Mills Blue Barley, Cherry Jus & Hakurei Turnips ($40). The leg was well executed, juicy and apparently marinated and cooked for several hours, but I did spot a mildly undercooked part in it. The duck/barley ratio was 1/4 and duck on top of a what turned out to be a barley "al dente, dryish salad" was not a wise decision in my humble, non-Chef opinion. My friend's chicken liver pate with dark bread was delicious, but something I'd never thought about ordering at a restaurant. The goat cheesecake didn't taste like goat but was well executed. Service: excellent. Our server checked on us several times and was patient and polite. Ambiance: inviting and sophisticated.

This was one of the top 2 recommendations for dinner in Mount Dora and where we chose to eat our first night in town celebrating my birthday. At first, I was a little worried that the menu looked a bit limited. Let me just say, I was pleasantly surprised. The location is unique with a patio entrance and cozy dining areas adorned with art throughout the inside. The food was well prepared with unique blends of flavor. We started with the rolls which were good but the pimento butter stole the show. My husband wanted to try the jalapeño poppers but we were not a fan. I chose the filet and it was the best I've had in a while. Very tender and full of flavor. My husband got the Wahoo entree and said it was just okay (but he ate half of mine). The blueberry cobbler was amazing with just the right amount of cobbler and plenty of fresh blueberries topped with ice cream. The service was stellar and our server brought out a birthday dessert with a candle at the end. Our menus were also printed with a Happy Birthday note next to the date. Great touches that make a meal memorable. Would definitely come back when visiting.

Solid tasty hamburger, and great mocktail! Madison did a great job of serving us. A special place in mt Dora - which has many places to eat - but "1921" is a cut above !

I can't recommend 1921 enough! We dined here about a month ago and took advantage of Orlando's magical dining program. We tried several dishes, but the pork chop and chicken breast stuck out the most. Everything was full of flavor! It was a beautiful night and we were able to sit outside. It was nice being amongst downtown Mount Dora and all their visitors. The service was great! This is now one of our favorites!

1921 is a very cute restaurant in downtown Mount Dora. The server was nice and was willing to accommodate allergies in the mixing of cocktails. My husband and I got the magical dining menu. The soup was very good but everything else was lack luster.

The restaurant is located in a quaint town, in the heart of downtown. It has nice ambience to enjoy a private meal. The service was great, very attentive.

Appetizers during happy hour: mushrooms and fish dip. Yum!

Happy hour on St Patrick's Day. Guinness of course! Delicious mushroom and fish dip appetizers. Highly recommend!

Somehow this delicious work of art is shrimp and grits.

I bump them up. I've been in a few times now and thoroughly enjoy them everytime ...especially when they're quiet. Burger's in my top ten. Conch fritters were better than anything I've had in the Keys Goddammned Goddamned. Now, if they only had chowder. Exemplary waitstaff round out excellence in foodthings. Happy, happy, happy.

We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was nice they had happy anniversay on the menu. With that our service while here was pretty good there was a while where I didn't have any water in my glass but overall good service. The restaurant was very nice and clean inside as well. On to why we didn't like it so much. The food. I really liked my fruit loop cocktail and the speck and rolls. But my Fiance and I both really did not like our entrees. The duck was off tasting, yes I've had a lot of duck so I can say for certain it was the duck. I really wanted to like this but somehow there was just no flavor and very little seasoning and with the off taste of the duck I couldn't finish my food. I did like the rye spaetzle on my plate though it was slightly crunchy and had a great taste. The dish was really well presented. My finance got the bourguignon and it was almost like there was no salt or pepper or hardly any seasoning at all on it. There was just a meat flavor which was not bad we just wish it was seasoned. The potatoes that came with didn't taste right either almost like it was burnt or there was burnt or spoiled butter used in making them.

We've finally found our new favorite restaurant! The fact that this is so close to our home is dangerous for our wallets and our waistlines. My fiancé and I came to 1921 for our Anniversary dinner. We made a reservation online about a week in advance. We arrived a bit early and we were seated promptly. Our server Darcy was so kind and welcoming. It was a nice touch they gave us menus that said "Happy Anniversary" now I kinda wish I would have kept one. Since it was our first visit and a celebration dinner we wanted to sample a bit of everything. I ordered the seasonal gin-based cocktail "Kiss from a Rose" and my love went with the old fashioned. I thoroughly enjoyed my drink (so much I had a second) and my partner enjoyed his as well. We chose the Parker Rolls and Raw Oysters for our starters and they were delicious! The strawberry-lime butter was incredible! And the rolls were somehow crispy and soft all at once. I selected the diver scallops entree and my partner went with the short rib pasta. My scallops were cooked to perfection and the carrot curry purée was tasty! The short rib pasta was a bowl of comfort executed exquisitely. We had to try dessert and to my delight the sorbet was lemon sorbet. Lemon sorbet has been my favorite "ice cream" flavor since I was a child. We would go to the Häagen Dazs scoop shop in Winter Park and they always had lemon sorbet and I've tried just about every version I've ever seen, but this one...this one puts my favorite to shame! So new favorite! The only downside to this magical experience is that the menu can change daily based on what's in season, etc. so I may never get to have it again. We loved the art pieces on the walls and the dining room had a nice volume level. It was also nice to not be cramped in close quarters. We will definitely be back soon and want to experience the other areas of this beautiful, magical restaurant.

Basically have become regulars at 1921! We love brunch and dinner. Pork chop has become a recent favorite. We have different servers every time but Chris always checks in on us which we appreciate!

Is this a dressy restaurant ? We will be on vacation in shorts and don't want to be under dressed. Thanks

Smart casual should be fine. I wore a collared shirt and khakis and didn't feel over or under dressed.

The drinks were priced great and the soup and burgers were so good! But I went 01/10/2026 at 230pm (busy rush for a pub on a Saturday) and I ordered a burger and soup because they have a soup of the day each day, who doesn't love that. Well my soup came out quick and I was pleased with that, it was chicken orzo soup, so good! Well I start getting to the soup and thought oh wow they put cheese in here, didn't tell me it would have cheese and I'm rubbing it around in my mouth cause I like to taste my food you know? Well it wasn't cheese...... IT WAS SOMEONES CHEWED MINTY GUM IN MY MOUTH STUCK IN MY TEETH I got sick (in a napkin of course) and informed my server, ran to the bathroom some more getting sick and when I came back my server informed me I wouldn't pay for anything, I made a comment that maybe the dishwasher didn't do a good job but the server told me he wish that was the case that it was intended for an employee on break and he thought it was mine in the window and it wasn't, he apologized, well I took a couple shots of whiskey to kill the bacteria hopefully. I asked for a manger to come talk to me because I work in the food industry and I don't feel it was handled correctly, he informed me the manger was not there he had to text her to get the approval for the bill. So I was definitely taken back. I have never had anything like this happen to me and the two girls I was with also tasted the soup because I said it didn't taste right and they was literally given a bill for their 15$ burgers and I got a 10% card to hopefully come back. I have called twice to talk to a manger and have not gotten through to anyone, I've seen messages online to suspected owners and still nothing back, I was told the guy with the gauges in the kitchen is the one that did it, I woken up with a sore throat today and will be going to get tested and they will be informed of my medical bills by a lawyer. PS my friend ordered a burger Togo a few hours later for her aunt I went in to get the burger and pay with my 10% card and the short haired short server with glasses was seen laughing at the computer about the situation, I just don't think it was funny at all.
