Carmen is an absolute star! Last year, she made me the single best drink I've ever had--a creation I've literally dreamt about and raved to other bartenders about for the past year. I was lucky enough to come back today and order another masterpiece from her: a basil-infused gin martini. She is incredibly talented behind the bar, and Back Porch Pizza Bar is lucky to have her! read more

My mom and I visited here during the very busy Mount Dora Craft Fair. We stopped in for lunch and had about a 40 minute wait. They have a system where they will call your cell phone when your table is ready. We got a hightop tables outside. There seems to be quite a bit of outside seating with a few spots and bar inside. Our server was friendly and had a good attitude through the rush. We ordered a Green Day salad and a Pepper Mi-Roni pizza to share. For $15 for the salad, it was extremely small. Honestly the size of a small side salad. With the price we thought it would be big enough to share like side salads for the pizza but we were wrong. The pizza was pretty good. I appreciate small cup pepperonis on pizza. The crust was crisp from being in the fired oven. The lunch was decent for fueling us the rest of the day. read more

Waitress looked at us a couple times, but we're completely ignored. After waiting a while we left.

This place is a total vibe from the spot delicious pizza the strong drink in the atmosphere overall both indoor and outdoor this is definitely a must go to place in Mount Dora. Located in a heart of everything but just enough out of the way that the parking is convenient this place has it all a great 90s music playlist was playing on the night I went and it was pleasantly occupied but not packed to the point that I had to wait for a seat, the staff was a attentive and even offered some suggestions. I had the espresso margarita, which was absolutely fantastic and made with real fresh espresso and tequila.. They have gluten-free pizza crust available as well and I will update this review when I go back a second or third and maybe even a fourth time. read more

Places like Back Porch can turn anyone on to thin crust pizza. I was trying to figure out where I wanted to get my first pie here in Mount Dora. The restaurant itself offers delicious pizza - today's choice, the Dora-Rita (BPP's version of a Margherita). Loved this, in particular the sauce (not too salty or sweet) and the CRUST! So very good with an excellent crunch to it. And they had my favorite red wine - Sangue di Giuda (yes, please!). The setting is 10/10. This is where you want to sit and eat apps, more than one bottle of wine, and enjoy a wonderful meal on a beautiful Autumn night with friends or family. Finally, thanks to Adair for the lovely service - great first visit! Grazie! read more

Started the night out with red and white sangrias and they were delicious and beautifully garnished. The bountiful flavors of the Mediterranean Humus Spread was heaven to my tastebuds. So refreshing and a very generous serving. The Sausage Party Pizza was more than fantastic! The dough was cooked to perfection and it was love at first bite! We'll definitely be back. The service and atmosphere was outstanding. read more

Visited on a Saturday afternoon and was sat outside under the big tree up front. We ordered two beers and shared the chicken wings (buffalo). Service was fast but our server straight up just didn't want to be there. She was rude to all the guests around us. Had one drink and left. Wings were ok; the pieces could be bigger. read more

I was in Orlando today and decided to make a pit stop in Mt. Dora on my way home. Around dinner time I was walking around the downtown area and happened upon this appealing pizza restauarant. The outdoor seating arrangements were fabulous but it was too hot to sit outside today so I ventured inside instead. The menu has about ten different pizzas as well as some appetizers and salads. I opted for the sausage party pizza. It had sausage, bacon, pepperoni, prosciutto, ricotta, mozzarella, and shaved parmesan cheese. It was very tasty. Service was quick and friendly from all staff. read more

Went to Shadracks down the road and then also tried this place. NO CONTEST! Back Porch pizza the superior tasting pizza for sure. Tried their pepperoni pizza with cupped pepperonis and it was excellent. Got the pizza to go, but the atmosphere seemed like it would be nice. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend! read more

My boyfriend and I tried "Back Porch Pizza Bar". We went there Sat for lunch. We were very hungry. Once we stepped in the place. We felt that something is very unique about it. Place had nice vibe to everyone. Everyone was smiling and each employees had own style which was very welcoming. We were so happy that we found it. I saw some customer enjoyed watching Sunday games themselves and with servers. When we were deciding what to eat, we learned that we can make mixed pizzas on one pizza. So I wanted to have mushroom and my bf wanted pepperoni. They were so delicious. We could tell that qualities of each ingredients were greatly fresh and tasty. My mushroom was no too oily. My bf who is very picky about food in general. He was very impressed and enjoyed every bite. Pizza had nice amount of crispiness, no too thick or not too think. So we weren't overly stuffed at the end. Wings were so juicy and meat came out easily. Blue cheese dipping sauce was super perfect. The waitress we had was very professionalism. She took very care of us. We were so happy that we found great pizzeria. It's so hard to find great one these days. I highly recommend to everyone. Back porch pizza bar would become your favorite pizzeria. read more

Next day edit: I experienced food poisoning. I won't just assume it's from here but I did not eat anything for 6 hours before this meal, and began feeling symptoms only 2 hours after this meal. Take what you want from that. The pizza is fine, if you want to wait 30 minutes. The servers are great, but the manager needs to be trained on how to pick up on customer service. -2 stars for the manager on 12/21. She knew our pizza was sent out wrong, even though it was just a tiny detail that would not have been a big deal if she were the tiniest bit service-oriented and solution-oriented. I mentioned that the $3 jalapeño dusting was on the wrong pizza. All she said was "Oh. Sorry." and then walked off. Our server Sara came minutes later and we asked for a jalapeño dusting on the correct pizza. she was extremely apologetic and reacted in a way that a manager in any respectable establishment would. Unfortunately for this establishment, the manager does not have the same amount of skill as the multiple servers we encountered this evening. read more

Great place! Loved sitting outside. They had heating lamps speckled around. The drinks were creative and delicious and the food was so good we killed two pizzas, their cheese bread and drinks. We had a pizza on their specials which had bell pepper, jalapeños, pepperoni, banana peppers and I think something else. Then we had the carnivore pizza. Our waitress was also great, she was sweet and attentive. So glad we stopped! Great spot to enjoy the lights this season too. read more

We thought this would be a good lunch spot and it was. We chose to share the Dora Rita pizza and the Green Day Salad. It was more that enough food for the two of us. The marinara sauce on the pizza was exceptional and there was lots of basel. While the crust was good, I would have liked it more crispy - our waitress told us to ask for that next time ... maybe we'll stop again next year! The salad was fresh and dressing added to it. Sitting outside with a bit of a view of the lake was relaxing. Service was very good. read more

Went there for lunch. Staff was pleasant and food was ok. I would give it another shot.

Amazing pizza and a great location. It's perfect for walking around Downtown Mt. Dora and explore the shops after

Best meal we've had in Florida! Beet and goat cheeses salad was excellent, paired with a rose' and the truffle/ricotta meatball sliders - such flavors! Don't miss the dessert of their homemade knotty knots with cinnamon, butter, frosting and powdered sugar. Oh! So good. Our waiter, Kacey was attentive and really helpful about other restaurants and some of the local tours. He came out with brochures for tours we were interested in. Can't wait to return! read more

On a Saturday afternoon, there's nothing better than sitting outside under the sky on a beautiful evening, enjoying a glass of wine and taking in the beautiful scenery around you. This is exactly how I felt at the back porch. The scenery, atmosphere and our server were just great. Food and drink was another issue. We had the red sangria which was entirely too sweet. We also shared the beet and goat salad and the Fungool pizza which is supposed to be topped with truffle oil and balsamic, we tasted no truffle oil at all and the balsamic was too much. Little improvement in the food and drink will go a long way. read more

While visiting Mount Dora, we stopped by Back Porch and the place was absolutely packed. I figured the wait would be long, but after talking with the general manager Rachel, she guided us perfectly and got us seated. She had eyes on every table, checking on everyone. I don't know how she managed it, but she handled that floor like a pro. The service overall was great for such a busy night. Kacey was our server and he did an excellent job. The pizza was delicious and the whole experience felt easy and genuine. We left with full stomachs and full hearts. Forever grateful. read more

Ok, I am back re-reviewing Back Porch Pizza Bar. I was promised that the quality issue I complained about a few months ago was corrected. I frequent the music in the ally behind Back Porch on Saturday evenings. A few months ago I got a pepperoni pizza that was very sparse on pepperoni. To say the least I gave a very poor rating. Tonight I was told the issue was fixed and that I would get a good pepperoni pizza (plenty of pepperoni). So here I am giving a 5 star review for a great pepperoni pizza. I hope they continue the quality! read more

My brother that lives in the area told me to check out this place. Absolutely no disappointment from me. From the moment I walked in - I felt like I was a regular. The staff was SO friendly, and not in a fake way that you typically get at restaurants. The inside has a few small tables, and a bar area that seats 5. They have a beautiful patio area that has abundant seating. Their food is made fresh to order. The kitchen is open concept, so you can watch them make your food if you'd like. I loved watching them mix everything together and hand make the meatballs to throw into the wood stone oven. I would recommend this place 1000000 times over. Carmen was so personable, and once a rush came in - she mastered it like a champ. Nicolas (sp?) I was also fun to chat with and you can tell that he puts his heart into what he makes. It was fun watching him work. Even in such a small space - everything and everyone flows together. I think that's super special. The food was phenomenal and I can't wait to come back. This will definitely be a regular spot of mine. read more

The pizza (The Baller) and the appetizer ( Don't Stand So Close To Me) was GREAT and the service matched the food. I wish I could remember the servers name but she was training a new crew member and her name is Maxine. We're from New Orleans and was visiting my son. We love to visit Mt. Dora and when we come back I this will be the First Place we come back to. Would've love to sit "on the porch" but it started raining so we went inside. You get to see them make and cook your order out in the open. Again it's a must stop if you're in Mt. Dora. read more

Picked Back Porch for it's great reviews and it did not disappoint. We had the Limelite and it was Ceviche Heaven! We also had the Notorious F.I.G , Say cheese pizza, and one of their specialty pizzas of the day. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. We went on a Sunday and just had to wait 20 minutes they sat us fairly quickly under the patio heater and the night was just absolutely perfect! Holy Garlic Knots. Fresh garlic oozing with butter and fluffy bread make the garlic knots an appetizer to remember. The marinara was a little tangier than I personally like but the ranch was amazing. Always exciting when a new restaurant comes to downtown Mount Dora. We were exited that a wood-fired pizza restaurant was the new addition. This place has a nice outdoor dining area that was a nice place to sit alongside the farmers market. We tried two of the cocktails which were both flavorful and refreshing. For pizza we ordered the Fungool which was a mushroom lovers dream. Plenty grilled portobello, a mushroom ragù as the sauce, ricotta, arugula, truffle oil and balsamic reduction. It truly was a mushroom explosion. We also ordered the If You Like Pina Coladas which was a pizza with coconut bechamel, pineapple, spam, and fontina topped with coconut flakes. This was also good and a nice take on a Hawaiian pizza. We did feel it was missing something along the lines of what you would get from a tomato sauce. Overall both pizzas were delicious and we are looking forward to return more. The dough recipe is delicious and just eating the crust was a treat. Definitely try this out on one of your trips to Mount Dora. read more

New favorite spot. The fact they serve BOTH pizza and poke, I knew I would fall in love with this hidden gem in Mt Dora! Started off with the Fungool pizza and the mushroom with truffle oil did not disappoint. The first bite was heavenly and the dough cooked in a brick fire over was perfect! I also really enjoy when pizza has ricotta cheese on it. Rounded up with the OG poke bowl. FANTASTIC. It had diced ahi tuna tossed in poke sauce, cucumbers, red onions, tomato, mango, green peas, radish, micro greens, avocado, wonton chip, sesame seeds, drizzled with sambal aioli. One of the best most refreshing poke bowls. I do wish we saved room for dessert because the menu looked amazing! read more
