This was the perfect place to grab lunch after antique shopping all morning. I was getting hangry and looked for the closest pizza place and was so glad I stumbled upon this establishment. The restaurant is really cute. It looks to have been a house at some point before which makes for great seating rooms. The service was great. The server was friendly and constantly checking on us. Also the appetizers and pizza came out timely. I started with a glass of red sangria. It was fruity and crisp. We ordered the caesar salad and garlic knots. The salad was so well dressed and fresh. The red sauce was awesome and I just kept dipping the garlic bread into it with every bite. We also ordered a pizza to share. There was a good amount of toppings including pepperoni, sausage, and veggies. It was really great pizza and cooked perfectly. I can't wait to come back when I'm back in the Mount Dora area. Great pizza house! We went for dinner ordered a pizza and chicken Florentine the pizza was spot on the chicken Florentine came with too many pasta noodles. The service was great very attentive and helpful. We also ordered a bottle of wine which was very good. Walkable from downtown, about 10 minutes through a neighborhood. Inside what appears is an older house. Patio seating is the old porch with three tables, but not outside. Inside is setup to allow big groups to sit together if needed. Pizza, calzones, salads, lasagna and pasta all on the menu. We tried the 10 inch Supreme, which is six pieces and feeds one. And the chicken caesar salad, which costs more ($15.50) than the pizza ($14.75); this in Dec 2024. The chicken is delicious, very fresh and the dressing mixed perfectly. However, don't think lettuce, a couple pieces of chicken, Parmesan and croutons should be at this price point. The Supreme pizza was excellent with a good crust, just the right amount of sauce and loaded with meats of sausage and pepperoni, plus onion in just the right amount. Every bite was amazing and even my friend who didn't order pizza was asking for a piece after they tasted a bite. Bathrooms were a bit disgusting, so bad that my friend chose to forgo. Plenty of parking if you're driving. Service is prompt and friendly. Quick drinks. Checked on us several times before we ordered. Food came out in roughly 15 minutes. Kept checking back and brought the check out early because they had already closed at 9p. I would eat here again, just use the bathroom or wash your hands before you visit the restaurant! read more

The house was nice and cozy. They had different dining area and a bar. I ordered the chicken Florentine. I also ordered the bean soup which had a middle eastern flair . Very good. The Pinot Noir was also good. The chicken Florentine was too thick and the pasta was well over 1/2 my plate which, in my opinion, is way too much. You just shouldn't eat that much as a side dish. So the cream sauce wasn't enough for the amount of pasta I got. I boxed up my meal and only took 1/2 of the pasta and asked for extra sauce. Vivian the waitress brought me a container that I thought was way too much for the noodles I packed up but she said that's the only size they offer and charged me $4.50 . Ridiculous! I feel the chicken should have been smaller too. Mine looked a 10oz piece of thick chicken and inch thick. My advise is have a smaller portions available. Maybe part of their clientele like these huge portions but believe me a lot of us don't. read more

What a wonderful family-style restaurant! We had seen the restaurant many times, but had not stopped until this time. Our meal was so good that we ordered extra food to take home with us. Especially the meatballs in their homemade marinara sauce. Christina, our waitress, took wonderful care of us. She was so kind and helpful as we ordered the food that we ate there, and ordered the food that we were taking with us. The other staff members were so friendly and kind to us as well. A special point of safety was that we were able to enter the restaurant parking lot and leave on a side street, which gave us safety and convenience. We are already planning our next trip to Mount Dora to eat there again. I'll bet we take some friends with us! read more

I decided to try a different pizza place rather than my go to tonight. I'm sorry to say I regret having done that. I ordered the 10" thin crust pepperoni pizza and the cheese garlic knots with garlic oil. I felt both were overcooked, as you can see from the photos. The pizza wasn't anything to write home about. And, the garlic knots didn't have any garlic oil, I'm thinking that it dried up with the rolls being so overcooked. I was looking to try something new, and was excited about trying PizzAmore because they have a lot of good reviews. Unfortunately, I found them to be just average. read more

I just had a flat bread pizza from a damn golf course a few miles away that made this look pathetic. This is a horrible way to provide one a good product and two making the customer happy. The meat lovers pizza was pretty good, but not spectacular. The meatball appetizer was bland, not fresh & overpriced. Great beer selection! The salads going by looked good, but we didn't order one. As suggested, a friend and I went for pizza. We parked more in the hub of the shops and walked here. That was a walk we didn't expect. The beer selection was diverse and the beer can pyramid was fun. My favorite part was the bruschetta knots. Get them. Maybe even two orders, I wish I had. The pizza was too much crust. The 10" was split between the two of us and there was a good 2-2.5 inches of bubbled crust. I like my pizza to be more pizza and less throw away as I don't eat the crust if my pizza. PizzAmore is a classic American Italian eatery. Pizza, chicken parm, meatball subs, garlic knots, and more. We ordered a small size of the Amalfi pizza which had broccoli, onions, mozz and garlic. It was a good personal size, crispy crust and generous toppings. We also ordered the Chicken Parm which came with spaghetti with tomatoes and olive oil. For an extra $1 you can get marinara for the pasta. I did upgrade for that and while it was good it was typical acidic generic tasting marinara. The chicken was cooked well and covered In cheese. The pasta is served with two huge garlic knots. The flavor of the fresh garlic on top was ok, it still had that raw chopped garlic taste. I also could have done with one knot and been just as full. Overall it was a good visit and we will try it again to explore the menu more. The atmosphere is in a cute older house and fits in with the Mount Dora vibe well. read more

The server who brought our pizza out front was very friendly and I didn't wait at all. The restaurant is very nice inside, being in a converted downtown house. We have tried many other pizza places but this is our go to spot, especially if we have friends or family in town. We have eaten inside several times and do takeout more often. We always get pizza and have had garlic knots on occasion. It is not a New York style pizza, but it has a handmade look / taste for sure. Our favorite is the Greek Goddess. Additionally, if you are gluten free, they make probably the best cauliflower crust I've ever had. I almost prefer it sometimes. It is a great little spot very close to downtown Mount Dora proper. It's ok as a dine-in pizza restaurant, although it's not my favorite pizza in town. It's a cute little restaurant, which has been converted from an old house and we've usually ended up sitting in what would have been the front patio. It's not a big place, so it can get full and feels little cramped. The service is usually pretty friendly, but occasionally forgetful. The pizza though is just OK. I find it to be overcooked usually, and the dough is pretty average and dries out very quickly - and there's not much flavor to the crust. I find it reminiscent of Pizza Hut dough, with less cheese, and more sparse toppings. The toppings are usually pretty good and I enjoy the broccoli and other less traditional items. The garlic knots have never been that great to me either, same overcooked dried out dough. It probably varies by cook? But overall I think it's pretty average to below-average pizza. The salads are always fresh and crisp though, and I enjoy the large Caesar salad to share with the entire table. They have a great beer selection here that regularly updates and includes a wide variety of styles, even a few sour beers. It's probably one of the better beer menus in the area, and they were really the first place selling craft beer in Mount Dora. read more

I came here on a Wednesday night with my family that was visiting and because I really like the pizza here I thought this was gonna be a good experience. Sadly, it was completely the opposite. We were a group of seven and they didn't have availability at the moment. We then asked if our group could be split and they told us that they don't do that even if there were going to be different checks (that didn't make sense to me at all). Why can't you split a group into different tables if they're going to be different checks? It is like different customers entering your place, they don't sit together. We then agreed to wait but were then asked to wait outside (and it was visible raining). They didn't give us a reason they just asked us to wait outside even with the rain. The waitress was apologizing to me all the time and telling that she didn't understand why her manager was being like that. It is really sad that a nice place like this can be ruined because of a mediocre manager. Btw, we never saw her because she never even talked to us, she was only giving directions to the waitress but if anyone that can help this place improve is reading, this happened on January 4, 2023 around 7pm. read more
