What you see here is the 2X2X2 breakfast with 2 eggs over hard, 2 strips of bacon and 2 slices of French toast

I was visiting my sister and brother in law and we decided to get some breakfast. They mentioned Brown Stone House and I was famished so I said of course as a First Timer would. The service is great and you seat yourselves. Our waitress was quick and attentive. If I had to wait 45 mins to an hour, I would definitely do that. I got the 2X2X2 breakfast with two eggs over hard, two strips of bacon and two slices of French toast. Everything was cooked well and I will point out two things; the eggs were cooked the way I ordered them and that says a lot. Next, you can kind of see the French toast size width wise. It's not too thin or too thick and not dry either...very tasty! They don't have dairy alternatives like oat or almond milk, so get some hot tea like myself or drink some coffee at home prior to eating at this awesome establishment!!

I already ate the other half of the wrap lol. I was too hungry to stop and take a picture.

Cool little dinner. Clean, friendly, and fast. The chicken cordon bleu wrap was good, the chicken had some seasoning which I liked, the chicken was grilled and not breaded or deep fried, but it was a healthier alternative, and it was hot off the grill.

Brown Stone is...ok. There is a lot of hype since the location has been within the community for so long. Don't get me wrong, that's great! They definitely have their normals and generations of customers who come here, and it is hard to find a restaurant with such staying power over the years...especially post-recession. With that being said the food quality is nothing special. There are plenty of diners in Connecticut that offer something special here and there that make Brown Stone seem a little plain. I will say that, given BSH's generous portion sizes, you will get the best bargain for your buck. Ambiance: 3 Food: 4 Service: 3 Overall: 3.3

Finally, breakfast at the world famous Brownstone House Restaurant!

Very simply put great breakfast dishes served with a piping hot and a smile that's always ready to refill the coffee or tea mugs. My daughter attended QU for 4 years & I always said we've got to have breakfast at the classic Brown Stone House Restaurant. Finally 1.5 years following her graduation we made it AND no disappointment in sight.

Well I finally stopped in, after riding by fir aoo many years. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. The place could use a good sprucing up inside and out. Ample parking out back.

The owner is absolutely incredible -- talented, dedicated, and genuinely one of the most hardworking people in this industry. She opened her café during COVID at a young age and built it from the ground up through pure passion, grit, and love for her community. That alone deserves recognition. The selection is always thoughtful and creative, and the specials are phenomenal. She makes all her syrups by hand and sources gluten-free items in-house, which takes so much time and intention but shows how deeply she cares about quality and inclusivity. You can taste the effort in every single drink. Crossroads is a place built on heart, and the coffee community is extremely proud of her. She does not get enough credit for everything she's accomplished and everything she continues to pour into her space. If you want to support a café run by a genuine human being who truly loves what she does, this is the place. Highly recommended -- not just for the coffee, but for the person behind it.

Friendly service at the counter, few tables inside to lounge at. My wife and I frequent the Last Drop in Monroe and this is ultra comparable. Very good pricing and kudos to them for using and making homemade syrups! I am a matcha guy so I get an iced matcha latte with vanilla cream cold brew. My wife has had the special Cherry Cold Brew which sells out quick and some lattes with cinnamon brown sugar, fantastic. I vow to get there early enough one of these days to try their blueberry muffins, always sells out quick. They have a host of other pastries as well, you are missing out if you don't try this place.

Most of their baked goods were sold out, which totally made sense because it was nearly closing time and the items that remained looked delicious. So we were sure that whatever had been sold before was more of the same. I ordered a hot latte and the kiddo ordered a raspberry tea. We also decided to order toasted sandwiches (grilled vegetables for me and grilled cheese for her) to enjoy in the shop. Enjoy we did! The latte was served with a foam smiley face. The espresso was strong and delicious and tempered nicely by the milk. Her tea was piping hot and fruity. The sandwiches were toasted but not blazing hot, for which we were thankful because we were very hungry. They also weren't greasy - an issue I have with other toasted sandwiches. As a side note - why do sandwich shops slather sandwiches in oil or butter when a simple iron sandwich press and a hot grill will suffice? Anyway, our sandwiches were great! They were filling but didn't leave us feeling lethargic (please refer back to the not greasy comment.) We were so happy to have a good meal and a seat after a long tour around the Quinnipiac campus. Bussing one's table is expected and the staff kept the tables spic and span in between patrons. Speaking of the staff, the young man who took our order and was servicing the dining area was kind and patient as we ordered. We made sure to leave fifteen minutes before closing because we didn't want to be THOSE people, namely the couple in the corner who'd setup their computer shop and looked to have no intention of leaving without a fight. We will definitely return to Bread & Chocolate if we find ourselves in the area again.

This place was extremely disappointing…read more I've had their bread at local restaurants and always thought it was excellent, which is what motivated me to visit in person. Over the past few months, I tried stopping by three separate times, twice they were already closed, and once they had completely sold out of bread. I finally made it there on a Sunday morning, and they had only one loaf left, and not a type I wanted. We decided to order two egg and cheese sandwiches (one with turkey bacon). Both were terrible. The rolls were soft, soggy, wet, and flavorless. Each sandwich had a single egg placed off-center, so half the roll barely had any egg at all. The turkey bacon was so bad we removed it and threw it out. Normally, I would have just moved on and not returned. But what really pushed me to write this review (which I never write) was the carrot cake we purchased. We took it home, refrigerated it, and tried it later that evening. It was, without question, the worst piece of carrot cake I've ever had. The frosting was hard, dry, stale, and completely lacking flavor, no sweetness at all. The cake itself was equally bad: dry, crumbly, and utterly tasteless. There was no hint of carrot, cinnamon, nutmeg, or any spice, just bland, dry crumbs. The cake was completely lacking sugar. After two bites, we threw it in the garbage. I don't say this lightly. I've been cooking and baking for decades, hold a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, and spent over 20 years in the industry. I've traveled extensively and eaten outstanding food around the world. For me, someone who genuinely loves desserts, to throw cake away (which is rare) says everything. I understand it was a Sunday and that fresh baking may not be happening that day, but it's simply not acceptable to sell baked goods from prior days that are clearly stale. Even more concerning than the staleness however, was the complete lack of flavor in the product. The sandwiches were disappointing, but that cake was on another level. I won't be returning for sandwiches or desserts, but perhaps the bread.

So thankful it was in the quiet and quaint neighborhood of New Haven. Such a beautiful area. Very close to all the spots I had bookmarked. Cool coffee shop I gotta say. Spacious and clean. Just the actual vibe alone was relaxing. This is one of those locations where you can actually come sit and not be bothered. Few people inside were working on their laptops, some were just conversing with their friends. The barista was super friendly and worked fast. We tried to get in yesterday but it was super crowded and we didn't want to wait amongst a lot of people (too much sickness going around). However, I wish we had gone, because our breakfast wasn't anywhere as good as today. I started with a Carmel latte which was really good. I had the croissant French toast which was utterly amazing! I have to say that I am NOT a breakfast person. I'm not a fan of eggs, but I will eat them and I hate to start the day with a sugar bomb! However, the croissant French toast was a true delight. It came topped with fresh, not frozen sugary stuff, beautiful juicy strawberries, a nice light whipped cream, and a not so sugary chocolate sauce on the side. It did have a lot of whipped cream so I loved that to the side. It was served with syrup but I didn't use any. The flavor of the croissant with the strawberries was enough for me. I barely dipped it in the chocolate. It was delectable! I've also had their Irish Benny on another trip which was amazing and the pumpkin pancakes. There is NO other breakfast place where I cannot make a decision because there are so many delicious items to choose from. And, I know that anything I choose is going to be utterly amazing. Their portions are big and their prices are very fair for what your get. I felt like I had a whole pint of strawberries on my croissant. My husband had the meat lovers omelet with oatmeal. He said everything was perfect. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. This is a typical breakfast place. It's not fancy but friendly and clean. And everyone seems happy! The kind of place I like. You have to get here early or you'll have a wait. I say the wait is well worth it. We went at 8:30 on a holiday and were able to be seated immediately. That's the first time that's happened though. I want to try their lunch, but their breakfast is so amazing, I would probably order breakfast for lunch which is something I NEVER do! If we had this place near us (we're from Philly), it would be the death of me! I'd be going all the time.
