The menu and prices were reasonable for New Haven, not cheap and not too expensive. I really like the inside of the cafe, it had a good ambiance to it. The coffee was good, not too sweet. The service was okay, the waitress was confused and almost brought me the wrong order and it did take a bit for me to get my food. The food was good, as you would expect the egg benny to taste. The miss, here is that I came here explicitly for the WiFi to participate in a quick meeting on the fly. WiFi wasn't working with the code provided at the register. I stopped by for lunch and it gets BUSY. Food came out in ~15 minutes. You can place your order at the cashier and they'll bring the food to you. Free wifi and outlets available for studying (bring headphones as it can get super loud). For parking, there is a small lot in the front (unsure how much they charge/hr) or you can park on the street. Spicy Guacamole Burger (specials menu) - This sandwich is HUGE. It came on the house-baked pretzel roll which was soft and fluffy. The patty itself was a bit dry but not bad. My only complaint was that there was no spice to it at all...I was expecting a small kick to the burger but it tasted just like a regular burger. It came with french fries which I have to say were suprisingly super good! I would be back just to order a side of fries Lime Cilantro Chicken Wrap ($15) - I personally don't like cilantro so I ordered this without cilantro. A busy cafe right off the shops at Yale. A very lively place that can get quite loud for a cafe, but if you're able to tune out the noise it does have a great ambiance. Always love a place that serves drinks out of large mugs. Was visiting Yale's campus for the first time and came across this cafe. Unfortunately just not a good experience with the person who took my order and served my coffee. I was hoping she'd be at least a little bit friendly but she was not, and this left me disappointed. Had a coffee lid with blue marker on it right near the mouthpiece of the lid to label my milk that then melted, and almost went directly into my drink, and she didn't really care so much as to help when I returned back to the cafe. Cute place. Nice menu. Loved my turkey and avocado sandwich on their crispy roll. Very tasty. It's like they squeezed lime on the avocado. Had such a nice flavor. Bread delicious. Massive sandwich. Prob should put on a smaller plate as it looks like it's missing something (Note first picture). Would be nice to get a few chips with it on the plate. Bags of Chips are at the counter if you want them for extra. Sort of a long line at lunchtime so the girl at the counter wasn't super friendly. You order there then go sit. MOST disrespectful job interview I have ever had in my life. I would not recommend no one either be a customer or an employee here: First, the blondy register girl working at the counter just straight up PRETENDED not to understand me because I have an accent from another country. As you walk in, the place is super spacious, well lit, and has a lot of seating (tables and stools). I love the ambiance and aesthetic of the place! A lot of the reviews on here are bad because of the wait time, however in my instance, I only waited 10 minutes to order and 10 minutes for my food and latte. And I happened to have came in on a Sunday morning. You first line up to order and then grab a table. The service was good as well! For food and drinks, I got a vanilla latte and the loaded avocado. The latte was super good! Great body, good layer of foam, and just the right amount of sweetness. The loaded avocado was equally as tasty. Came here 2x for breakfast. Amazing dark roast full-bodied cappuccino, not the bland like most coffee shops in the US where they serve light-bodied tea-like coffee. It tastes very European! I've come to this cafe on multiple occasions but stick to my order of the loaded avocado - it is amazing and so flavorful. I also add grilled chicken for added protein - seasoned well. Their juices are also squeezed fresh right in front of you, but if you are not in the mood for fruit, I would recommend their frozen chocolate frosty smoothie if you have a sweet tooth. Their Belgian waffles are also very tasty and loaded with good toppings. Just be warned there more than likely will be a wait - it is located in between Yale campus and around other Universities so it is often full of college students. When I walked in the line was out the door which gave me hype hopes for the food and coffee. However, the wait to simply order was a bit insane. I think it is just a short staff problem because the cashier also has to run around and put together orders and coffee. However, the staff were super friendly and apologetic about the wait. The regular drip coffee was really good - probably the best I've had in new haven. I also got the salmon crispy roll and I was a bit disappointed with that. The roll wasn't crispy or toasted (not sure why they call it that). Also it is so stacked up with salmon and eggs that one bite and everything falls apart. This place is so unbelievably cute that I was so disappointed by the lack of servicing here... Looking at the reviews, it seems like that is a common complaint... It took them 15 minutes to make my friends Chai Latte and 20-25 minutes for them to get me my Vermonter Belgian waffle. It would totally be fine if it was just slow/understaffed, but the cafe was not very busy and we watched at least THREE tables get their food and drinks before we did even though we ordered before them. There were also plenty of workers but they were literally standing around, not doing much. When my friend asked why her latte was takin 15 minutes (in a very nice manner too), the barista very annoyedly said "yours is next" even as we watched them serve lattes to people who came later. I am usually very accepting and understanding of most service issues, and rarely complain because I know that industry is hard, but there was not an apology or explanation or anything. This was just a bit much. The food was yummy though, and I enjoyed everything I got. The mushroom omelette was apparently very good. The chai latte was comforting, though it was incredibly foamy. The Vermonter is a good balance of sweet and savory, and the egg was perfectly runny. The interior is also so cute and I can see this as a wonderful place to work. Could overlook the service if I was posted up in the Cafe doing work and had all of the time in the world. Not the best place to go to if you are in the slightest bit of hurry. Located right across the street from the broadway parking lot makes this restaurant an easy choice when shopping at LLBean or the Shops at Yale. Nice menu for breakfast and lunch with vegan choices, smoothies and salads. I ordered a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice that was cold and sweet plus a turkey deli sandwich. The place was pretty empty when my daughter & I stopped in to wait for an iPhone repair across the street. The store was very clean. The barista at the register pleasant and our two drinks an iced chai and an iced tea were great. I had a lemon bar as well but unfortunately it tasted old. Their coffee is okay - their espresso is a little too acidic for my taste. Their food is great! Lots of options, vegan options as well I have never had their smoothies but I know they're incredibly popular. I am docking a star for two reasons: - One, they seem to be chronically under staffed. When they are busy, especially weekend brunch times, there can be a long line, 10-15 parties deep that will take about 30 minutes to go through. Also some of the staff are a bit curt and rude. - Two, their prices are a bit on the higher end for me for what I'm getting. I came in with three others on an early Sunday afternoon and can honestly say it was probably the worst restaurant experience I've had in New Haven. We ordered waffles and were told that it would be a 30-40 minute wait -- seemed long, but we agreed. After waiting for about 70 minutes, we were wondering if they might have forgotten our order. They eventually brought out our food and kind of slammed it on the table without apologizing for the super long wait. The food was pretty good, but it took so long that it wasn't worth it at all. Aside from the long wait, the employees were really rude and not at all accommodating. I asked for an extra side of gravy twice and never got it even though the person I asked was standing behind the counter doing nothing. I don't love writing negative reviews, but this was a genuinely bad experience and I would highly recommend finding another brunch/lunch place in New Haven (because there are a ton of better options close by). read more

I would definitely return. The two times that we chose to eat here all of the items we picked from the menu were delicious. All of the ingredients were fresh and organic. Would definitely add this to my list of favorite spots in New Haven. The salmon wrap came together perfectly with all of the perfect ingredients, and the next day I chose the fruit waffle which was prepared perfectly.
