Weather not good but we were out so I called from the car. Fortunately, they had room for us at 5. Happy hour is until 6. The 19th Hole is such a good drink - vodka, fruit juices, lemon lime soda. Also had the Fowler's Punch (or Rum). Coconut Rum, fruit juices.... so good! Had the Seafood Risotto again. Need to go here more often! Surf and Turf comes with asparagus - that was swapped for Mac n cheese. Delicious! Expect an owner to roam around and check on you. They actually ask if you need anything and really care about your answer. We truly feel welcome here. Great service. It is loud. Don't expect a quiet dinner. Plenty of TVs to keep an eye on sports but not too many. Just a really great, local place. Oh and they have a loyalty program. Check it out. Spend $350, get $25 off food. read more

My Husband and I decided to go to Brown Barn Tavern to celebrate our new marriage! I have got to say, Bill was absolutely wonderful and was kind enough to champagne toast us on our new marriage The atmosphere and staff were phenomenal. The food? absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be celebrating more anniversaries there! better make a reservation though, they're always jam packed! BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE!!! After receiving Zeppes raw food earlier in the evening, we tried a different tavern. (Thankfully I chose correctly this time) WONDERFUL STAFF DELICIOUS FOOD BEAUTIFUL VIEWS GOOD VIBES CUSTOMER SERVICE ON POINT I just want to thank everyone at Brown Barn for the great hospitality and delicious meal. We walked in and it was pretty busy. I requested outdoor seating (due to my anxiety) and they said a 20 minute wait. We took a buzzer and waited out front. In less than 12 minutes, we were seated out back on their lovely deck. As the sun was getting ready to set, we ordered our food, had a drink and watched the sky turn orange. The waitress was very friendly and patient with us. Brought me water with my alcoholic beverage, made sure our food was to our liking. We had a fantastic dinner Saturday night. The braised short ribs were spectacular and my husbands seafood fettuccini was equally as delicious. Our friends also ordered the two same specials and had the same review FOOD IS 5 STAR FANTASTIC. It was our 2nd time to dine at the Brown Barn and both times the service was also 5 star fantastic. The manager was gracious and attentive while visiting our table. Our waitress Emma was equally excellent in taking care of us. I would love to give this restaurant a 5 star rating but I feel to earn that, EVERYTHING needs to be 5 star. Acoustics are very loud so it was challenging to have conversation. Both times we have been to this restaurant we had to enter and exit through cigarette smokers at the front door entrance .....just not at all pleasant. It would be greatly appreciated if owners/management would manage this and provide a designated smoking area away from the front door. There is ample space to do so. Will we dine here again.....absolutely yes. We are hopeful that they will read this and relocate the smokers from the main entrance. (: read more

Fantastic food and service in any season. Great patio. Views are great, inside and out (Alpine Valley Ski Resort right next door). I give it a 4 only because it needs some soft surfaces like upholstered chairs for dining and at the bar, a cushy booth or seating area, maybe some soft thick drapes. Owners: can you consider adding? Excellent food and atmospher. If there was any negative issues it would be the noise level. Hard to have normal conversations, also parking can be a challenge. You must make reservations or you run a risk of not getting a table or have to hope for seats at the bar. Service has always been outstanding and prices are on par with the quality of this type of restaurant. read more

We had reservations and were still handed a buzzer. The wait was not long. I was obviously over-dressed. The music was loud and thumping, the noise level of patrons was quite loud. Our wait-person was lovely and attentive. Two hours after we returned home, stomach pains started, and I ended up in the bathroom all night. It was a horror. Brunch here never disappoints! From the moment you walk in the door, until you leave, the food, service and ambiance are exceptional. My chicken and waffles had the biggest piece of chicken. Our first time visiting BBT. Can't say how much of a positive experience we had, from being greeted with a smile at the hostess stand to the general manager Bill coming over and greeting us and then bringing complimentary glasses of sparkling wine to celebrate a birthday in our group. Or server Carli was very prompt and personal with a great smile and attitude. We were a party of 4 and enjoyed a couple of happy hour appetizers that were very tasty and a few happy hour cocktails too! Our meals were varied, from a barn burger, chicken fried chicken, stuffed salmon and beef brisket. All were enjoyed. I don't think you can go wrong choosing The Brown Barn. This place is one of my regulars. Everything on this menu is fantastic. From the bourbon mixed drinks, to the appetizers, to the steak, the brunch menu, and the burgers. I've tried almost everything on this menu. The Saturday special of the Braised Short Ribs is probably my favorite. The chief takes his time with these ribs and they come out succulent and meaty. The gravy is rich and fantastic. The Chicken Fried Chicken is my everyday favorite. A full chicken breast lightly breaded and fried golden brown over mashed potatoes. Soooo good. read more

I came to Brown Barn today with my three kids and really didn't expect we will be able to sit, cause I've heard the place is very busy. First we were greeted in a very pleasant way and we got a table outside with an amazing view. The service was absolutely outstanding, I would probably say the best service I've had in the past couple of years. Managers were coming out to make sure everything is good and they even made friends with my kids :) The food was very good, everything fresh and tasty. The food was great, the ribeye was perfectly cooked and great quality. The service is incredible. The workers are kind, fun, and overall just good people. A pleasant surprise on an impromptu date night before the drive-in movie. We sat on the back patio at sunset (bring your sunglasses!) and we had great service and the setting provided great ambiance. The food was outstanding as I had the special of day which was a lightly breaded thin pork tenderloin Milanese and it was superb. The manager came by to check on us and even came back and brought us a complimentary post-meal toast of their house sparkling wine. What a wonderful evening and we WILL BE BACK! read more

Had Easter Brunch at the Brown Barn. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had early afternoon reservations and were seated on-time. The place was full and they were prepared for the Easter crowd. It was their brunch menu. There were choices for everyone. It was not a buffet. The staff was friendly and attentive. I swear my sandwich would have been made with half the wrong things if I wasn't guiding her. Fortunately, my sandwich ended up being super yummy! I felt like this combination of ingredients made the perfect sandwich for me. However, I think 10 bucks for a small-ish sandwich is way too pricey. They also nickel and dime you for each thing you want to substitute or add. Also, while I find the cosmic sauce very tasty, I didn't want my sandwich to be drenched in it!!

When we stopped in it looked like the same store I've known and loved over the years and I ordered my two favorites- the Original and the Crazy (the best IMO) We took them to go and I could barely wait to dig in. The first thing I noticed as I unwrapped the Original was there was no pickle- I thought it may have fallen out but after unwrapping both and checking the bag and floor I realized they didn't add them. Was this an oversight or has management 86ed the pickles!? That was a small disappointment for sure. The sandwiches also looked a bit smaller than I remember, and I have a lot of pictures over the years to compare them to- I chalked it up to inflation, a lot of things are getting smaller as they rise in price. Then I bit into it and the crispy bread was just not it. The bread was still good, but not cooked enough. Usually pieces of it flake off as you eat and you get the crispy outside with the fluffy, fresh inside. The juxtaposition of texture is part of what makes these sandwiches my favorite. It was soft bread with the amazing sauce, lettuce, tomato meats and banana peppers on the Original- still tasty but not what I've come to expect over the 25 years I've been eating these subs. The staff was friendly and they have the indoor and outdoor seating still, but they might want to do some quality control on the sandwiches they're sending out to customers. I wish I had time during my visit to stop by the Chagrin Falls location to compare and see if it's franchise wide or just this location. To the business, I hope the undercooked bread and lack of pickles was just an off moment. Please keep the original amazing quality going. To people looking to try Dave's, it's still so delicious and I recommend buying sauce to use at home. I got three bottles to bring back to California and I'll be using it on everything.

Unripe avocados, hard bread, large clumps of really cold cheese, some kind of sweet peppers that clash with the Dave's cosmic sauce, and tiny bags of chips. I think I'm done with this place after my last three visits. Not the same as it was years ago. Staff is friendly but food isn't worth the increased price.

The seating is somewhat limited so if you're coming when it's busy or you have a lot of people, that might be difficult. It's a cool vibe with a lot of fun decor. There's even a guitar in the women's bathroom. And I appreciate that the water in the bathroom actually gets warm when you're washing your hands. Definitely a solid choice for subs.
