Blueberry sweet cream kolache

What a neighborhood gem!! Excellent coffee and the kolache are just like my mother makes. They have fresh fruit filled as well as meat fillings for breakfast. If you're in the area plan to stop here. It is fantastic and so are the staff.

Cherry cheese pastry, orange roll and a delicious drip coffee served piping hot with oat milk.

Cold rainy day and what could be more welcoming than a delicious coffee with oat milk at the charming Brooklyn Kolache. I also tried the cherry cheese pastry which reminded me of one I had visiting relatives in Slovakia. The pastry was chewy/bready, the cherries tart and the cheese creamy in all the best proportions The orange twist roll also didn't disappoint. Serves hot at your request this cutie packs an unexpected punch. Biting into it your face is bathed in a warm orange scented steam cloud due to the orange zest glaze that really doesn't look like it can pack that much sweet zestiness into each bite. Inside seating is limited to 3 counter seats and today a groovy hipster was giving a tarot reading to a young woman who was lamenting why can't she just date men AND women. I say any man or woman she brings here will be weak in the knees at the first bite of pastry. Outside is a small patio open to the street but defined by ironwork with a black and white floor making the space much more cozy than most sidewalk offerings. I can't wait to come back to try the spiced maple latte. Or the cardamom matcha. Or the lavender latte.

This has been a safe haven for me since I moved to the neighborhood awhile back this past year. Wonderful artisanal coffee (café artesanal) and vegan options if that is your personal dietary subscription. Lovely community [leave a book-take a book] library by their back-of-the-shop garden seating in the cafe. Thanks for being a sanctuary in the community

Vegan biscuit with strawberry butter

I had wanted to visit this place for a long time. So many kolache options including a vegan biscuit with a few different vegan butter spreads (strawberry and chive). They also have a lot of seasonal flavored drinks that looked delicious. They have seating in front that is open air, indoors in the back, as well as a back patio.

First time trying kolache! Stopped in the evening near close and it was a nice place to chat over a warm beverage and a snack! I tried the sausage and cheese and thought it was quite good. Reminded me a lot of Chinese bread with its yeast. The service here was really great, super nice man behind the counter, especially given that it was near closing time on a Friday! They are on too good to go as well if people are interested.

Jalapeño, egg and cheese bread with matcha latte

I've been in this neighborhood for 5 years, but accidentally went there for the first time last week. I had matcha latte and jalapeño, egg and cheese bread once and now I miss them every day. I'm looking forward to coming back again

Blueberry Sweet Cheese Kolache, Kielbasa , jalapeno and cheese kolache, and ube latte
Sarah M.

First off, petitioning for a Queens location! Brooklyn Kolache is in Brooklyn and now Manhattan so obviously next up is Queens right...right?? Fingers crossed! After moving to NYC from ATX, I have missed my kolache fix and BK surely filled that pastry sized hole in my heart. Whenever I am here or convince a friend who lives by to pickup an order for me, I stock up. My absolute favorite is the sausage jalapeño cheese kolache so I get 2-3 of those. I also try various other savory kolaches including their egg & cheese varities. They have vegetarian options as well. As for the sweet kolaches, I always get the blueberry as well as the lemon and try others like the cherry. I just spotted s'mores on their menu so now I need to try that one because I love s'mores. It's not often that I am able to try their coffee drinks but most recently I finally was able to try their ube latte which I ordered hot. I love anything ube and this latte hit the spot. I'd like to try it iced next time. So to sum up, come to Queens, Brooklyn Kolache!!!

Apple kolache Salted Caramel Latte ICed

Came here to work on the patio when the weather was nice and got everything I needed! Apple kolache was super soft, fluffy, sweet. Salted Caramel Latte was a great but the Flavor wasn't too noticeable. I may need to have just stirred a little more lol.

This is a real cozy place to eat something wholesome and enjoy the atmosphere. There's free wifi and you can sit in front of the entrance, inside the main area and the back. There's also a garden area out back as well! After 5 pm it's Bogo for the Kolaches. The staff is friendly and kind.

Menu - lots already sold out by 11am!

I had never heard of kolaches before, but stumbled upon this place. I recommend coming early - came on the weekend around 11am and they were already sold out of half the menu! There wasn't a line at all when we came and we were able to sit with our dog at one of the outdoor tables in the front. The dough reminds me of the Chinese sweet buns - so doughy and the perfect amount of sweetness. My only tiny thing is that I wish the toppings / fillings for some of them were more evenly dispersed. But all in all, everything was great and I'll definitely come back. I wanted to try as much as possible so I ordered the below: -Cherry Sweet Cheese: yum. I wish the cheese was a bit more evenly dispersed, but this was great. -Blueberry Sweet Cheese: delicious. If I had to pick between the two fruits, this was my favorite. -Everything: yum. I just wish there was more cream cheese. It was just a tiny amount off to one side. -Sausage and Cheese: yum. This was my favorite savory one. I just wish there was more cheese. -Mushroom and Goat Cheese: very good, but I wish the toppings were inside because there's only a tiny amount of mushrooms on top. I probably wouldn't order again because of this. -Sweet Cheese: good, but with all the other delicious toppings to choose from I wouldn't order this again. -Sausage Jalapeño and Cheese: good! But

1 star off for the service. the guy was rolling his eyes at us and looked angry. i assume he had a bad day, but it scared me : ( The Kolache we got was cherry, quite yummy & chewy, though a bit small (pictures are deceiving!)

Kolache x 3 - get the Texas beef sausage!!
Gab G.

COVID report: Limited outdoor seating (no heaters) and no indoor seating as of November 2021. Awesome coffee shop where the main draw is kolache (delicious puffy dough pastries). My boyfriend and I tried: + Spinach and feta kolache + Ham and cheese kolache + Texas beef sausage kolache + Ube latte The latte was awesome, and my favorite kolache was the Texas beef sausage one. Definitely will be back!

Front: Kielbasa , jalapeno and cheese kolache Back: Mushroom and goat cheese kolache
Jenny C.

Amazing kolaches! I had the cheddar sausage jalapeño and it definitely hit the spot in the morning. My other party got the spinach and feta and a mushroom and goat cheese for the vegetarians and she said it's the "best". They have a really beautiful backyard in the back and I can see my summers being here with a matcha macadamia milk latte. They also have ube if you like that!!!

There is some counter space, but mainly for standing purposes. I ordered a standard Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk ($7.35) and my friend got her usual Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8). Docking 1/2 point bc the matcha is pre-made. I'm a fan of the whisking process bc I do believe there's a craft to matcha overall. Surprisingly, my drink tasted fine and my bev was a good color, so I was pleasantly happy. We waited less than 10 min for a table to open up, but you have to be there at the right time, otherwise you prob just grab your drink + go. Overall, glad I tried Kijitora. It's not my first matcha choice, but it was decent for a standard matcha latte. Their specialty matcha drinks look to have mixed reviews, but I'm personally not a fan of sweet drinks.

The tote bags were so cute but they were kind of pricey in my opinion. A standard beige Kijitora bag was priced for $30 each! They had several designs for sale. I was just busy checking out the cool cat merchandise while I was waiting in the long line to purchase the matcha drinks. The line was exceptionally long! It was worth the hype though! When I was my turn, I got an iced strawberry matcha latte and an iced mango matcha latte. It was so pretty when I got them. The mango and strawberry paste were sitting at the bottom of the matcha latte. I had to stir and mix the fruits with the whole drink. Surprisingly it was not sweet at all and was just right! They made it in a way that wanted you to crave more of it. It was very addicting. I did not get onigiris this time but will be sure to get some next time I'm here. They were just $4 each for miso salmon, tuna mayo, mentaiko cod roe, sukiyaki beef, and chashu pork. What a decent price for one onigiri! I would definitely be sure to get the miso salmon next time I'm here. The place was very cute with nice little tables for individuals. The place was very cozy with lots of sunlight coming in. Very modern with plants all around. It was so loud with people talking over each other. There were too many people on a Sunday afternoon so I had to walk around or cut through people to get my way. It was that crowded. I also didn't expect this place to be on the second floor and the stairs to be that steep. It was hectic carrying my stroller upstairs. Luckily someone helped me get down! The stairs are very narrow so I had to hold onto the rail. It was not ergonomically friendly at all.

This is a really cute café that has gorgeous leather furniture, lighting fixtures, and cool plants everywhere, very modern looking. The music they play here is great too. I was a little disappointed to see that their food menu was quite limited, and by that time of day, there was really only one savory option that stood out to me, the Parmesan and leek pastry. I ordered this and had the barista heated up for me, as well as print out a receipt because this is how you access the Wi-Fi. I sat in the corner along the wall on a wooden bench and attempted to do work on one of the small metal tables. The tables are quite low, so this really isn't a great place to get a ton of work done in my opinion, as well as the fact that the Wi-Fi only works for 30 minutes and after that, you need to go back up and get another receipt for a code. I was also a little disappointed in the pastry itself, as it wasn't fully heated and was a little too greasy for me. I can't speak on the coffee here, but it did look like they provide high-quality options. Vibes and aesthetic are high but I can't say I'd come here again.

With a focus on community and comfort, we provide a haven for locals and visitors alike to relax, recharge' As my curiosity leads me to explore new coffee places, the one common thread I see is the focus on community. The cafes, coffee bars and eateries who recognize the need to connect are the real entrepreneurs. Polly's Cafe patrons are sipping coffee drinks made with La Colombe and devouring Balthazar pastries. As I waited to order my cold brew, the conversations ran the gamut from school, work, summer travel plans, catching up. I know I sound like a broken record, but today it is so much more than just grabbing a cup of coffee. It is unwinding, savoring each sip and bite with a friend or partner and just enjoying the connection. Polly's Cafe reminds me of a cafe one would find in the Hudson Valley: small, quaint and offering high end food. The interior is cozy, a few tables and a backyard garden. The menu packs a small punch: hot/cold beverages, breakfast burritos, BLT, salads and so much more. I waited around 10 minutes to order a cold brew, the pastries (croissants: chocolate, everything, goat cheese and herb, ham and cheese, butter, sticky toffee banana bread, chocolate babka crumb cake, brownies)were sold out and only olive oil cake remained. ( I arrived @2pm) I made a mental note to revisit to pack a few goodies to go for a future BBG visit. The Espresso Shot 1 was unexpectedly sour like the kind of sour you expect from expired coffee. There are special notes including rhubarb, so maybe that was on us to order this shot, but we didn't expect a beef jerky-like aftertaste. My friend could not finish it, so I asked for a replacement shot--the Expresso Shot 2--and the staff were kind enough to offer it to us free of charge. This shot was also just as sour, with notes of passion fruit. There are no other espresso shot options, and both shots are $5-6 each. The Chai Latte tasted just like the concentrates I would get from supermarkets. When I finished my cup and peered at the bottom for any spice residue, I found the grainy texture you'd find in said supermarket concentrates. Service: 4/5 The people were incredibly friendly and welcoming. For a busy coffee shop, they were prompt in fulfilling any special request, such as an expresso shot replacement. We were fortunate to even have seating, though, because there was a line out the door and not enough tables for all patrons. The tables were low to the ground and close to other tables. I would recommend this place to people who need a quick shelter from the cold. I wouldn't recommend the drinks to anyone, and the line is not worth it.
