The tres leche one was the only one that has a moist bottom that was different than the others. The other cupcakes were basic; they were simple cupcakes with frosting, but they were still delicious. I would buy these cupcakes mostly for friends and as a gift rather than for myself. However, it was a good cupcake experience. The cupcakes are 2.75 each if you don't buy then in counts of 6. Absolutely blown away with how good the cupcakes are here. I am very difficult to impress with desserts. I ordered a few flavors, and they all were very well done. My favorite by far was the tres leches cupcake. The flan cupcake had flan on the inside with a slight nutty flavor and delicious. The chocolate raspberry was soft and perfectly baked. Cupcakes were very good. My wife and I liked them infinitely more then Two Red Hens bakery which are super hyped up. I still believe Mollys cupcakes are the best I have tried in NYC. The cupcakes aren't as expensive as Two Red Hens or Molly's cupcakes. One dozen cupcakes went for $30 which isn't bad. We tried so many flavors all of which were good if not great. I was told by an employee that Tres Leches is their most popular and best flavor. We thought that was very good. The rainbow cookie cupcake was the one I was most excited about. It was really tasty. All of the cheesecake variety cupcakes we tried were good as well. After three days we finally tried them all and didn't find a disappointed cupcake. My mother took me here because of my love towards inventive flavors, which they did not disappoint in. I'm pretty sure the owners are Spanish because some of the flavors were crafted after traditional Dominican sweets. My mom raves about their cupcake with the guava jelly and cheese frosting. What a great way to mix the savory and the sweet. I tried just about all of them (don't judge me!) the tres leches was so moist and light that I could have stuffed three down in no time. The coconut one was one of my favorites. I got my boyfriend the peanut butter and jelly cupcake and he was mad I didn't get him more than one. The coquito flavors were spot on. The red velvet was divine. The tiramisu was okay I wasn't thrilled, maybe a little more marscapone in the frosting would have done it justice. But overall this place is a win! AMAZING cupcakes! Despite the fact I'm not even a cupcake lover or sweets lover, these cupcakes are DEEELICIOUS and that says a lot. They have an interesting collection of flavors, such as, Guava, Flan, Tres Leche Dulce de Leche, French Toast and Coquito to name a few. These are in addition to flavors like Red Velvet, Peanut Butter and Vanilla. Although those cupcakes really good, my favorite was the Rainbow Cookie! YES you read that right, RAINBOW COOKIE! The Rainbow Cookie had the different colors on different layers, just like the real cookie, and it also had jam inside. It was absolutely one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. As for all of the cupcakes, in general, they are very soft, yet moist. Surprisingly, I really liked their red velvet too, as it wasn't very sweet. One gripe I have is just the customer service. On one of the occasions, there were 2 guys at the counter who weren't very helpful. In fact, they didn't seem interested in serving customers and just stared blankly as I ordered. The guy taking the cupcakes out of the showcase was slow and I could tell by his attitude he didn't really case if I bought a cupcake or not. It's quite disappointing since Brooklyn Cupcake really has a great inventory and nothing kills an establishment like horrific customer service. If there is one thing I dislike whenever I go to a store, restaurant or event is bad attitudes from people who work there. Like I said, it was only on one occasion. Hurray for Brooklyn Cupcake ! I recently transferred to work in Brooklyn and found out that this great establishment was only blocks away ! I had to try their unique flavors and see if they can compete with other legends such as Georgetown. Their cupcakes are carefully made and the team members seem like they have fun while baking/ working there. Its a small shop but it exudes with personality. I've tried their PB and J, Red Velvet, Guava con Queso but I realllllly like their Tres Leches cupcake. It's moist in the middle and oozes with deliciousness. Review of the CHOCOLATE FLANCOCHO = flan + caramel + chocolate cake I have really high expectations for cupcakes. So when my friends and I passed this on our way to Le Barricou, I had pretty low expectations but we decided to stop by anyway. This place was fairly busy on a Saturday afternoon with people leaving with dozens of cupcakes. A lady from the back came out and said that we were lucky to stumble into the place on a weekend because they have a few special items that are only available on the weekend: a regular flancocho, a chocolate flancocho, and a banana pudding. All of which she was eager to give us free samples. Having just come from a big brunch, I chose the chocolate flancocho and boy...did it not dissappoint! So...wtf is a CHOCOLATE FLANCOCHO? Its layers of thick, creamy custardy flan with layers of ridiculously delicious dulce de leche (a caramel made from condensed milk) with layers of moist chocolate cake that when eaten together in one bite is an amazing marriage of flavors and textures that I have never tasted before. My friend has been raving about this place for awhile. I wasn't sure how many I wanted but then I noticed the prices and its pretty cheap compared to other cupcake places, $2.50 for a single cupcake, $13.50 for half a dozen and $25 for a dozen. I decided to go with half a dozen, I only got to try the tres leches and oreo. They were both good the tres leches being my favorite. I found the icing a bit too sweet for my taste but the cupcakes themselves were moist, fresh and full of flavor.
