I was wandering around my neighborhood with my dog and walked by twice. After perusing their menu on DoorDash I decided i had to go in. Ambiance was casual and staff looked busy which is a good sign. I got the Latin pack and the highly-rated french toast flavor with all the toppings as suggested by the girl behind the counter. They were so moist and light and the first one did not last down the block. Literally all flavors were a hit and everything was so fresh. Had their cupcakes delivered twice and tried the following flavours. Guava - I love guava as a fruit and this was good. Vanilla Raspberry - good too, but most of them all are vanilla based and rely on the preserves for the differentiation. Red Velvet - good too. French Toast - This didn't taste like French Toast to me, so I find the name a bit misleading. They should just call it Cinnamon. Oreo Cheesecake - Surprisingly good and it wasn't too rich, but mind you I never eat the icing, so that could be part of the reason why this wasn't as decadent. Dulce de Leche - I also didn't eat the icing on this one and so it wasn't overly sweet. Coquito - I never had this Puerto Rican drink, but the flavour sounds like something that I would like, but this cupcake was my least favourite at of all the flavours. This isn't the easiest place to get to at less to where I am. With that said, I tried to buy as much as I can to have a taste of any special ones that stood out to me. I picked 5 for my keep and 4 as a present for a friend and kids. Each of their cupcakes were so moist that it stay the same the following day. My Personal preference is the weakness to a filled cupcake. Their guava, strawberry and cream cheese were 3 of my choices. Their fillings not being too overwhelmingly sweet and their icing perfectly compliment to its level. Most of their icing are cream cheese which I tastela sour but lightly sweet and creamy. The other 2 were ones without fillings: french toast and chocolate cupcakes. Very moist with its true flavors. $2.75 for each I can get them everyday if allowed without breaking my purse for all occasions. At 2pm on a Saturaday, there was no lines and only me in the store. That's gave me the opportunity to take my time in making my decision because there were so many different flavors. The girl behind the counter was really patient and nice about my diploma asking her about each cupcakes. At this visit with hubby's favorite peanut butter flavor, unfortunately they ran out of them. Have been going to Brooklyn cupcake for years so decided to preorder but was a little disappointed. I called Friday and asked if it was too late to place an order for Mother's Day. I was coming from Westchester so I wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time. Woman replied no not at all so I placed an order for mixture of two dozen cupcakes for Sunday pickup at 12pm. I arrived 90 mins past my pick up time and my order wasn't prepared so the woman needed 5 mins to put it together. Store was empty , it wasn't like they were busy but fine I get it , it's Mother's Day . A gentleman walked in, was being help by someone else and overheard they were sold out of dulce de leche. My initial thought- like crap that was one of the flavors I'd ordered. They did have dulce de leche but sadly they did run out of a flavor I'd requested. I voiced how this was unacceptable that 1. my order wasn't ready and 2. how can you just run out of a flavor I preordered for. . She gave me a vague excuse how it's Mother's Day and they had a lot of walk ins . Hence , this was the reason why I pre-ordered to avoid this dilemma. She basically didn't care and I had to choose another flavor. No point of preordering if they will run out of the flavors you requested. Other than that issue, cupcakes were good for the most part, some were a little dry. Some flavors tasted a little different like tres leches for example, very bland . These are some pretty great cupcakes. They might not be for everybody though - I'm not sure if it's intentional, but the ones we tried, Chocolate Cheesecake and Peanut Butter & Jelly, were both very cold, to the point that the frosting on top was really solid. $2.50 is a decent price for how heavy and satisfying these are. These are large enough that it's tough to get a bite from the top of the frosting to the bottom of the cupcake, but since the frosting is so dense, it doesn't get too messy. I would definitely recommend the PB&J, as you get a really rich, peanut buttery frosting, with even more moist peanut butter cake, and lastly a nice surprise of sweet jelly in the middle. The Chocolate Cheesecake was really good too, but it didn't have any filling inside, which automatically makes it an inferior choice. There are so many other great flavors too. I'm glad to see a ton of other locations popping up all over Brooklyn, so it will be easy for me to hit up any of a number of them to try the Tres Leches, French Toast, and other excellent choices. read more

This is my go to cupcake place. Every cupcake that I've tried from them has been an omg moment. My favorite is the Italian cookie cupcake. It is pure perfection. I try to bring a dozen as a gift for my friends birthday, just so they all can have these delicious cupcakes. They have a coquito cupcake, which is sooo good. The dulce de leche is even better! Chocolate Oreo, and cheesecake. It's so many flavors you can choose from that you won't be disappointed in any one you choose. The staff is always friendly and nice. Absolutely loved the tres leche and I will definitely be back to get a whole tray of them. The cake part of it was so moist because it actually had the tres leche part of it in the cake; it tasted so alike to the actual dessert. The Oreo cheesecake was very good too in that the frosting packed so much of the cheesecake flavor and it went well with the rest of the cupcake. I used to be a big fan of this place forbyears. Dating back to when they had a location on Kent ave. Visited their Atlas Park location a few times and this location. But times have changed and so has the cupcakes. I came in the other day, expecting the attentive conversive staff that I used to experience but this time was different. I came in and didnt see my favorite cupcake Tres Leches. I asked the young girl working and she said they had them but her tone kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I asked about 3 other flavors and was still met with the dismissive tone. Time to pay, no eye contact, no warmth nothing. To some that isnt a big deal but for me it is, especially when I have been telling all my friends and coworkers to buy from here for years. Anyway, they would always sprinkle cinnamon on my Tres Leches cupcakes but not this time, it wasnt even offered. Only thing I was offered was a bag to carry them out lol. I get to the vehicle and I start eating. I noticed the tast wasnt the same and in fact it was difficult to differentiate between the Coquito one and Tres Leches. The flavor wasnt there and the moist texture that I once loved didnt exist in these cup cakes. My wife also felt the same way. The PEANUT butter and Jelly one was as good as before so that was a plus but this experience has taught me tbat everything changes. Favorite food spots dont always remain your favorite spot with time, flavors, cooks, workers change, and that change can bring undesirable experiences, as was the case this time.
