Good regular spot for bagels. I liked that they have different choices so I decide to get the LEO (lox, eggs, onion and scallion cream cheese). Half of it was SO filling so you get your money's worth.

I think I found my new favorite NYC sandwich and it's OVERSTUFFED & AFFORDABLE. Friendly girl at the counter helped me choose from this huge menu Delicious bagels and sandwiches using real deal premium ingredients and stuffed to the brim. Get the Mott St special for sure. They have 2 locations in Brooklyn and one in Tribeca and I will be back for another one of the big boys The strawberry bagel on strawberry cream cheese was so delicious, a combo I've never had before somehow and all these years of bagel eating. Another must try item

    Overcooked egg with no bacon

Stopped here to take our breakfast- bacon egg and cheese on roll. First of all egg was super overcooked (ohhh) and it was not enough bacon, like they been cheap with bacon, and cheese it's like where is it?..You can barely see it. For $8 guys you can do better. Big disappointment happened at our breakfast :( P.S bread was really good, but everything else bad

Lucky Luciano, rev and peanut butter jelly bagel

Brooklyn Bread Cafe knows how to make a sandwich! I had the Lucky Luciano (because prosciutto makes everything better), The Rev (a spicy chicken cutlet situation that I'm still thinking about), and a peanut butter & jelly because sometimes you just need the classics. Everything was fresh, the portions were huge, and I left both full and extremely happy. I'll definitely be back soon--probably hungrier and with even less self-control.

This cafe had a very nice cozy feel to it. It has such an extensive menu. They had so many items. The staff's attentive service really adds to the charm of the place. We came here mainly for bagels and despite the variety, the bagels were lacking a bit, especially compared to the other local spots specializing in bagels. The do make up for that by providing some very creative style sandwiches. Price was pretty much normal for around the area. I would def come check them out in the summer when their outdoor seating is opened.

I got the BUSHWHICK egg sandwhich, on a whole wheat wrap.

The egg sandwiches are the best. I don't know how they make their eggs not only look so pretty but taste so good - never over cooked, never bland, always fire! My favorite breakfast spot when I have a little extra money to spend. it's totally worth it. They have yummy baked goods too. If you like your chocolate muffin, theirs is really good.

Decent sandwich shop with acceptable prices and a variety of discounts available through their app or via GrubHub. If you want an Italian hero or a chicken parm, Brooklyn Bread can make it happen. I've tried getting breakfast delivered a couple of times, but my drivers got lost and the food took forever to arrive so these days I usually pick up my order in person. Yesterday I had a Gabagool sandwich for lunch; delicious, and very filling.

Stay away from this place! They rob and cheat you! On two different occasions, we bought the lox. On both occasions we were shorted on the order. First time, I ordered a half a pound, when I got home it looked very light. After weighing it , the fish came in at less than a quarter pound. After several phone calls, I was able to get them to deliver the other half of my order. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of buying again today. We bought a pound, which was around $38. When we got home, it was weighed, and to no surprise it was well short of a pound. We will not be going back until they stop their shady practices. My advice would be to double check all your orders. I will also be putting all my neighbors on notice about this place. Ripping off customers is never cool and we will not accept this in the neighborhood

This place seriously needs a make over. It's a bit stuck in the 90s and rather drab

What kind of bagel is this??? Weird. It's bread in a round shape. For bread it is fine, but I wanted a real NY bagel.I feel duped.

We come to sit, talk, share stories, our personal experiences and of course sip a fabulous beverage. I'm seeing this more and more as I visit fabulous coffee places.. Konditori, Villager, Bakeri, Hidden Grounds, and now Velvette Brew. First, the space: light, airy and I can imagine with their big windows, a sun soaked place on a sunny day. There are plenty of seats: tables and high top tables. Their menu offers a bit of everything from soup, sandwiches, quiche and pastries. There is a nice option of beverages hot/cold. Today, was a bit damp so I ordered a hot chai with bite size checkerboard cookies to dip. The barista was very pleasant and I found a seat while waiting for my chai. I see a lot of patrons working in laptops, some meeting up to talk and sip and even the barista chatted with a local patron. Love it! My chai was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The chai was frothy, rich, the black tea leaves infused with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, sweetener, and milk. I savored every sip and complimented the barista. It is always great to find a new coffee place. I expect to be a loyal local at Velvette Brew. They also host music events and have a collaboration with Cry Baby Ice Cream. The tacos comes in 4 per order and you can choose 2 different meat per order. I had the al pastor and shrimp taco. They were both ok flavor and taste wise but the 3 little shrimp was almost comical on the tortilla. (see picture) The birria sliders was good. We also ordered mussels, ribs and steak quesadilla from the regular menu to share. The ribs were ok and lacked flavor but it does come with a green sauce so maybe that's where you suppose to get the flavors. The quesadilla was good. The mussels were ok, they were fresh but again broth lacked flavor. The service was a bit slow on a Friday evening but I only saw 2 servers and one was also making the drinks. The place has a modern feel and looks nice with a small backyard for outdoor seats. They sat us in the back by the door and kitchen so not the best table since it's also by the trash cans. I would advise not to sit there if possible. FYI, it was not crowded with many open tables but I guess they sat us there due to lack of servers.
