L1 with cucumbers, banana peppers and extra red onions
Julian A.

I just had one of the best bagel sandwiches in a while at Brooklyn Bread Café. Ordered L1 The Go-To on an everything bagel (toasted, of course) with cream cheese, lox, and some extra veggie toppings, and let me tell you, perfection. The bagel had that perfect crunch on the outside and chew on the inside, the cream cheese was generous and smooth, and the salmon was fresh and flavorful. Bonus points: the extras (cucumbers, banana peppers, red onions) took it over the top, exactly the kind of crunch and tang you want with lox. Paired it with a 24 oz Arnold Palmer (sweetened just right) and it was basically brunch bliss in a bag. Yes, uber eats delivery added a little to the bill, but every bite reminded me why New York bagels really can't be beat. Will definitely be ordering again when I'm back in Brooklyn.

Came to pick up some bagels a few weeks back and the service was quick. Bagels were pretty good - froze them for quick breakfast and they were great reheated. They have an extensive bagel offering so I tried their rainbow bagel which I normally wouldnt get. I cant tell but it tasted a bit fruity to me which was interesting. Will be back to try breakfast sandwiches from them in the future!

Thank you to Brooklyn Bread -- the lasagna was absolutely delicious! The Leaders and I truly appreciated the time and care you put into making it, and even delivering it. I placed the order just the day before, and despite your busy schedule, you made it happen. That's what I call amazing customer service! We will definitely be ordering again.

Had bagels like sesame, plain, and everything bagel. Also had a blueberry muffin and cinnamon roll. Inside the cafe was nice and retro. It looked simple with a counter filled with different pastries. Outdoor seating was available Service was quick and friendly

Chicken Cesar Wrap w/ Grilled Chicken

Stumbled upon this place on our way to Whole Foods and it did not disappoint. It was Sunday around noon they were quite busy. The restaurant is located on the corner of the street, very visible. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating with majority of the seating outdoors. Indoor has a bar with stool-seating. The workers are pretty friendly. For food we ordered Chicken Caesar wrap with grilled chicken and the Mulberry chicken sandwich on a hero. Both were pretty large and very flavorful. The bread is good but heavy, will try the Mulberry on a wrap next time. Will definitely be back!

Everything is so just so soft and delicious! While the prices may seem steep, the sandwiches are packing with super soft bread and savory flavors. I was really impressed. Even the cookie is super soft. I want to try more of what they offer so I'd definitely be back. The sausage egg and cheese sandwich was basic for the price and you can get that at any deli but cheaper. My chicken and vodka sauce sandwich was INCREDIBLE! The basil and ricotta compliments it so well on a nice soft seeded hero bread. I'm ordering more for sure.

Sad bagel - A person holds a partially eaten bagel with cream cheese spread, revealing its airy, hole-filled interior and crust. The bagel is positioned above a crumpled foil wrapper, with a wooden surface visible in the background. The image focuses on the bagel's texture and the creamy topping.

Not sure who at this company okayed their bagel recipe, especially to sell in NYC/BK where you can find good bagels everywhere, but these are not it. Basically tasted like a roll. Dry, flakes and just overall not worth it. Walk a few blocks to hit up any one of the other half a dozen bagel spots in the are. Also took me almost 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me when I went in, no one else was in the store and three people were working behind the counter. Took an additional 10 minutes after ordering to get my bagel. Two stars are solely for the scallion cream cheese, thought that was pretty tasty.

Been waiting for this spot to open for quite some time, and caught them on their opening day. On the way to work, I popped in for that most NY of to-go breakfasts, coffee and a bagel. Bagels were fresh and delightfully toasted (as some neighborhood spots oddly refuse). Coffee was a bit burnt and disappointing. Service was quick and friendly, getting me out and off to the train pretty quickly. I have some concerns--both that the place seems geared more towards a commuting menu as people are working more at home--as well as that the menu is maybe too ambitiously broad--I grabbed a paper menu and it's like a mini-magazine. In addition to the eponymous breads and pastries, they have whole menu sections on Egg sandwiches (served until 4pm), Sandwiches, Large Gourmet Salads, Juices, Smoothies, and Açaí Bowls. I'm not entirely sure where they're storing all this food in a relatively small space, but good for them! Personally it feels like a potential Jack of all trades, master of none kind of place, but I'm definitely interested enough to give it another try.

Was alright, a bit expensive for a bagel and cream cheese. Maybe lunch is better, lots of items on the menu.

There's a couple of tables in a small store. Above the register there's a menu board resembling a train departures board, cycling through the options (it looks neat, but the printed out menu on your right is a lot more practical). There's a cooler with drinks and salads as you enter on the right. The sandwiches, however, are something special. On my first visit I went with something familiar, the Mean Streets (their Italian sandwich). The bread itself is fantastic (locally baked), and the toppings delicious as well (if I recall correctly the dressings are house made). Pleasantly, they also give you a paper plate with your order, which is a nice touch compared to eating off a wrapper. I enjoyed the first sandwich so much I came back the next day to try the No Sleep Til Gravesend. The sandwich is essentially a hot roast beef sandwich, with a jus on the sandwich reminiscent of a French Dip. Perfect on a cold, rainy day. Overall, 1 of 1 has great (and mostly house made) ingredients and great execution. There's a level of creativity on the menu that you rarely see elsewhere in the city. 1 of 1 is among the best sandwich shops in the city, and a very welcome addition to the area.

Got a TGTG order here. 11/10 I'd do it again…read more Brooklyn DOP actually originated as a pandemic business where my friend's personal trainer started baking pizzas outside of his Greenwood Heights apartment. When the hype got large enough, the owner decided to start a pizzeria and the rest is not history. This is one of the more worthwhile TGTG orders to me. Expensive though, about $55 dollars for a vegan 18-inch Margherita pie with 3 toppings. Was it worth it for the experience? Yes. Would I recommend to someone who wanted to try it at least once for a good dairy-free pizza? Absolutely, I couldn't even tell this was vegan cheese. Would I get it again? Maybe (?) once in a while as a treat with price being the only barrier. Service 5/5: This was great. I came here the other day to inquire about their vegan pizza and just wanted to try a slice. The person found his manager to talk to me about this. They were super friendly and explained to me the situation. This location only sold vegan options in full pies and their other DOP Fast Life location does sell vegan slices, but they didn't try to push me to buy. I came back today and the staff today were also very welcoming. Ambiance 5/5: Rustic red brick interior with warm lighting. It was definitely bustling on a Friday night. Food 5/5: Delicious pizza. I do regret that I ate it cold after driving 30 minutes to pick it up so I did not get the full experience. But the crust was still crunchy. I do wish the toppings were a little heavier but the tomato chunks in the sauce tasted very fresh. A very classic New York style pizza and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real cheese. Vegan garlic knots were great too.
