We really like this little place. They have the most amazing array of sandwiches. Of course there are lots of fresh bread and bagel choices....even rainbow bagels! We went for breakfast and could not have been happier. Sandwiches and roll ups were packed with fresh and well prepared fillings. I had a classic bacon eggs and cheddar in toasted everything bagel. My partner had an egg white roll up with Swiss avocado and hot sauce. A cappuccino and a matcha latte and we were set. Service was fast and friendly. I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for an actual bagel. The "bagels" are bready and soft, there is no gloss on the outside, no "chew" when bitten into. I decided to order from Brooklyn Bread Cafe via Uber Eats because of their creative breakfast sandwiches, but unfortunately, it was underwhelming and disappointing. First, when placing my order, I received a message that the restaurant--not an Uber Eats driver--would be delivering it. I'm not sure why, but that's how it was. I ordered the "Bushwick" sandwich, which included scrambled eggs (completely unseasoned--no salt or pepper), smashed avocado, bacon, sun-dried tomatoes, and sriracha mayo on a cinnamon raisin bagel. I also got an Arnold Palmer, a cheese Danish, and a hash brown. When my order arrived, half of my drink had spilled into the bag because it wasn't placed upright. That was immediately frustrating. On top of that, they didn't include a straw or cutlery, even though I selected that option when ordering. Since I wasn't home, I had no way to get a straw. The sandwich was pretty stacked, and when ingredients started falling out, a fork would have been helpful. The Arnold Palmer was disappointing--it wasn't sweet enough and lacked the balance between iced tea and lemonade that it should have. The sandwich was okay, but the eggs really needed salt and pepper. The hash browns were awful--dry and flavorless, almost like eating cardboard. Honestly, they would have been better off buying some from Trader Joe's , which are available in the area. The Danish was just okay--nothing special. Overall, I won't be ordering from here again. I had the Lucky Luciano (because prosciutto makes everything better), The Rev (a spicy chicken cutlet situation that I'm still thinking about), and a peanut butter & jelly because sometimes you just need the classics. This cafe had a very nice cozy feel to it. It has such an extensive menu. They had so many items. The staff's attentive service really adds to the charm of the place. We came here mainly for bagels and despite the variety, the bagels were lacking a bit, especially compared to the other local spots specializing in bagels. The do make up for that by providing some very creative style sandwiches. Price was pretty much normal for around the area. Stopped by here the other afternoon to pick up lunch. I got an açaí bowl, which I was pleasantly surprised to find since these run scarce throughout the neighborhood. The same goes for the smoothie it honestly tasted like air. The bacon egg and cheese was actually very good, but considering where we were it was a extremely 'bready' bagel. There was nice outdoor seating. The wait time was far too long for what we ordered. After watching them prepare our food at sloth speed I was just all that much more hungry for what ended up being a disappointing meal. Stay away from this place! They rob and cheat you! On two different occasions, we bought the lox. On both occasions we were shorted on the order. First time, I ordered a half a pound, when I got home it looked very light. After weighing it , the fish came in at less than a quarter pound. After several phone calls, I was able to get them to deliver the other half of my order. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of buying again today. We bought a pound, which was around $38. When we got home, it was weighed, and to no surprise it was well short of a pound. We will not be going back until they stop their shady practices. My advice would be to double check all your orders. I choose this restaurant over others for two main reasons. One being the delicious food. The other is the impeccable customer service. A few things that I love: the B.L.A.T, the chicken Parma, and the Cobb salad. The cookies are absolutely delicious. Sweet enough and cake like. They're perfect after my salads lol! Lately I've been sticking to salads and I love how tasty everything is. Everything tastes fresh. I also love that they're not skimpy on the avocado and chicken. I like the way they season their chicken for sandwiches and salads. I also think the way that they display their food is good. I've heard good things about the vodka chicken and am looking forward to trying that soon. For the price, the food portions are large. The delivery is usually on time or come earlier than what they say (which is always great). If they're running behind, I've gotten a notification. If I've ever had an issue with food, they're quick to make it right. Bagel purists will argue that Brooklyn Bread's bagels aren't authentic. They're right. You won't find hand rolled, boiled bagels here; rather, their style is brick oven. Think of a baked roll with a hole. But it works pretty well. I've been visiting Brooklyn Bread for years enjoying (havent had their food recently) their omelets on bagels, lunches, salads and (somewhat higher priced) coffee. I won't make a comment without verification. For example, 10 ounces their coffee---$2.00 whereas other coffee shops around $1.50. No biggie. Here's when it matters though. This morning I grabbed the highly recommended hazelnut coffee. I'm disappointed to write that it tastes burned or not fresh. Not the coffee I wanted to start my day with. Meh. There are some establishments where food and drinks consistently please. Then there are others that can be a crapshoot. My coffee was just that today. Luckily, it's only a $2.00 loss. We stopped here for some coffee & I decided to get a small bite to eat. I ordered a plain bagel TOASTED with butter & bacon. Our coffees were made right away and were pretty good. As for my bagel hmmm, it took about 10mins for me to get my bagel & literally everyone that ordered after me all had gotten their food. I got my bagel only after going to the counter to see what was taking so long. My bagel wasn't toasted, there was globs of butter on it and spread on the outside of my bagel & throughout the aluminum foil that it was wrapped in. Just a mess. I couldn't eat it & ended up throwing it out. They also literally put 2pcs of bacon on the bagel. Staff was in a floury, orders were backed up, food was all over the ground, the "new table service" they now offer was just a bunch of dirty tables that never got bussed or cleaned the entire time we were there, EDM was pumping, they forgot the bacon on the bacon egg and cheese, the bagel was disappointing and tasted like toast, the hot cocoa tasted like someone put 20 bags of chocolate into one cup of milk, my husband ordered a medium coffee and got a massive hot coffee in a cardboard cup that he couldn't hold without burning his hand... We went to order at the counter, and were told to sit down at a table and we will come to you. The poor kid didn't know what to do, he asked if we knew what we wanted before we even finished taking our coats off. Then we asked for the check and went to the counter to pay - and the lady sent us back to sit down at our table because our waiter will take care of us.
