The sandwich was good, but honestly not super memorable - it has only been a few days and I've already forgotten what was in it. I got the Bond St. which was eggs, a sausage patty, melted cheddar, and hot honey sauce. I got it delivered and by the time it arrived, some of the sandwich was totally soggy (but one of the halves was still great), I think because of the honey. It had a decent flavor profile with the sweet and spicy, but I'm not sure I'd order it again. I'd be open to trying something else here though! read more

I really enjoy their bagel with cream cheese, tomato, and avocado. Always toast 'em. The bagel is so easy to bite into. And those simple ingredients just go so well together. The price is also decent for what you get. It's just disappointing sometimes when they don't have certain ingredients that are supposed to be on the menu. They're back! You may have known Brooklyn Bread as a small, hole in the wall, cash only, bread joint in Carroll Gardens. Well, the game has changed - I'm a great way! Brooklyn Bread moved a few doors down to get a much larger space and some real outdoor seating. I'm the process they stepped YP their menu and technology to boot! You'll find a ton of great pastries, bread items, frittatas, açaí bowls and healthy fruit options. Oh, did I forget about their "famous" brick oven bagels? Not a typical NYC bagel, but in a good way. Their bagels are light and airy with the perfect crunch (when toasted, as I recommend) and won't bog you down like most other NY bagels. I'd also highly recommend stretching for a frittata sandwich (3 eggs, cheddar & sausage will be just fine, thank you). While it's still nice outside you can order and have them bring you things to the umbrella tables out on the patio or eat in the ample indoor seating. Service was prompt and accurate. Big bonus for now taking cards and .... drum roll... Apple Pay! I'll certainly be back for some breakfast indulgence- now only if they were in the way to the subway from my house. read more

Beware a little cash register scam! Ask for a receipt. It's a busy place and it's an affluent crowd and after they order, the cashier quotes the amount and they pay it. I heard the woman say 30 dollars to the couple in front of me -- not cheap for a bagel store! -- and then she said 30 to me. I asked her for the receipt and the amount was 28.00. Of course 2.00 isn't a big deal overall but I when I asked her if they just round up and throw out whatever number they want, she said yes. Skimming off hundreds of orders a day? Ordered the Bond St bagel for delivery which comes with eggs, the cheese of your choice, a sausage patty and mike's hot honey. It was one of the best breakfast sandwiches i've ever had! I love the combination of the sweet and spicy mike's honey with the eggs and sausage. It was also ginormous and extremely filling. The bagel isn't like your typical bagel, it is almost croissant like and very hearty. I also tried the home fries which were okay but nothing to write home about. Last time I went in ordered a scouped-out whole wheat everything, toasted with cream cheese, but when I got to the office I had a whole wheat roll with cream cheese, untoasted. (1) they charged $2.50 to add roasted peppers to a $10 sandwich-- do the math; (2) no one wants table service-- order at counter and serve to table isn't only a better choice, but would demonstrate they aren't completely out of touch w/ their customers; and (3) staff needs better communication-- customers shouldn't have to lean over the counter and put their ear in a staff member's mouth to hear them say that roasted red peppers are $2.50, or that if you're dining in, you need to sit down and deal with another staff member you can't hear. I had never seen or heard of a chocolate bagel until I had one at this place. How divine! Their other bagels and pastries, especially the cheese danishes, are fresh and delish as well. I was happily surprised by the extensive sandwich menu, too. More upscale combos and ingredients than a deli, but without the pretense and prices of a gourmet cafe. Perhaps most importantly, Brooklyn Bread is a CLEAN and BRIGHT space, which is refreshing. With the high turnover here, I get the feeling that nothing lasts longer than a day. A++ read more

This place is very clean. The staff is always friendly and attentive. I tried the spicy tuna on a garlic bagel and it was by far one of the best bagels I've had. The bagels are not too thick and just the perfect size. They have so many options from bagels and sandwiches to freshly baked goods and fresh juices. You must give it a try. read more

She wanted a cinnamon raisin bagel but they don't make raisin bagels. What kind of bagel shop doesn't make cinnamon raisin bagels!?!?!!! So disappointed! :-( The cashier said they do make chocolate bagels. I didn't see anything that looked like a chocolate bagel & didn't know what would go well with it- butter?, cream cheese?, either with jelly? None of those sound good but I got her a chocolate bagel with cream cheese & jelly hoping she'd like it. Turns out it's Not a chocolate bagel but a chocolate chip bagel. There's a Big difference! The service is also outstanding, always friendly and understanding of my allergy-specific requirements. The chocolate chip, S'mores, and Oreo cheesecake cookies, which I had on three separate occasions are NOT gooey at all. All were pretty dry.

It's been a mixed bag and I feel bad for giving them so many chances, but out of laziness and love of bagels I've gone back. Service has been great or rude. The bagels are lighter and not traditional, and they have no shame in serving a bagel the doesn't live up to its babe (like an Everything bagel that's more like a Few Things bagel. See photos). The shmears are usually skimpy (better today). Hold out for better. It's out there. Plenty. I mean it's New York, we're supposed to have bagels down. read more

I took one look at BBC's enormous bagels and pretty much wrote them off immediately. I'm a purist: I like my bagels boiled and these are not. I was fearing the worst: a glorified roll with a hole in the middle. Wrong!!! I don't know how they do it, but the whole grain everything (my "usual") had all the good aspects of a bagel (get it toasted. I love lots of everything on my bagel and there was just the right amount of everything on this one) and none of the bad (somehow I managed to eat the entire thing without feeling like I just dropped a carb bomb in my gut). They have all kinds of cream cheeses and tofu cream cheeses (I like olive). Service was really nice, despite the fact that there was a line out the door. Coffee could have been better, but that's my only gripe and I'm notoriously hard to please in that regard. I usually give up all hope if it's not a top notch coffeehouse anyway. The bagels (and tempting breads/muffins) are all you need concentrate on anyway. read more
