Stopped by again (was closed Wednesdays when I first visited) and finally got to try the goodies!…read moreAlthough I didn't have time to find parking for a stay - it's a small cute dessert shop with limited seats. I am a fan of the pandan flavor desserts and bought two that I wanted to try. One being a roll cake and the other layer cake. The pandan roll cake with taro I was told is a specialty that they only have on weekends. It was really flavorful, moist and spongy, just perfectly touched with a dash of sweetness in both the cake and the cream - I personally don't like overly sweet foods, and this is just perfect for me and my mom. I'm equally pleased with the layer cake as well it was very fresh and have that "QQ" texture - deliciously chewy and bouncy. This too, just hit right for me on the gentle sweetness, the pandan flavor keeping the spotlight in this dessert. My mom and I are big fans of these desserts. We just came back trying out others pandan layer cakes in Downtown Flushing and this shop beats them by a large margin. I hope to come back more when we could even though this shop is quite a distance for us.

You can order through fantuan or pay in person. There is a fantuan kiosk inside. Coffee is very dark and smooth with strong flavor which is good. They use pandan leaf in their desserts and you can taste the freshness of the flavor. La Farine might be one of the prettiest dessert spots I've been to in NYC…read more The pastries look like they're sitting in a jewelry case, but the real question is do they actually taste as good as they look? Iced Strawberry Latte - A layered strawberry latte that lets you control the sweetness. Stir in as much (or as little) of the strawberry as you want depending on whether you're craving more coffee or more dessert. I actually really enjoyed this one. Dark Chocolate Tart - My favorite of the night. Rich dark chocolate, a touch of sea salt, and not overly sweet. If you're only ordering one dessert, make it this. Exotica Cake - A close second. Light, tropical, and one of those cakes that somehow disappears before you realize you've finished it. Raspberry Ruby Tiger Cake - Beautiful to look at with a bright raspberry flavor that balances out the richer desserts perfectly. Apple Tart Tatin - Definitely the most unique dessert. It wasn't my personal favorite, but if I had to describe it... imagine apple pie baked with beer. If that sounds like your thing, you'll probably appreciate it more than I did. If you're looking for a date night dessert spot, somewhere to catch up with friends, or you just have a serious sweet tooth, La Farine is definitely worth adding to the list.

Their upstairs space feels thoughtfully curated, offering a quiet escape from the city while maintaining a warm, welcoming energy. Each of their bakery items reflect a high level of craftsmanship, from the rich, perfectly balanced Dark Chocolate Éclair to the buttery Scrambled Egg in Croissant with Asparagus and Gouda Chee. The Mozzarella and Heirloom Tomatoes in Sourdough with Pesto Sauce was fresh and vibrant, while the Smoked Salmon in Challah Roll with Cream Cheese and Capers stood out with its soft texture and clean flavors. I really enjoyed the Pistachio White Chocolate Babka Slice, which was not too sweet and paired seamlessly with our delicious Iced Oat Milk Lattes. Service elevated the experience further with Yankee providing attentive, friendly care from ordering through service, which was the perfect personal touch that made the visit to the UWS memorable.

I never knew this tiny Capy store was even existed and I passed the store so many times. Being Capy's fan in the past, I went there to get the chocolate tres leches cake for the kids and one strawberry for adults. They were delicious, moist and fresh. The price is also very reasonable. I got these 2 yummy cakes for under $100 The staffs are also very nice and helpful. This is what I love about Capy. If that is something that you like, your cake tasting like the ice cream already melted into it, then this is the cake for you. So many to choose from as well. Their were some samples they had already available to try. Coconut and Chococaramel. My friend and I loved the coconut, and me not being a fan of eating anything coconut, I went with the choco one. Although it was good, I didn't really care for the wet texture of the cake. What I did care for was the pecan cookies that they had available for sale, not to mention if you make any purchase in the store you get a free coffee, water, etc. Along with other desserts and treats they have, you can buy their cakes by slice, I choose their cookies and cream to take home to the hubs and he enjoyed it. I also picked up some of their truffles. (Dulce de leche, Salted Carmel, and Banana Foster). The staff is super friendly and cool, I see more visits to come.
