My sweet tooth is rather sensitive, and this treat was not overpowering with its sugar. It was just sweet enough with a tinge of smokiness from the chocolate. I liked the pillowy texture as well. I would say that you should plan to eat it with a glass of milk (cow, oat, or otherwise) to balance out the creaminess. Upon entering, I was greeted by a friendly enough female clerk, and ordered a small raspberry swirl cheese cake. The price was $8.50. I handed the gal a brand new ten-dollar bill. She placed my $1.50 change on the counter which I left untouched, electing instead to purchase a single cookie with the change. However, one cookie was $2.50 so I had to ADD another dollar to my change on the counter. However, I diidn't have another dollar, but I did have a brand new $2 bill which I just received from the Chase bank across the street. The woman REFUSED TO ACCEPT MY TWO-DOLLAR BILL saying, "I don't take two-dollar bills" so I returned the cheesecake (which was still in the bag on the counter) and asked for my money back. Instead of taking back the $1.50 change and giving me back my $10 bill, she tried to keep the new bill and instead, gave me an old $5 bill, four ragged singles, and four metal quarters. I advised the lady that I don't walk around with loose change in my pockets and I asked she simply return my $10 bill to me. The commotion this disruption caused resulted in a line forming behind me and OUT THE DOOR while she wasted countless minutes on the phone calling the owner to see if it's okay to accept my $2 bill. I never got to taste their cake because the Service I received left the worst taste in my mouth that I've ever had. Regardless of how good their products may be, the ownership and service were amongst the worst I've ever encountered in my entire 73-year life! Repeatedly I reminded and showed that dumb little piglet that my $2 bill was LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE, explaining to her that she HAD to honor my money but she refused. It was an utterly horrendous scene that should never have been allowed to escalate to that point. All she had to do was accept my $2 bill or return my $10 bill. But no, she wouldn't take my $2 bill and she wouldn't give me my $10 bill back, trying to force me to accept a short stack of filthy singles and metal quarters which I NEVER carry in my pockets. Any and all businesses are comprised of goods AND services and this place, "Make My Cake," left me with the worst taste in my mouth that I've ever had. I hope, pray, and petition that this place goes OUT of business just as fast as this wonderful neighborhood is changing.
