I wanted to share my experience with Brody's. It was fantastic from the time we walked in to the end of our lunch. Jason Brody is a gem. So patient and kind dealing with guests that are first time diners. I asked for an espresso martini and it almost knocked me on my butt at 11:30am I took Jason's suggestions off the menu. All a home run. Chicken Parm is the best in the west. Perfectly steamed vegetables for the side, Risotto with added shrimp to go for my husband, which was fabulous. It was our first time coming to this Brody's Italian restaurant and as it is nice, we didn't feel dressed up enough to dine in (it was a spur of the moment decision to go there as we'd been running errands), we decided to order take out. Kalleigh was the hostess who answered questions for us on the menu items, took our order and brought out our food. She was very friendly, welcoming and was able to answer all of our questions. Brody's Italian catered a family dinner party of 20 people for me. Caesar salad, lasagna, penne all campagna, pizzas and their homemade Tiramisu. Jason couldn't have been more helpful to me with ordering via phone from another state. I don't get the 1 star reviews at all....whenever we have eaten in, or ordered through door dash, we have always been satisfied, feel Like we have had a quality meal, and felt that it was priced reasonably. I don't normally like when owners respond negatively to customers, because I think that they should always try to make it right, but in the case of the situation 1 star reviews, I kind of agree with the owner who always seem reasonable (but I would recommend softening the tone a little so as not to off put new customers). My husband and I had dinner here tonight for our anniversary and we LOVED EVERYTHING about this place. Ok to start we love to support local restaurants/stores. I hate to write this review. I'd also like to be clear that we did not dine and ordered off DoorDash, and selected express delivery so not other stops. This was hands down the worst food we've received in delivery. We ordered 2 chicken parms, one chicken piccata, roasted veg, garlic bread and a salad. We threw all in the trash minus the salad which I HATE doing. Upon opening the containers the smell was off on the chicken, all the chicken dishes were rubbery minus the piccatta which we couldn't test because the smell was so over powering foul. (and not from capers). I've seen the response from the owner on bad reviews which I'm sure I'll get, again not personal, but need to do better. read more

Would not recommend. Both the pizza and pasta were decent. We got the margarita, bbq, and bianca pizzas. The margarita and bbq pizzas were average at best and the bianca pizza we could not even finish. We also ordered pasta that was suppose to come with pesto sauce. Instead there was no sauce. See photo. It was a to go order. I asked for silverware and didn't get any nor did I get the crush pepper I requested. Garlic bread was terrible. It was stale and had no flavor. I was able to feed and had leftovers for 16 for about $110 - but maybe it was because the food wasn't good. 2-stars because two of the pizzas were decent. As for the comment from the business: allow me to clarify, 2 of the 16 in our group included a 2 yr old and 6 yr old. 4 of the 16 had already eaten dinner. So I suppose it really fed just 10. We ordered pasta with pesto so if the photo shows a different pasta dish as you mentioned, well that would mean they didn't give us what we ordered. Not to mention the dish we did get was not good. I'd seen a number of bad reviews so was hesitant to try it, but then two separate friends both mentioned that Nick's is one of their favorites, so we decided to give it a try. Now I won't claim it as a favorite because we've had some really great Italian here in the valley, but it was pretty good - maybe top 10. We went on Sunday afternoon/early evening and it was pretty quiet. We were seated almost immediately, but for some reason we were seated at a back table where the ceiling fan wasn't working. We didn't notice until about halfway through the meal when we were getting quite warm. It was 110 outside, and I did mention to the hostess on the way out that they might not want to seat anyone else back there. Service was pleasant and prompt. And we never felt ignored. We started with the calamari, which was good. Nothing spectacular about it, just your typical calamari with red sauce. I ordered the baked ziti with meatballs and hubby had the veal marsala - if veal marsala is on the menu, he is definitely going to order it. Ziti was so hot when it came out, but so delicious. Meatballs were tasty and I'm known for being picky about meatballs. The cook on the ziti was perfect and a nice amount of cheese on top. I took leftovers home and we split it for lunch the next day, so you know portion size was good. Hubby ate all of his marsala. He said it was very good. He always compares to a place we made the mistake of going to when we lived on the east coast where the mushrooms were obviously canned and the veal was tiny little medallions and had no flavor. This was definitely not that! We got dessert to go - tiramisu and cheesecake. They were already in the bag and wrapped up so we didn't even look at them until we got home. Happy to say that the portion size was very generous. Given the rise in prices for dining out these days, I appreciate that they didn't skimp on the portion size. My wife and myself both went for the specials I had the strip steak with a mushroom sauce for $58.00 honestly have to say this was one of the worst steaks I had had in a very long time quality was poor and a lot of fat not trimmed. The fish dish my wife had was not much better. Total bill for 2 was close to $200 which is what you would pay at a higher end steakhouse with aged steaks. I was surprised to find that I'd never done a review for Nick's - I've been going to Nick's for much longer than I've been Yelping, so I guess I just didn't think of it. Nick's has been our go-to Italian food spot for 20+ years. This time around, we needed a place that could seat 7 people who hadn't planned ahead and didn't have a reservation. They got us seated and we got our order in. It seemed like maybe they were a little short staffed in the kitchen, as the wait was longer than usual, but when the food came out, it was very good, as always. My cousin got a salmon dish, and said she thought it might have been the best fish dish she'd ever had. I went with the Lobster ravioli (I've been stuck on that for a while now - it's really good). My daughter-in-law ordered the Penne Pasta - she said it was the best Penne Pasta she could remember, too! Overpriced food, that isn't that good. Several plates had to be returned, the server gave us the wrong price on items and the manager pretty much struggled his shoulders when we complained. We won't be back. Response to manager: a lot of wrong information in the rebuttal and several people from our party said the food was not good at all. Based on other reviews below, I am not the only one that said the food is overpriced. And yes, I ate my meal since I don't waste food. We took the cannoli since that was the only thing offered to us to make it right, even though we had a huge cake to eat (doesn't make much sense) and we would absolutely not tip based on what was done to us. I eat out weekly since I travel for a living and this and jimmy John's (the only other bad experience I had) got a bad review from me. I never complain to restaurants since I know how difficult it is to stay afloat. This was honestly one of the oddest experiences I had. Charging someone to bring in a cake is also pretty odd.
