I'm so confused. There were two reviews from a month ago who said the food wasn't very good. I went last night for the first time and it was really good. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and she said hadn't noticed any difference from the previous owners. In fact, her husband said that the old owners will come in and assist the new owners if needed. The food was very good. And the bread was absolutely addicting. We ordered the garlic bread with cheese and the whole table devoured it. Supposedly their sandwiches are legendary so my husband and I plan on ordering one the next time we come. The restaurant is smaller, but beautifully decorated. The owner was there with his two young daughters, and if they became rowdy, he took them outside as to not go disturb us. It's BYO wine, too. They'll provide the glasses. We only eat at Mom-and-Pop shops and we'll definitely support this one. This isn't a place where you'll want to come if you're rushed, but instead want to take your time, chat with your friends, and enjoy the food. read more

We've been coming to this restaurant for many years, and unfortunately, our recent experience was extremely disappointing. Since the restaurant is now under new management, it seems like the entire atmosphere and level of service have changed. We waited an entire hour for our food. What made the experience even more frustrating was watching the manager appear to prioritize feeding his own family while paying customers continued to wait. The entire staff seemed stressed, overwhelmed, and disorganized. I understand that restaurants can have busy days, but there was very little communication or acknowledgment of the lengthy wait. It's sad to see a restaurant we've supported and enjoyed family celebrations for years go downhill like this. We truly hope the new management takes a step back, addresses the staffing and service issues, and remembers that customers should come first. At this point, we're very hesitant to return. Friends of mine took me here for dinner and oh man was I impressed! It's a local neighborhood spot- nothing fancy, yet warm and chatming with fresh scratch made food and very friendly service. They do offer BYOB which we took advantage of this evening. I had the bruschetta, chicken picatta and the tiramisu and everything was excellent. The portions here are large and filling and you will definitely leave here feeling satisfied. Highly recommend 10/10! read more

Passing chicken tenders off for chicken Parmesan in a Italian restaurant sad I don't care what the previous owner used to do. You should have some common sense but oh I forgot you're not a chef . Or ever worked in a kitchen no experience you should always listen to your customers. Your customers are always right especially when they tell you that she's a chef you can't pass chicken tenders off for chicken Parmesan. The bread is different and it taste completely different. Your server was rude bullish and very sad to present in front of customers I the real sad part was I asked to send it back because I did not like the taste and they came to the table and told me I still had to pay for it so I didn't like the food and I still had to pay for it the reasoning was she said they made it to order. That's why I had to pay for it but anybody in the Restaurant business knows that all food is made to order and if a customer states they don't like it they can send it back and not pay for it. From the amazing service to the mouthwatering food, there are no words I can use to describe this place. I was shocked when we went at 2:00 and there wasn't anyone there, because I have truly never had an experience quite like this. The owner of the business, Claudio (I may have butchered that spelling), had excellent, authentic cooking skills, being from Sicily, Italy, and was very welcoming since the second we walked in the door. Went here for lunch based on so many good reviews. It's a small eatery tucked in the corner of a strip mall. They have outdoor, dog friendly seating. We opted to seat outside because it was a very pleasant day. We enjoyed watching people and their canine friends coming and going from the groomers next door. We were greeted and served by a very pleasant young man. He was attentive and approachable. The food was very good. Came here strictly off of other Yelp reviews. This is a small whole in the wall type of establishment. Inside was completely redone since covid due to an unfortunate fire. :( The waiter we had was very friendly. We asked him about the dishes & what he would recommend. He was very helpful & patient with us. I ordered the linguini & clams with white sauce, it was quite tasty, but, in all honesty it was a little on the salty side. But, very flavorful. My husband ordered some chicken pesto pasta dish & he said his was very tasty. We also had some cheese garlic bread as an appetizer. Also good! He did say that the bread for the garlic bread is the same as what they use for their pizzas, all in all, I'd say this is a very good hidden gem, definitely would suggest giving them a try if you ever in the area. They do not sell alcohol here but will uncork wine if you bring it. BYOB just so you know! we started off with a few appetizers - garlic bread, garlic bread with cheese, mozzarella sticks, and the fried mushrooms. All very good! I ordered the Pasta with vongole. You can choose what pasta type you like with your choices. I got linguine and did a white sauce (you can also choose red). This is my girlfriend trying the B&G (Basil & Garlic). It is a linguine pesto pasta with shrimp. She almost cried when she tasted the pesto. She does this when she is overwhelmingly happy. She is a pesto fiend, and Basil & Garlic Bistro hit it on the head. Quaint little place, mom & pop, solid food from what we had. Jonny provided amazing service. This is an COVID-19 Update Review Yes, Basil & Garlic is open for Takeout and both Claudio & Nadine seem to be doing well under the circumstances. Our daughter bought us an anniversary dinner from here last night. During the last nine weeks, we've found that Basil & Garlic does it much, much better than most with to go orders. Everything was hot and tasty. We even had our own personal server, while enjoying our meal from our own dinning room. LOL This our fourth or fifth takeover meal from Basil & Garlic, which makes us wonder why we go anywhere else. We had their yummy Boscaiola pasta, which comes with sausages, spinach and mushrooms in cream sauce and meat Lasagna. Both dishes were outstanding. Our sever btw raved about her own oversized Calzone. For dessert, the three of us shared a Tiramisu and a Cannoli, which capped a wonderful evening. Yum!! This place hit the spot the other night. We picked up a to-go order and it was hot and fresh when we received it. We ordered 3 spaghetti and meatball entrees. So my daughter is SUPER picky about food, but she actually ate the spaghetti and meatballs here! The pasta was thick and cooked perfectly and the meatballs were large and not dry at all! Hole in the wall neighborhood restaurant that serves good Italian food. It's a BYOB restaurant so make sure you bring your own alcohol. We started with the calamari and garlic bread. The garlic bread was nice and crisp but can use little more garlic. We weren't impressed with the calamari, it was over fried and too much pepper in their batter. But their entree were great. We both enjoyed their chicken Marsala and lasagna. Their lasagna was one of the better one we had in a long time. Our friend loves the chef's special and swore by it - basically the only thing he ever orders there. The tiramisu was amazing!! It's light and melt in your mouth. The serving was generous and only $5.50! Can't beat that! 4 stars because appetizers weren't that great and the lack of ambience. read more

I would not suggest the calamari. It was too rubbery. The pizza is a 5 plus. I would suggest all pizzas. They have it nailed. Really good. Great crust. The lasagna was a 4 out of 5. I personally was less enthusiastic about the sauce. It just lacked good deep flavor and was a bit runny. All waiters were amazing. They were attentive and funny.
